With deep serpentine seat rail, Marvelous Arm Chair, four nicely executed Side Chairs, and a very impressive pair of opposing Meridiennes. Presented in professional restored condition this marvelous ensemble has been professionally upholstered using the buttoned& tufted fluted design in carnation pink. Our restorer uses a technique closely akin to French Polishing when refreshing the old finish. The Belter Henry Clay pattern chairs have a distinctive outline. Carved Parlor Set Rosewood, Marble, Vintage Victorian, Italian Made Three-Piece
Here we have an amazing vintage rosewood and marble three-piece parlor set. Without a doubt. This set is of high quality. The bases are handcarved Rosewood and a fine craftsmanship. They are very solid. The marble is Mark made in Italy, so I assume that means the entire set including the wood is made in Italy. I can't say for certain and I don't know for sure where the bases were made however you can tell they're very well-made. There's very few condition issues however there's some missing finish, more so on one of the end tables, but also a couple other locations on the other tables. It's not a lot of finish loss but it's worth mentioning. The marble loosely sits on top of the rosewood but the way he holds it perfectly and position. The marble was definitely made to fit the wooden basis. There's one small ... morechip in one of the end table tops. See photo. It appears that one of the tables has a slightly lighter color wood, but it's really not that noticeable. For auction is a nine-piece Victorian parlor set that came out of a Dallas hotel. It contains a sofa. A gentleman and lady's chair, plus 6 side chairs. Two of the side chairs have been shortened for children. The backs of all pieces are pierce-carved with fluted columns on the sides. The three larger pieces have original porcelain casters, and the upholstery is in very good shape. The sofa is 69" wide, 40" tall, and 32" deep. It is a wonderful set. Up for auction is a nice set of Victorian Style diamond tufted sofa and 2 chairs. From what I can find on these they are late 1970's reproduction pieces by Guildcrest Furniture Industries. The fabric is buttoned and tufted and probably replaced somewhere along the line in a light plum or dark pink brocade fabric overlay. It has beige gimp against the original solid rosewood carved frame. Which is quite stunning. Rosewood is notoriously brittle and fragile wood, so it is unusual to find a set in this condition that has not been broken up. You won’t see a set like this for a long, long time. This set doesn’t look like it’s been used very much. It has hand-carved crests on the chair backs and couch back, scrolled carved arms, carved cabriole legs, and carved skirts, and still retains its original brass casters. The set consists of an oversized sofa, a gentleman’s armchair, and a lady’s sitting chair. The overall sizes of the pieces, starting with the sofa, are 84 inches wide on the outside, 68 inches wide on the inside, 28 inches deep front to back, 41 inches at the highest point on the back, and 34 inches high in the center, the arm is 22 inches high, and the seat is 18 inches high. Antique Victorian Settee and 4 chair Rosewood Parlor Set
Item up for bid is an antique Victorian Rosewood Parlor Set. It includes the settee and four chairs. One with arms. There are two larger chairs and two smaller chairs. I do not know much about this set as it was inherited. I am unsure of its age. The frames of the settee and chairs all have patterns with grapes as can be seen in the pictures above. It is slightly different on the chairs than on the settee. Obviously the upholstery is of different colors, but could be reupholstered to match. The condition of the set is good. But it is in need of some repair. The back comes off of the largest chair. I included a picture, so you can see the pegs that hold it together. It looks as though there may have been some repairs to the settee and you can see scuff marks on it in the picture. The items do have scuff marks on them, and there is a chunk ... moreout of the bottom of the wood part of the settee. Some of the seams in the wood of the settee are off a bit too, I included a picture of that. The underside of a couple of the chairs have the fabric torn loose under them, so you can see inside the chair. There is a chip off of the top of one of the chairs as well, on the grape pattern. I included a picture of that. I am not an antique dealer. But I am describing them to the best of my ability. Antique 3 Piece Parlor Victorian Set. This has a sofa and 2 chairs. They have medallion back on each piece. Very well done fabric. There is slight scuffing on one chair. Some of the joints on the wood need to be re-glued. There is a red burgundy fabric. There is raised wood carvings. There are some scratches and scuffs on the wood. This was purchased from a museum over 20 years ago. The sofa is approximately 66" wide x 37 3/4" tall. The chairs each measure approximately 20" wide x 36 1/4" tall.

