The cap is solid brass that has aged to a nice warm bronze color. It could be polished to a high shine or left in the condition it is. The switch has small scratches and great tarnish. It was made in the USA by HUBBELL. The switch looks good inside. The switch tests ok with a voltmeter. It is 2 1/4" in diameter and 2 1/8" tall. Early porcelain / ceramic and brass Hubbell toggle switch
Vintage Hubbell toggle switch. Side of brass is marked: 8A 250V 5A 125V Hubbell" also on the other side" und. lab. insp. Underside is marked"Made in U.S.A. but I can't make out the rest. I have 2 in the same very good condition but listing and price is for one. I don't really know how these old switches work but it appears to all be there. Interior has a discolored sort of rust spot where the wires come in. But it's on both so I think it was made that way. The little cutouts where the wires come through the porcelain sides have some small chips in them, not awful just not perfect. If you've got a minute and you know how old this is I'd love to know. Overall piece is in very good condition. But take a good look at the photos as piece is being sold as-is.

Vintage Hubbell#94071 wall plates. These are single gang plates for standard light switches. And are made of sheet steel with a brushed brass finish. They're new old stock, still in the cardboard sleeves and paper wrapping, but the boxes are kind of tattered. They also include the wall plate screws. They're kind of old fashioned looking but would make a great finishing touch to an early 1900's home restoration. A note about shipping-our shipping cost is for a single item. The 5 vintage/ antique brass have all been cleaned at some point and have a clear coat probably laquer finish. There are 2 single button that are marked Harveyhubbell in Bridgeport conn. and two of the doubles are same design metl thicknes but not marked These four have heavier metal and sharp corners and edges the last double has softer edges and a little thinner metal The covers have a textured surface so I think they where cleaned in a glass beader and polished before clear coat there is no damage or repaires and they are not bent overall condition is VG refinished condition. check out the other lamp/ hardware parts listed seperatly.

This cover is part of an original assembly. It will not fit on just any receptacle. Please view pictures and make sure screw holes match up before bidding. Brass cover has a brushed finish. It is used. I cleaned it with a brush and some compound. I only put about 5 minutes of elbow grease into it. It will probably clean up better. Screw locks turn freely. This is for the toggle switch that you see here. In great condition. The photos show the true condition. 2.25" diameter. The cord and plug are original. I am assuming that it works just fine. Although I cannot guarantee that, as I was not brave enough to plug it in to test it. You see a couple small chips in the brown porcelian. These are all but unseen when the switch is mounted on a wall, I believe. And, some well-placed brown paint will all but make them disappear.
