Each end terminates in incised cone finials. This bracelet is part of a collection of Asian artifacts acquired by a Lutheran missionary stationed in India in the late 19th century. In overall very good condition with only extremely light general wear associated with age and use but nothing untoward. The interior length measures 10 1/4" and the gap in the bracelet is 5/8" This is a wonderful and unique bracelet and would make an unusual accessory. SUPERB VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE CHINESE SILVER BRACELET -SIGNED with 5 marks-STERLING?
Loads of photos below- I wanted you to see how very special this stunning early bracelet is! I sold this piece some months ago on ebay(the high bidder was in China) It came back to me stamped as not having been picked up from the post office(I'm assuming that the purchaser didn't want to pay the duty/customs charges) So the buyer's money was refunded and back on ebay it goes- needless to say. I no longer ship to China. It's a superb, highly detailed piece, signed on the interior in areas(a total of 5 hallmarks) Quite hefty for such a thin piece, it weighs 23 grams. As you can see from the photos, there is some bending to the metal, not visible on the outside, one darkened are on the interior and age related wear to the metal. I'm not sure of the silver content- it does look like sterling to me, but I'm hoping one of ... morethe marks on the interior will give some indication to those who can read Chinese. Each panel is joined by 8 slender bars for nice flexibility. The panels are very ornate and have 3 pyramids each on them one in the center with 2 smaller ones on each side. Vintage Antique Chinese Silver Filigree Scrimshaw Flowers Bracelet
Vintage Antique Chinese Silver Filigree Ox Bone Scrimshaw& Painted Flowers Bracelet! You are bidding on a vintage Antique Chinese Silver(tested between.900 and 100% Silver) Filigree bracelet with Scrimshaw carved Ox Bone and hand painted Tiles of Flowers. There are 6 colorful handpainted inset tiles that make up this intricate and very impressive bracelet. Each in a setting of ornate filigree silver. Each Ox Bone Scrimshaw image measures 1/2" long, by 3/8" wide and the bracelet measures 11/16" wide from silver edge to edge. This is a very old Chinese Bracelet dated from the early 1900's. It is in impeccable condition with vibrant colorful flowers on each Ox Bone tile. There are no broken or loose metal work in each setting, in the hing coils that connect the settings, or in the clasp. The clasp closes with a nice snap ... moreand remains closed. The top of the pin when pressed down releases the clasp and opens the bracelet up. The clasp is exquisitely detailed in fine filigree! This bracelet measures 7 1/2" in length from end to end fully open, although one has to remember that the pin inserts into the clasp, so when the bracelet is closed on your wrist, it measures 7" This bracelet has a warm vintage patina to it, and portrays many different flowers and flower combinations. The bracelet could use a light cleaning only by a professional, and there is a little bit of paper on the back of the clasp(seen best in photo 7) that will easily come off with a damp cloth. I do not polish my bracelets, leaving that decision to the buyer. The firm was founded in 1865 and had 55 employees until it closed in 1917. Examples of the enamel work was shown at a number of international exhibitions. Including the Chicago World fair of 1893. This fabulous bracelet features 8 enameled buttons and one larger clasp button. I have shown close photos of the intricate enameled design. The enamel is beautifully preserved showing no loss. From an estate collection. This is an amazing and rare Chinese/Tibet Buddhism hand mala bracelet of HUGE carnelian beads of jade red color. Some beads have interesting inclusions. Each bead is different from each other. It has a silk tassel. This is an extremely rare piece with such large carnelian beads. Weight: around 598 grams or over 1 lb and 5 oz in my postal scale. This bracelet has a stunning pierced design of flowers. Vines and flowers. The hinge and closure are chased silver. I have not tested the silver content of the silver. The silver section is marked with a block CHINA signature. The hinge is missing a small rivet which makes the hinge just slightly loose on one side. The bracelet measures just over 1 3/4" wide. The bracelet measures 9" around on the outside so should easily hold a 7" or so wrist. The bracelet is quite stunning. The silver could use some cleaning. The wood is free from any damage.
