Dating to around 1910. This lovely quite petite table is constructed of solid oak and has a beautiful tiger grain pattern. It has a warm. Mellow patina to its honey brown colouring. The table features fantastic grain patterns to the top surface. Achieved through the use of oak planks, rather than one piece of timber. It also gives it a more rustic, casual dining feel. It stands on lovely turned and fluted legs and has a substantial shaped stretcher base. The table will comfortably seat 4, or 6 people if smallish chairs are used. The table measures 120cm long. 89cm wide and the table surface is 77cm high. The table is in very good antique condition. Structurally strong and robust. It does have some scratching and bumps to the table surface, but these only add to the charm and character of the piece, and provide that more rustic feel- very chic! As with all quality antique and vintage furniture, age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected. The cabinet has a beautiful folk art painted front that has worn to show it's history and character. The hand painted flowers are just amazing. I have never seen a cabinet like this- I purchased it at a local estate sale in Glen rock, Pa. The Estate described it as a Traveling pantry cabinet p ossibly from a traveling store that would go from town to town and sell specialty items and goods- mid/late 1800's. It has a large cylinder with a sifter for flour and many compartments which feed from the top into the bottom that probably held sugars. I wedged in a piece of rough cut lumber to repair a hole left when piece of equipment was removed. I would call it a rustic repair. I also gave it a light sand and seal. This is a true machine age piece from a real machine shop in rural Ohio. It was resurfaced by the original manufacturer in 1960. It measures 18" by 24" and is 4" thick. You can raise one or both leaves at a time. Tables like this were used to make daily dough on busy kitchens. But today it can serve the purpose of a kitchen table in a small cottage or even a dining table if you have no dining room– when leaves are open you can serve up to 8-10 people and when leaves ... moreare down it takes up minimal floor space. This table was carefully restored, when we did our best trying to preserve it’s original patina and time marks on the top are clearly seen. Because it is solid wood it was much easier to remove them and make this table like new. But we are museum quality restorers, not refinishers. Table is jointed with wooden pegs; uneven. Hand cut dovetails on the drawer and the way how it was constructed, along with early, rusted through nails makes us believe that it is a very old item, dating back to early 19th- late 18th century, but due to the provincial nature of this piece of furniture it just cannot be identified for sure and an exact date of its creation is unknown. It is a quality made item, well build and precisely fit, only three solid pieces of lumber were able to make it 42“ wide, which means that it’s wood came from about 300 years old tree; you will not able to find lumber this wide in stores anymore– all old trees are under protection of the French government now, hence they were almost all gone in 18-19 centuries, when France was producing only solid wood furniture. Antique & Primitive, Pegged, Kitchen Table, Original Blue & Green Paint, 50"
I get most of my items at estate auctions and sell them in an"as found" condition. I do no repairs. Alterations and very little cleaning. This is done in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible. Because the items I sell can come from anywhere. I can't guarantee they all come from smoke free environments. DESCRIPTION: The colors seen in the photos are not completely accurate. The table has two colors. The table top is almost a pale Robin's egg blue and the lower part of the table is more green than blue. It is possible the top is not original but if it's not it was replaced a very long time ago. The table is straight out of a barn from a farm near Odessa. Missouri where it had been for many, many years. I would guess it dates to the mid 1800's if not before. It is an all hand made ... morepiece and the pegs holding it together are obvious, some protruding from the surface. There are also nails where it had been repaired, probably several times, but even those are very old. The paint looks to be completely original. I couldn't find evidence of any color underneath. The paint, of course, is very worn. There is even a small amount of old newspaper stuck to the top. As it is seen in the photos is exactly how it was found. The boards, one especially, are a little loose on top but I will leave it up to the buyer to take care of that. I'm not going to do any repairs. At this time it's about as original as an old primitive gets. It's probably been on that farm from the day it was made. It is about 49 1/2" in length, 31 3/4" in width and about 29 1/4" in height. I didn't find any dry-rot on the table. Please do not ask for this item to be shipped. It is for local pick up only. No exceptions. Antique oak Possum belly table in GREAT condition. Kitchen Island?
This is a great possum belly table made out of oak from around the turn of the last century. It's in really great condition for that age. There is a slight crack in one of the drawers but not really noticeable and doesn't affect the functionality of the piece. It also has a built in cutting board. My parents have used this piece in their kitchen as a kitchen island before and it looks really neat. I don't have the measurements off hand. But I can get them if needed. Antique industrial kitchen island butcher block table angle iron frame
You are considering a vintage industrial table with a butcher block top. The table was made from combining a salvaged 4" thick butcher block with a freshly welded angle iron base. I slightly sanded the butcher block and sealed it. I lightly painted the base so as not to completely cover the rust and surface texture. I used hammered dark bronze paint. I tried to take decent pictures so you can judge its condition for yourself. It is about 40" x 34 1/2" x 32" tall. You are welcome to inspect this piece in Granville. OH during the auction. Antique Kitchen Table Set
Table is 48"L x 34"W x 30"H. Two 10" leafs are included. There are 5 chairs which measure approx. 18 ¼"L x 16"D x 34"H. Chair seat is 18 ½" from floor. The number"72" is written on the bottom of three of the chairs& at the bottom of the table. The number"36" possibly the date 7/29/41 is also written at the bottom of the table. The set is in excellent condition but does show signs of age where the finish has worn off. One of the chairs has a red mark on the seat which is shown in one of the photos. The chairs are a little wobbly& two of them have been glued and braced. Table has been disassembled for pickup. Local Pickup Only. Payment by PAYPAL or Cash at time of Pickup; No Checks Accepted. The table has leaves that pull out from each end to extend and slide back underneath when not in use. This is a solid heavy table that stands on turned legs with a very pretty cross stretcher. The table measures 72" long x 34" wide with both leaves extended and 50" long x 34" wide without the leaves. I am not sure of the age and the maker. But I know it was made in the United States using"Old Town Maple" and is at least 60+ years old. The table has scratches from use which add to its overall charm but nothing major.
