Ancient Roman Ring Size apprx 6 (52mm) 1st-4th Century
Ancient Roman Ring Size approx 6(52mm) 1st-4th Century I am cleaning out my fathers estate. My father sometimes followed the digs but I am not an expert on ancient or medieval jewelry and artifacts. If I'm reading his notes correctly the prices I am listing these items for are the prices he paid for them or thought they would be worth if he was with the dig. It is not my intent to take advantage of anyone but some of the papers he had are a bit distorted so if you see something that you feel has been listed too high. Please let me know. By the same token if you would be good enough to help me out on some I may be too low priced on, it would also be appreciated. All in all, the prices should be more than fair. As I've said, if they're not please enlighten me on them. I don't want to sit on these items forever. This ring will ... moreprobably be one of the few you will ever see like it. I beleive this is from between 01-399 A.D. and still in the original condition from the dig in Rome. This particular ring appears to take the design of a legionary ring. They have not been cleaned to protect the value. I told you I was not an expert. But I've been around some of these site enough when I was younger, so that I'm not a complete idiot either. lol) I don't know the material it is made of, but it strongly seemc to br bronze by the characteristics anf corrosion detail, but other than go to a ancient/medieval appraiser, which is quite costly, I would rather sell them for a lesser price, to pass the savings to you. I think my prices should be lower than you can buy them for in the open market. He was on this dig and I think it was in the 90s if I remember correctly this ring and the earrings that are for sale on my ads came from the same dig To protect yourself please take a picture and information to your own apppraiser or collector. I know more than the average novice out there but I am far from an archeologist nor am I an appraiser. I am only trying to be fair with everyone and clean out the estate. I
