****Antique Powell & Hanmer HOROSCOPE bicycle oil lamp lantern. Safety cycle****
An antique Powell& Hanmer HOROSCOPE bicycle oil lamp from the late Victorian era. Everything is firm and works as intended and there are no dents. The two red side lenses and clear front bi-convex lens have no cracks or chips. As you can see the chimney roof is hinged in order to facilitate cleaning and one of the side windows slides up for lighting. The oil reservoir slides out for filling and is sound. There is some cracking on one side of the wick dome(see photo) But this does not affect function. Understandably there has been black paint loss over the years but personally I like the way it is and would't repaint. This little lamp measures just under 5 inches in height.

A pretty little Joseph Lucas& Sons PLANET bicycle oil lamp from the late Victorian(1890's) period. It is an exceptionally good example and by the look of it.It hasn't been used much. The black paint which remains is the original and that which is missing. Reveals in main, bright base metal. All lenses are sound with no chips or cracks- front clear lens is bevelled and the two side lenses are red. There are no dents and everything works as intended. In summary a fine example and hard to find better. Height-just under 5 inches.

Best to wire it straight into the ceiling, but also has a plug on the end if you'd like to go that way. Antique Pair Kerosene/Oil Carriage Lantern Lamps Sconces converted to Electric
PAIR OF ANTIQUE BRASS CARRIAGE TYPE LANTERN/LAMPS Up for auction is this great matched pair of wall sconce lamps which are very old and possibly hung on a carriage or railroad car? They have been converted to electric as you can see but there is still the familiar scent of oil or kerosene which makes me think they are very old. Possibly early 1900s? One of them appears to have been partially restored and the other is totally original with a dark patina finish. They are about 28" tall and about 9" across at their widest point and must have been outdoor lamps. The tops are vented and come off. Each lamp has five original 4" x 5.5" beveled panes of thick glass, all panes are in good condition on both lamps. The porcelain electric socket says"made in USA" on it. The decorative handles are lovely and I can only see ... moreone tiny stress crack(shown in photos) on one lamp. Otherwise, they show typical wear for their age. Each of them has a stem that leads to a wall mount plate, there is about 5" between the lamp and the flush side of the mount. One has the original screw taped to the back. Electric cord clipped from back, these lamps have not been tested but I see no reason why they would not work as all wiring seems intact. Perfect for a restoration project to add a very stately touch to your home. Sold"as is" Payment due within 3 days of sale. Up for auction is a oil painting I bought years ago at a flea market. And it was not cheap.lol I was told it is a 19th century oil on iron, but I am unsure which it is tin or iron. It is heavy. I bought it because I just liked it, the patina is awesome. i have no idea of the value. Measures painting only 15.5 x 19.25 inches, with frame it measures 19" x 22.5" The painting is old and I am not an art dealer. I just buy what I like. It has a ghostly like look and that is why I bought it kinda mysterious looking. It has a lot of age. Frame has Knicks and paint loss, but feels sturdy. It has been fine hanging in my home for years. It is in very good condition an d mounts to the wall beautifully. It does have a small part that looks like it b roke off a t one time at the tip. The third picture show s the ver y high est tip of the wrought iron is flat. It possibly was made that way. But I am not sure. It measures approx. 12" long and 8" tall. It reads"PAT' D JUNE 1 1881" which is imprinted in the wrought iron(see third pic) The glass oil lamp is in very good condition and free from chips or cracks. Rare Antique Brass Adjustable Height Nautical Oil Lantern
This unusual lantern has a double handle the back and one at the top. It was made by a quality company with its heavy weight and sturdy construction. The thick glass cylindrical chimney is rough at the top with a chip and has an inch crack at the bottom. The brass hooded flip top has round holes on each side so that the wick can get air and give more light. Perforations beneath the cylinder shade for air, and a clip to secure the hooded top. With the handle up the lantern is approx. 10.25” high. And 14.75” high when the adjustable stem is shown and the lantern is elevated. I found no maker’s name on the lantern. The reflector on the inside back will definitely reflect the light once it is polished. This is a really nice vintage piece. It is a miniature whale oil lamp unlike any I've seen before. It's almost the early version of the modern night light. It is a set of 5. salt& pepper. Oil& vinegar, a mustard jar. The oil jars measure 8 and 1/2-inches tall, the salt and pepper jars measure 7 and 1/2-inches tall, and the mustard jar measures 5 and 1/2-inches tall. The glass is a deep ruby color with a band of clear cut around the neck of the jars. The antique stand is stamped from Wilcox Silverplate Company 3514. It is engraved on the bottom dating it back to the late 19th century. This late 19th century to earliest 20th century French cruet stand(oil& vinegar) is a stunningly beautiful one for your table. I love setting a table with old French blue& white, and even mix in my sets of English flow blue plates and dishes, which make such a beautiful table for guests. This is the perfect French set for the VERY French blue and white setting, or for any fine table, for that matter. The decanters are original to the heavy and beautifully crafted solid silver stand, and they are without any damage at all. The stand is, as noted, fine old French sterling silver. The maker is Ferry, silversmith(Paris) though we have no further information about this maker, sorry. The Minerve#1 mark is on the set, which is the control or hallmark for their finest silver, rating.950/1000 pure silver, the highest sterling standard in the world. Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Grab a cup of coffee; hopefully you will find something you can't live without at a price that makes you happy. I have lots of different things this week. So if you have a few minutes to spare, just click on the link below to see them all. I'm always happy to combine items to save on shipping! This is a vintage copper oil lamp filler by Sternau& Co. From the early 1900s. This was also used to fill the burners under the old Sternau coffee makers and chafing dishes. It stands about 4.25" from the base to the top of the center finial, 5.75" from the base to the top of the spout, is 4-1/8" in diameter at the center of the rounded container. This has the original patina and I decided to leave it that way rather than polish it, as some people prefer this aged copper appearance. I'm not ... moresure if this is solid copper or plated, but for sure the handle and the little bridge between the container and the spout is copper plated, as what appears to be brass shows through on this area. This has a swirly handle and a long, thin, curvy spout that has a tip cover that is attached by a chain. At the upper end of the handle is a round knob-like pump that can be pushed in and out and seems to have a nice spring action. The finial cover unscrews at the top of the oil can. There is patina over all of the surface and some verdigris and darker patches that can be seen in the photos. There is one ding in the surface of the body on the right center area when the spout is pointing toward the left as in the first photo. The base of the oil can is stamped with the Sternau& Co logo(S&Co) surrounded by a circle with the words Trade Mark and Patented around the logo. The widest part of the font is approx 7 1/2" wide(at the two feathery leaf designs sticking out on the sides) The inside of the base. Where an oil pot sits(not included) is 4 3/4" in diameter by 3" deep. The glass base/font is in great shape and the colors include greens. Yellows, pinks and a touch of brown accents. There are some dirty spots and possibly some fading. It might come out nicer with a deeper cleaning and ... morepolishing, but will leave that up to the high bidder. I basically dusted it for pics. There are four seams on this glass font. The foot and the front/back don't line up squarely and you can see this in the first four pictures of the front and sides. There are raised feathery/leafy designs in the glass at the top and bottom edges and on the two sides. The two sides have a slightly different feathery/leafy design. There is also a wide swirled rib pattern in the glass. I believe the flowers are Cosmos flowers. Or something similar. I can see some heavy swirls in the glass. Which adds nice character. There are no cracks on this base. But I do see a chip which is on the rim where the oil pot liner sits, although the liner does not cover this rim very well. It could be possible this is not the original liner. The oil pot liner has some wear and some light surface rust. But that is usual for these old lamps. It is magnetic, so it is not brass. This is a nice antique hand oil lamp that is in great shape. I did some research on this lamp but was not able to find a maker. I did find similar shaped whale oil lamps in oil lamp books. But am not positive this one is of the same makers. This shape of whale oil lamp is most likely from the mid 1800's. This is considered a"syrup jug shape" and was phased out as use of kerosene approched in the late 1850's. The fact that these basic shapes were never revived is assurance that lamps of these types were not originally produced for burning kerosene. It goes on to say that"kerosene burners would now appear most inappropriate on any of'these' ... morelamps. And yet with the collar size the same as that of kerosene burners, it must have been a familiar sight in the homes of the 1860's to see these lamps equipped with kerosene burners and chimneys, burning the'brilliant and inexpensive new lighting fuel' This hand oil lamp measures approx 4" tall to the top of the collar. The font is approx 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point which is the base(not including handle) I can see nice air bubbles. Cooling lines, hay marks, swirls and manufacturing flaws, all characteristics of old glass. I do not see any cracks on this oil lamp. There is a chip on the very bottom of the applied handle, where the end was applied with a tool(can be seen in picture 7. It will not hinder its use, its just chipped on the design. It is still attached just fine. I found it by feel, not by looking for it, of course once I felt it, then I could see it. There are some light scratches and wear from years of use. There is a considerable amount of wear to the bottom from years of service. Looks like it was a well liked lamp. There is a smooth pontil. ANTIQUE ALADDIN KEROSENE OIL LAMP MODEL B-125 MOONSTONE CORINTHIAN
For your consideration is this genuine Aladdin kerosene oil lamp model B- 1 25 in what is known as the Cor inthian pattern(1935-36) This is a nice clean lamp that displays very well. It is good smooth glass with good shine and color. The collar. Connector and fill cap have not been polished so they display original patina. It is free from ch ips. Cracks and other defects. It does have the usual bubbles and straw marks common in this old glass. The bright spots are the result of camera flash.
