A wonderful victorian fireplace tile. Earthenware clay hand painted and glazed fireplace tile. Reverse reads: Mintons China Works Stoke On Trent The embossed Minton stamp is also on the reverse. 6" square x 1/2" thick. Colours of terracotta. Stone and black. A trellis chequered design. Very gothic in style. Gothic revival stylised leaves. A typical medieval look! Not perfect. But still beautiful, a chip and a corner missing(zoom in to see these) Perfect to stand on a mantel or on a shelf purely for decoration!

They are from an old home in the heart of Chicago that I purchased over 25+ years ago. They are exactly as I purchased them. always plans to use them! carried them with me to four different houses! All were found in basement cellar. Once installed in fireplace surround I am sure. The tiles found were not a complete surround. There are different leaf& Floral leaf design motifs. Most likely designed by William De Morgan. Very beautiful and bold. These tiles are AMAZING! The pictures are so difficult to take as the copper lustre and reflecting glaze mirrors reflections. Vintage Kimberly Enterprises Art Tile Nouveau styled young girl with lucky four leaf clovers. Measurements with frame: 5.5"x 7.5" Tile only: 4"x6" Both frame and tile are in pristine condition. No chips. Scratches, breaks, or scuffs. Makers information secured to back of tile. Also, I didn't have the heart to remove the gift note from a mother to her daughter which is taped on the back. Antique Ceramic Tile Green Leaf Floral 1900 Art Nouveau Majolica Italy Italian
This auction includes a lot of two(2) antique 6" square ceramic tiles! These Art Nouveau tiles are unmarked but fall in the Majolica design from Italy. The two tiles are in good condition for their age. Picked up at an estate sale recently. These tiles were gently removed from an early 1900 kitchen/dining room furniture piece. The ceramic is crazed but that does not deter from the overall beauty of these tiles. We offer two additional tiles from the same furniture piece for auction this week. The mustard yellow flower with green leaf pattern blended well with the green leaf pattern.

It measures approx 6" x 6" x 1/2" It has been used before but is in good condition. No chips or cracks. The back has usual signs of pre-use. Small chips on the edges etc. which are not seen on the front. Usual light crazing.
