Condition Report The tile is in good display condition but the bottom left corner has been reglued as shown as well as the top left being partially missing to a lesser degree. It has a some age related crazing and also a some nibbles to the edges but this is to be expected on a tile of this age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition. 2" Antique MINTON HOLLINS& CO Fireplace Relief Tile 1860-1890 Victorian Moulded This is a lovely little tile from Minton. Hollins& Co. Circa 1860s-1890s. It is a brown/taupe relief tile from a fireplace. It features a pretty pinecone-like design. This tile bears an impressed circular insignia on reverse: MINTON, HOLLINS& Co. Inside of the circle is the number 2I2 with EB beneath. There is a P outside the circle on the right bottom corner and a X sign in the lower left corner. In 1845. Herbert Minton took Michael Daintry Hollins into partnership. And the tile-making side of the business became known as Minton Hollins& Co. Herbert Minton's successful experiments in making encaustic tiles during the 1840s( Encaustic tiles are ceramic tiles with a decoration made of different colours of clay inlaid into the surface. UNUSUAL MINTON HOLLINS VICTORIAN TILE `BAMBOO AND LEAVES`
This is an unusual Victorian tile made by Minton Hollins and Co Stoke on Trent. The pattern shows crossed bamboo shoots and leaves. It is coloured in pastel shades of pink and blue on a white ground. The tile is 6 inches square. There is some slight roughness on the edges but generally it is in good condition. The Minton Hollins factory marks are on the back of the tile. Minton & Hollins Victorian Gothic Fleur Des Lys Enamelled Majolica Tile 4"
Minton& Hollins 4" x 4" Enamelled Majolica tile of the Gothic Revival type. Designed by A W N Pugin This tile is Circa 1865 and is in excellent condition for it's age etc. A handful Tiny nibbles that are so small they hardly show on the photos. Enamel is intact with NO cracks or crazing and still very much bright and clear. I have a number of these tiles and will list more should there be the interest. 4 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MINTON HOLLINS BLUE& WHITE FLORAL CERAMIC TILES These lovely antique tiles have a blue and white decorative pattern and were made by Minton Hollins of Stoke upon Trent England. The tiles are in good condition considering their age. One of the tiles is missing part of its top left corner and all the tiles have some minor nibbles to their edge. All of the tiles have various levels of tile cement still attached. As visible in the photos. There is also some crazing to the glaze present on all the tiles, but this does not detract from the quality of the decoration. The tiles measure 6" by 6" and have"MINTON HOLLINS&Co PATENT TILE WORKS STOKE ON TRENT" embossed on their base.
