First is the neat little Japanese vase done in an orange glaze with a hand painted Geisha on it. This type of ware was very popular in the 1920s and is of pottery. It is 2 1/4" high and about 1 3/4" in diameter. The little cloisonne bowl is marked China but this is a very old one likely from the 1930's and not recent at all. Very nice condition it is 1 1/4" tall and 1 7/8" in diameter. THIS IS A RARE PAIR OF NIPPON HAND PAINTED SALT& PEPPER SHAKERS! I don’t want to remove the corks to find out if these have ever been used. As the corks are in very good condition and are inserted very tightly. Each shaker is marked“Hand Painted Nippon” on the bottoms. Rims(top& bottom) are lined with 24K gold. The holes on top are also trimmed in gold. Along with a unique scroll pattern. The issue date is before 1921. They measure 2 ¾” high, 2” at the widest, and 1 ½” across the bottom. They have a nice landscape scene of a windmill. Red roofed barn and a large tree. No chips, cracks or crazing, tiny specks as seen in photo#2. They do not look near as big as the picture makes them out to be. NOTE: According to the McKinley Tariff Act. All Japan-made wares exported to the USA were marked NIPPON(which means JAPAN in Japanese) ... moreuntil 1921. The bottom is marked with"Hand Painted Nippon" with a rising sun trademark, usually attributed to Noritake and likely dating between 1911 and the 1930's. The handled shaker features two pink roses with leaves bordered with gold trim. The top half has a pale yellow band. The piece is trimmed in gold on the handle, top, bottom and sides. The shaker measures 2 1/4" in diameter at the base. 2 1/4" high and weighs 2.2 oz. There are no chips. Cracks, fleabites or repairs on the piece. There no usage marks or crazing. I have for you this evening a beautiful example of porcelain made at the kilns of Noritake made during the nippon era of the late 19th to very early 20th century. This piece is made of very fine quality porcelain that has been cast into a unique triple handle mold design. This piece has been fully hand painted with a scenic design of a sail boat on a river and the handles have been decorated with moriage slip decoration for added tactile and visual appeal. This will make a unique and lovely addition to your collection and will display beautifully no matter the setting you choose to display it in. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This triple handle toothpick holder measres 2" tall and dates from the very early 20th century by the marks and design elements. A very nice salt and pepper shaker set. I estimate they are 1940's to 1950's. These were used pieces not decorative. There are a couple of nicks on the top edge of one and around two of the holes on top on the same piece(please see pictures) The gold paint is worn on the top of the other. Neither has a cork. Antique Hand Painted Nippon Shaker. For auction is an antique shaker that could be either a sugar shaker or possibly a large salt shaker. Is it decorated with peach colored roses with gold overlay. The top of the shaker has a ring of small raised gold beads around the edge and gold star shape in the center. The handle is gold with most of it rubbed off. This is a beautiful hand painted salt& pepper set with lovely pink flowers. Green leaves, blue accents, gold beading/accents. Just lovely! They are approx. 3” tall. They are in good antique condition with a small chip at the base of one(see photo) some wear on the painting typical of a 100 year old piece! There is no maker's mark. Colors are various shades of green with pink. Blue, rose and white color accents. Hand-painted rose flowers framed by beading decorate two sides of each shaker. Lots of decorative detail in each piece. Shakers are round with raised tops. No markings, one shaker has a tiny I 173 stamp. 2 Antique NIPPON PORCELAIN MORIAGE salt pepper SHAKERS
Two antique Japanese? Nippon? porcelain salt or pepper shakers decorated with hand painted roses. Gold accents and delicate moriage dots. The round shaker measures 3" high and is missing the bottom plug. The hexagonal shaker measures 2 1/8" high. Both are in very good condition- no chips or cracks, but a little wear on the decoration.
