It is a coat sized button and measures 22 mm. The button is solid and the shank is present with a very minor bend. A neat thing about it is the original thread still wrapped around the shank. Backmark is illegible to me. Does have a push to the face as shown and some ground action. Recovered in Cold Harbor. VA. Up for auction is this Vintage Maimin Model 86 Thread Seal Commercial Fabric Cutter Machine. This machine is in Good working condition. I plugged the machine in and it powers on as it should. The knife moves properly. The machine is in fair to good cosmetic condition. The machine does show some signs of minor surface rusting but this should clean up nicely. The knife is 7” and cuts all types of fabric and materials. The machine comes with a knife installed. The knife will probably need to be replaced or cleaned and sharpened. Description: This is a Sewing Etui. Compendium dating from the 1700s of solid silver which stands upright on a base which was often used as a seal to close waxed documents. The seal is not engraved. The Compendium unscrews into 4 separate parts. The needle case is screwed to the seal and in turn the powder or wax container screws to its top and the thread holder is screwed above in place. The Seal of the Vatican secures red string around the paper attached to the inside. The string is looped through the back raised edge of the holder. The Seal of the Vatican is intact. Up for sale is an ever harder to find sewing item. An ornate early 19th Century antique sterling silver Etui case comprised of 4 pieces that combine to include: a sterling silver thimble. A thread holder winder, a sewing needle case with a letter"R" wax seal on the base. There is a crack through thimble approx. 3/8" in length on one side due age and use probably(see close up pic. otherwise in overall great shape and measures 3" high x 11/16" wide. Antique SEWING COMPENDIUM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AGE: c1700 ORIGIN: CONTINENTAL SIZE: approx. 2.75" x.5" BODY: EXCELLENT condition. MATERIAL: SILVER This is a Sewing Etui. Compendium dating from the 16th century of solid silver that unscrews into 4 separate parts. It stands upright on a base which was often used as a seal to close waxed documents. This particular seal is not engraved so you can put your own monogram on it. The seal is screwed to the needle case and in turn to the powder or wax container. Then in turn. The thread holder is screwed above in place. All the fittings are tight and the needlecase has a striking dotted design throughout.
