The phrase Ex indumentis is for"from the clothing" Most commonly used when referring to 2nd Class holy of or blessed individuals In proper ecclesiastical phraseology. Ex indumentis should only be used when referring to an article or fragment of clothing that was owned or used by a saint(or similarly blessed individual. In recent years. Contemporary manufacturers of relic medals, holy plaques, saint statues and religious trinkets have begun to label their items as being ex indumentis even though they are not such; rather. They are merely pieces of cloth or canvas that have been touched to an actual relic of the saint, then stamped out en-masse to be attached to their souvenir medals or statues. As such. They are 3rd-class relics and not 2nd-class relics, as the phrase ex indumentis implies. FREE SHIPPING! On Jul-23-14 at 09:53:23 PDT. Seller added the following information:

This is an extremely rare type of reliquary with a substantial relic of Saint Auralia. Martyr. There were 2 Saint Aurelias who were martyrs, but when I obtained this relic from the estate of a French Archbishop, the family had an inventory, hand written by the Archbishop. He had this reliquary listed as"Ste. Aurelie Peyronelle. Saint Auralie Petronell was said to be Saint Peter's daughter. But, if you scroll down and read her biography, you will see current church thinking. She was martyred in the 1st century. This reliquary is made of hand blown glass. Surrounding the holy relic is white wool. The relic is labeled S. Aurely M. It stands 4 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches in diameter. The reliquary is sealed with parchment. And a red silk ribbon with a beautiful was seal. It is in perfect condition. I date this relic to the early ... moreto mid 1700s, Italy. This will need to be shipped double boxed. Priority. This relic is from the estate of a French Archbishop. The family asked that his name not be made public. But I am allowed to give this information to the new custodian of this relic. I am listing many Catholic antiques and relics. And I gladly combine shipping! I am very pleased to offer for your consideration this beautiful and rare relic. Linen(2" by 2" that wiped of some rust from the Chains of St. Peter Apostle) affixed to the authentic dated 1865. Seal and threads unbroken and all in place. For public or private veneration. The linen is present just under the reddish protective paper. The authentic is 12" by 16" St. Peter. The first pope, was imprisoned on 2 separate occasions during his 25 year reign as the Vicar of Christ. The pious Eudocia, wife of Emperor Teodosio II, journeyed to Jerusalem and found the chain that had bound Peter during his second imprisonment. According to the Acts of the Apostles(12:6) an angel caused the chains to fall from Peter's hands and led him past slumbering guards to freedom. The chain was eventually given as a gift to Pope St. Leo the ... moreGreat(440-461) In Rome there was already a chain that was greatly prized which had bound the saint during his nine month imprisonment in the Mamertine Prison near the Forum. When the pope compared the two chains, they miraculously fused together into one unbreakable series of links. Because of this miracle, Empress Eudocia built the Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains, and dedicated it to the apostle in the year 442. The relic is now kept in a golden urn beneath the high altar, close to the famous statue of Michelangelo's Moses. St. Peter was crucified in the year 67. He requested to be nailed to the cross upside-down, because he did not feel worthy to die in the same manner as his Saviour, Jesus Christ. As per Ebay new rules. Hello! I am back in the USA after spending August in France and Northern Italy acquiring an unbelievable collection of relics. Rosaries and Catholic antiques and artwork! This is a large reliquary from the Archbishop's private collection. It is very unusual.it measures 12" high and is quite heavy. Flanking the multi reliquary are 2 soldiers in armor. The reliquary contains 10 rare first class relics: Saint Philomena. Saint John the Baptist, Saint Rose of Lima, Saint Joseph, Spouse of BVM, cloak) Ex Praesepio DNJC. From the crib/manger of our Lord Jesus, Domus Laurentus, the house of the holy family in Loretto, Saint Peter Apostle, Saint Paul Apostle, Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, and Saint Lawrence Lev, Martyr. 10 relics in all. The back has a beautiful red wax seal. Inside he back cover is a very old piece of paper with a signature flourish ... moreand the word ROYAL, which I feel has something to do with the royal guards dressed in armor, and the fact that this is from France, where so many royal families lived, in hiding, after the French Revolution. Many Bishops and clergy were persecuted during the revolution. This reliquary comes from the estate of a French Archbishop who had an extensive collection of relics and reliquaries. A short biography will be given to the relic's new custodian. The last pic shows some of the the treasures I carried back from Europe this summer. I gladly combine shipping! Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was first a follower of John the Baptist and then became the first apostle of Jesus. Andrew introduced his brother Simon to Jesus. The name Peter, meaning'rock' was selected by Jesus to indicate the he would be the rock-like foundation on which the Church would be built. Peter was a faithful follower of Jesus although at the Last Supper Jesus predicted that Peter would deny him three times following his death. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. At the time of the arrest of Jesus, Peter cut off the ear of a servant of the high priest with a sword but then, as had been predicted, he denied three times that he had never known Jesus. Peter then travelled to spread the Gospel and was in Rome in 63/64AD during the rule of the Roman Emperor Nero(r.54-68) In 64 AD Nero set fire to Rome and blamed the Christians for its destruction. Peter was one of the Christians who was taken prisoner and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. Saint P

