Description: This is an early antique L&JG Stickley library table from the Onondaga Shops period in the early 1900s Mission and Arts& Crafts period in very good condition. The piece appears to be made of ash or chestnut and is extremely heavy and bulky. The top is 1.25" thick and the posts are 3.5" square. The table has unusual form with a lower shelf set high and two keyed through tenons on the sides. There are double pins at the top and bottom and the legs have a nice taper towards the bottom. It has one drawer, and has been refinished inside and out. The terms restored and refinished are not meant to convey perfection. While the restoration process removes or minimizes imperfections, subtle signs of its age and use remain. Antique Italian Renaissance Trestle Style Library Table
Another beautiful piece of Italian Renaissance furniture. This is over 100 years old and in amazing condition for the age. The original owner of this piece purchased it in Italy. This piece is a two drawer trestle style library table and it comes with two tooled leather chairs. It stands 30.5" high. Has a length of 63.5" and a width of 31 7/8" The chairs have a back height of 41.25" and the seat height is 20" This is constructed from oak and other woods. The top of the table is a thin piece of wood with framing around and underneath it. The edge is finished with a detailed skirt molding all the way around. The trestle style legs are carved with great detail and end at a nicely carved claw foot on each side. The center board is also carved. All pieces& hardwood are Original. Had not been restored, refinished or salvaged. Top and legs are original to the cabinet drawers, has not been updated for any reason. I believe the wood is maple, although unsure of the exact type of wood used. Beautiful Dovetailed drawers all slide easily. This item has been located in a private library until two years ago when we took possesion of it. Adjustable threaded feet on very bottom of legs. Top of cabinet have minor flaws as pictured, light scratch, watermarks. Not sure what happened to explain the light spot in top right corner, a couple dark marks on one side(pictured) very minor dings and marks here and there(too small to take pictures of) Unit rests on top of each enclosed unit, in layers, copper dowels sit in between each layer to hold in place. Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Antique Replogle Light up Illuminated World Lighted Library Globe Table Stand
Replogle Glass Lighted Library Globe This Globe will no longer be used by us and is deserving of a good home in its present original condition which is super considering its age. It may look similar to others. But It is an earlier model than most out there. It may be a pre-WW II model. Original finish as pictured. There are a couple extremely tiny chips in the map itself, one up close photo shows its size is as small as a letter in the word Indonesia above it. It would touch up with a marker and would not have to be mentioned, but I want to point out the even the smallest imperfections. If this globe wasn't original and extra nice we wouldn't own it. The finish and teture is crazed as it should be and is still very tight and firm all over. There are some very minor nicks in the wooden stand; none are significant or hurt the piece ... morein value or charm. The crazing in both the wood varnish and the map adds beauty and character to the nature and richness of the globes age. The stand is also very strong and firm and not weak or ever broken or repaired. The original factory paper friction reducer washer on the bottom of the globe between the metal discs Where the light switch is attatched to the harp is still present. It is torn and rather than throw it out we have just kept it there. I plan to ship this in 2 boxes. Stand and globe seperate from each other. The paper is nearly useless and slips back and forth as the globe is picked up or moved so it may slip out slightly when shipped. I can tell you that we consider ourselves to be the very best at boxing up an item so you can be assured it will be very well cared for. Shipping is for the lower 48 states only. The piece is beautiful and attracts comments when someone enters the room and spots it. The table has unusual form with a lower shelf set high and two keyed through tenons on the sides. There are double pins at the top and bottom and the legs have a nice taper towards the bottom. A very rare Horner Brothers mahogany oval full winged griffion library table or desk Ca. 1890's. In 40 years of buying antiques I have never seen this Horner model before. A little over 59" inches long and 34 1/2 inches wide and 30 1/2 inches in height having four original drawers see photo's of this great carved desk. The desk has highly carved detail even carved tails on the griffions having a solid mahogany top.
