This is a beautiful example of the industrial carts made in the first decade or two of the twentieth century. I have added a salvaged wood top in my professional woodworking shop. Steampunk Industrial Welder's Table / Coffee Table / Work of Art
Just finished up this project. VERY UNIQUE. VERY INDUSTRIAL. VERY COOL. VERY STEAMPUNK. The framework is a turn of the century antique welder's table. I covered the top with cleaned and buffed. Re-purposed roofing metal and added a decorative(almost medieval) decoration. There are almost 400 small copper plated nails attaching the steel. The design work has been polished, but the original galvanized coating was left on the base metal to add contrast. This is a beautiful piece of industrial history. The cart in this auction was taken apart and refurbished by the previous owner. it has a gloss finish. You can actually roll this cart on a white rug without it leaving a rust mark or stain. Roll it from one room to another without worry. It's solid.I use it for a coffee/dinning table. It's surface is smooth enough so no splinters grab you or your cashmere sweater. But the holes nicks. And years of use were purposely left alone. You see them But they are preserved. The bolts are turned so that the threads, washers, and nuts face inside the frame with the carriage heads facing outward(see photos) High bidder may leave the bolts this way or turn them around to make the threads. Washers, and nuts visible. Can ship either way. The wide board on our carts make them great for coffee tables. The to p is smooth to the touch. Unfortunately. The oak top and frame on th i s cart w ere not able to be restored. So we made a beautiful oak top and frame from old barn wood. The oak is absolutely amazing! Oak pegs cover the fasteners. The iron and fasteners are original and have been completely restored. The photos show the actual carts that we are selling. We photograph each cart as we list it. It made them easier to roll over the uneven surfaces of a factory floor. It's a good design for a factory, but bad for a table. So. Antique Machine Age Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Coffee Table Base Steampunk
Here we have a great antique cast iron base with hand cranks on each side that turn a gear. The gear comes out a little bit above to top of the table base I imagine it would make for a cool adjustable drafting style coffee table. As you can see from the photos these legs are a bit top heavy. I put a small piece of cardboard to hold the two legs together and they stood up fine no problem so I don't think there would be any issue once a top is crafted for them. The bottom of the legs can also be mounted so this could either be mounted to the floor or even on top of a taller table to craft or even the wall. These legs stand about 18 inches tall not counting the gears and cranks.

You are considering an old factory cart. The cart was sand blasted and sealed. The ends of the cart were cut and welded vertically to make a bench. I replaced the original broken wood with rough cut(but later sanded and sealed) lumber with a ton of character. The metal and wood on the cart has scratches. Bends, dings and rust which adds to its industrial look. I call this piece a"small bench" I also have two small wing carts, two large wing carts, a large bench cart and a small cart with plates. Tennessee Central Railroad Railway Marble Industrial Coffee Table Top
Own a piece of American Railroad History. Tennessee Central Memorabilia is extremely hard to locate. This Tennessee Central Logo came from the floor of the old Freight Depot building Vestibule that sat on 1st Avenue here in Nashville. It is made of Tennessee Marble. Which was mined in East Tennessee from the mid 1800's until the early 1900's. Two colors, Grey and' Cedar' it is called, more of a purple tint. It measures about 34 inches across, and is just under an inch thick. In 1972 as they were tearing down the Depot a gentleman went to retrieve some of the Architectural Glass Blocks and this was in the floor. He asked the workers if it was to be saved and they told him no it was" going to the dump" He convinced them to let him salvage it. 3 hours later with a screwdriver and a claw hammer he had it out in one piece. ... moreHe's owned it all these years. I purchased it from him a while ago. It's been in my Living Room since. The Marble is as smooth as glass, polished very well. Use your imagination and consider a simple base, or use reclaimed wood and rails etc. One of a kind Historic item. Guaranteed Authentic and old! Antique Factory Service Cart You won't find one like this anywhere. But be sure to let me know if you do. This factory service cart. Made by Service Caster and Truck Co. in Albion, MI, was recently removed from Messing Planing Mill in St. Louis. MO. It is fully functional. In original condition and can be used as a cart or small table. This is a smaller but taller style cart and measures 36"L) x 24"W) x 26"H) and weighs a measly 270 lbs. It is in the exact condition that it was when it was removed from the building. Anything that looks white is gypsum that fell from the leaky roof and stuck to the wheels. It will clean up great. The only missing part is one screw for the metal retention piece on the top(and I may have a replacement for it) All castings look to be solid with no repairs. This cart will fit anywhere in your ... morehouse and a pair of them would make great nightstands. The photos look the same. But the cart has been turned around so that you can see both sides. It is quite cool. This is a no reserve auction. If you have the highest bid. You get it. Because of the weight. This item will be delivered complete via freight service. This rustic beautifully worn table was once a luggage cart and dates C.1916. Excellent color to the metal and the top of the wood from years of use. The metal is hand wrought with nice curves. Rivets, and hand stenciling that is on the sides of the metal. Up for sale is this beautiful antique industrial railroad factory cart with heavy duty cast iron wheels and hardware. This cart has be completely restored- great decor and very functional repurposed as a coffee table. It measures 48" long(53" to metal) by 25 1/2" wide and 15" tall. The distressed wood has lot of character which is all original. The wood was lightly sanded. Stained with Minwax"Cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane. The cast iron wheels and hardware were pressure washed then painted with two coats of rustoleum black. Ask if you have any questions and thank you for looking. It has been completely and carefully disassembled. The hardware is cleaned and the bolts are all rethreaded, but the original look is maintained(no gloss black Rustolium here! The boards are de nailed and planed just enough to expose some new, smooth wood but still keeping the well worn factory appearance. Finally, the wood is stained dark and sealed with two coats of high build satin polyurethane, and the cart is reassembled with black, wrought head nails. Finally, the end casters are drilled and tapped to accept a set screw to adjust and secure the end wheels to prevent rocking from end to end. This is one of the most unique carts I've seen, with the large"54" stencil and the finish that varies from dark brown to almost black. The combination of the hard, heavy cast iron with the warm, richness of the wood make will make this a perfect addition to your home or business.