Up for bid is an antique parlor set. Appears to be from the Eastlake Victorian era. Set includes a sofa. Two side chairs, one captain's chair with arms, and a rocker. Captain's chair and sofa have 4 porcelain casters each and other pieces have casters only on two front legs. Unknown manufacturer or exact date. Was purchased at an estate sale and do not know any of the history for this set. A previous owner has recovered the set with a soft burgundy and gold fabric. All upholstery is well attached and clean. Entire set could use a good cleaning, especially in the carvings/grooves. There are several issues with this set, typical of normal age and use. These include(but not necessarily limited to) top piece missing from rocker, top piece has been reattached to one of the side chairs with evident nail holes and gap, scratches, gouges, ... moreetc. tried to take pictures of all of the above. 5-Piece Carved Griffin Late Victorian Parlor Set
This is a beautiful late Victorian parlor set with a Settee. Gentleman's Arm Chair, Platform Rocker and 2 side chairs. It was purchased by me over 25 years ago and has been professionally reupholstered with a high-quality era-appropriate rose floral fabric. The wood is a dark cherry/mahogany color, but I am unsure of the exact species although this era used mahogany quite a bit. Each piece has a carved back. Griffins, crowns and 5-petal flowers appear on the settee, arm chair and rocker, and a simpler 5-petal flower and crowns appear on the center top back of the two side chairs. The joints of each piece appear solid and there are no rips, tears, stains, fading, or obvious wear on any parts of the upholstery. Each piece has its original wooden wheels on the legs(see photo 9) The rocker springs appear solid and functional. There is some ... morewear and tear on the wooden parts of various pieces as noted: 1) There is a small missing piece of the curl design under the R arm of the arm chair. The rest of the chair is fine. see photo 5) 2) Some small leaves on the carved floral design are missing on the rocker and both side chairs(see photos 6, 7, 8) 3) One side chair is missing the tip of a carved"bow" at the top of the chair back(see photo) All in all this set appears in very good shape for its age and could easily be brought to perfection by qualified personnel. Beautiful set of 4 Victorian Walnut chairs. These are in excellent condition with no repairs and they are very solid. The velvet seats could use reupholstering. I'm told these could be from the mid to late 1800's. They are heavily carved on the backs and would look great in a formal dining room. Each chair will be shipped in an individual box via UPS ground. Outstanding 5 piece victorian parlor set! The deep burgundy upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The mens chair backs are faded and the ladies chairs are a light mauve. The lions heads and inlay are perfect! Measurements: Sofa 46" wide 39" high Seat 20" deep 19 1/2" floor to seat. Ladies chairs 36 3/8" high seat 16"x18" 19" floor to seat. Aesthetic Movement 3 piece Victorian Parlor Set. Hard to Find!
American Aesthetic Movement three piece Parlor Set. Look around on Ebay at all the"attributed' to this or that maker" and their outrageous prices. This is a three piece set. Settee and two matching chairs. Its not a'high end' set but a set you would expect to find in prosperous Middle upper middle class Victorian home. Most likely it was made in either Grand Rapids or Cincinnati. Its not Herter, not Jeliff. The American Aesthetic Movement was a bridge from the more formal Empire and early Victorian furniture to Craftsman and Art Noveau. Common themes were Anglo Japanesque or in this case an Acanthus leaf design that goes up either side of the main settee and is repeated on the arm and side designs. This set has older upholstery that I estimate is maybe 6-8 yrs old. As is common with Red Upholstery(there is some sun fading ... moremostly on the settee) but it does not really take away from the overall beauty of the set. It looks like the upholsterer did good job. They did make a common, and wise, repair to the"floating back" settee design by replacing the"dowelled" connection with a lag bolt and side screws. This makes for stronger back. Some of the gimp has been recently replaced and you can tell the old from the new. Settee back is tight and the arms are good and secure. Obviously this is not something you want your kids jumping on. Its a formal parlor set. The chairs look really great and don't have a much sun fade as the settee They are good and tight. I have tried to describe these as well as I can. They are not"museum pieces" I originally planned to reupholster these in a two tone aesthetic pattern but I have carriage house full of projects and not enough time to get around to them. I have too many things sitting so here you go. Special Note: NO SHIPPING! I am happy to work with your blanket shipper. You can pick these up in Indianapolis as well.