St Peter Claver"Ex Indumentis" Relic of Saint Blessed to Relic of Saint Your Relic will be Blessed to 40 Relics on the Altar Saint Peter Claver. Confessor P eter Claver was a Spanish Jesuit. In Majorca he fell in with the holy lay-brother Alphonsus Rodriguez. Who, having already learned by revelation the saintly career of Peter, became his spiritual guide, foretold to him the labours he would undergo in the Indies, and the throne he would gain in heaven. Ordained priest in New Granada, Peter was sent to Cartagena, the great slave-mart of the West Indies; and there he consecrated himself by vow to the salvation of those ignorant and miserable creatures. For more than forty years he laboured in this work. He called himself'the slave of the slaves. He was their apostle, father, physician, and friend. He fed them, nursed them with ... morethe utmost tenderness in their loathsome diseases, often applying his own lips to their hideous sores. His cloak, which was the constant covering of the naked, though soiled with their filthy ulcers, sent forth a miraculous perfume. His rest after his great labours was in nights of penance and prayer. However spent he might be, when news arrived of a fresh slave-ship, Blessed Peter immediately revived, his eyes brightened, and he was at once on board amongst his dear slaves, bringing them comfort for body and soul. A false charge of reiterating baptism for a while stopped his work. He submitted without a murmur till the calumny was refuted, and then God so blessed his toil that 40,000 negroes were baptized before he went to his reward in 1654. Charity to our Neighbor. W hen you see any one standing in need of your assistance. Either for body or soul, do not ask yourself why someone else did not help him, but think to yourself that you have found a treasure. Do thou seek nothing in this world save that which Jesus Christ Himself has sought-to sanctify souls, to work, to suffer, nay, to die for their salvation.Blessed Peter Claver. W hen Easter came. This is an authentic linen Veil of Veronica. Licensed by the Vatican to have the image of the Sacred Face of Christ impressed upon this piece of linen, which is then touched to the original Veil of Veronica, and blessed by the Church, where it is stored in St. Peter's Basilica, the Apostle of Rome. Veronica was said to be the lady who used her veil to wipe the blood and tears from Jesus' face as he bore the execution cross through the streets to his eventual death. Later. When the veil was being examined, the image appeared and intensified on it. The Church began a tradition of removing the Veil of Veronica from its storage place and displaying it during the Easter celebation at St Peter's, and from 1874 for about 40 years, these imprinted images on similar linen were allowed to be touched to the orignal Veil and were either given ... moreto or purchased by visitors to the shrine. Our Veil of Veronica dates between these years, 1874 and 1921(when I find the last mention of Fr Lepidi) It likely has come through a former Catholic church in our community. St. Casimer's, which was situated in a Polish immigrant neighborhood. The church was razed several years ago and it's members consolidated into other neighborhood churches in the city. The original wooden frame is in poor condition. With chips in the plaster trim, but it still has the original wooden back cover. It is clean and odor free. The linen measures 12" long by 8 1/2" wide. St. Peter First Apostle of Jesus"Gatekeeper of Heaven" Relic Locket with Star and Golden Like Treads 1 Holy Card of St Peter + Certificates(Copies of Originals) Cloth Relic This Beautiful Relic Locket Comes with Holy Card ================= Saint Simon Peter. According to the New Testament, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, leaders of the early Christian Church. The Roman Catholic Church considers him to be the first pope, ordained by Jesus in the"Rock of My Church" dialogue in Matthew 16:18. The ancient Christian churches all venerate Peter as a major saint and associate him with the foundation of the church in Rome, but differ about the authority of his successors in present-day Christianity. The New Testament indicates that Peter was the son of John(or Jonah or Jona) and was from the village of Bethsaida ... morein the province of Galilee or Gaulanitis. His brother Andrew was also an apostle. According to New Testament accounts. Peter was one of twelve apostles chosen by Jesus from his firstdisciples. Originally a fisherman, he played a leadership role and was with Jesus during events witnessed by only a few apostles, such as the Transfiguration. According to the gospels, Peterconfessed Jesus as the Messiah, was part of Jesus's inner circle, thrice denied Jesus, and preached on the day of Pentecost. According to Christian tradition. Peter was crucified in Rome under Emperor Nero Augustus Caesar. It is traditionally held that he was crucified upside down at his own request, since he saw himself unworthy to be crucified in the same way as Jesus Christ. Tradition holds that he was crucified at the site of the Clementine Chapel. His mortal remains are contained in the underground Confessio of St. Peter's Basilica, where Pope Paul VI announced in 1968 the excavated discovery of a first-century Roman semetery. Every June 29 since 1736, a life-size statue of Saint Peter has been crowned in St. Peter's Basilica with a papal tiara, ring of the fisherman, and papal vestments, as part
