Old Antique Dempster Farm Hand Pump - Use on Water Well or as Garden Art -
This is a Dempster hand pump. I was cleaning out behind my shop. And saw the bottom half of this pump. Somewhere, I remembered seeing the top of the pump, and the search was on. I told my dog. Who knows more than I do, what I was looking for, and he went into his dog house. It was not in there, but his pet cat was. Obviously I found the missing pump action and handle. I matched them up. And here they are, barn fresh! I am leaving it as I found it. All I did was use an air gun to blow some spiders away. It measures 14 inches tall. There are no cracks or breaks. I have another Dempster pump. It is the large type, stands about 4 feet tall, and a jack pump for a windmill. Those will be listed later, after you bid on this one. The markings I could find were McDonald and Debuque. I unsure if it is in working condition. It could be the handle appears to move up and down pretty freely. Antique Vintage Collectable Cast Iron Hand Water Pump W&B Douglas Middletown, CT
This old cast iron hand water pump has W&B Douglas and the number 2 on one side and Midd Conn on the other side. Handle moves up and down and there is part of the pumping plunger on the end of the rod as shown in the pictures. Don't know if it could be reconditioned to pump or not but would make a great display piece for your garden or mounted on an old cast iron sink. It measures approx. 15 inches tall. Base is 4 inches, mounting flange is 6 inches edge to edge. The handle is approx. 22 inches long. Weights about 20 pounds. Very little rust as shown in the pictures.

Antique Cast Iron Dempster Well Pump ~Farm Water Hand Pump Hit Miss Homesteading
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this antique cast iron. Dempster Well Pump. This pump is in great condition, it was found at an old farm estate in Central Iowa where the pump had been sitting unused on an old well for many years. It has been cleaned, given two coats of primer and red enamel paint then detailed in white to keep it looking great for many years to come. All of the old rusted stuck nuts and bolts have been replaced and the pump can easily be re-plumbed to pump water. As you can see in the pictures, the pump is marked with raised, embossed lettering that reads, DEMPSTER MFG CO” on the stem as well as having embossed part numbers on the various pieces of the pump. The way it sits now, the pump displays beautifully and would make an eye-catching piece in any collection. The handle raises, lowers and works just as it should ... moreand the pump could easily be reconditioned to pump water by hand. The old water pipe was removed from the body and a new one can easily be installed. No damage to be found. Overall height from the base of the pump to the top of handle is 43 inches.
