From Hebrew Hannah חַנָּה, meaning"favor" or"grace" of David's house and line, was the mother of the Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ, according to Christian and Islamic tradition. Mary's mother is not named in the canonical gospels, nor in the Qur'an. Anne's name and that of her husband Joachim come only from New Testament apocrypha, of which the Protoevangelium of James(written perhaps around 150) seems to be the earliest that mentions them. RELICS The supposed relics of St. Anne were brought from the Holy Land to Constantinople in 710 and were kept there in the church of St. Sophia as late as 1333. During the twelfth ... moreand thirteenth centuries returning crusaders and pilgrims from the East brought relics of Anne to a number of churches. Including most famously those at Apt, in Provence, Ghent, and Chartres. My parents. Who are now deceased, made a pilgrimage to St. Joseph's Shrine in Mount Royal, Montreal, Canada and The Basilique of Saint Anne de Beaupre in Quebec City, Canada. They brought back these 2 unused bottles of oil. From Montreal, the famous St. Joseph Oil that Brother Andre used to give to pilgrims to the Shrine to rub on their bodys with faith that St. Joseph would hear their petitions, and St. Annes oil which pilgrims to her Shrine have brought home for decades with faith that she also would hear their petitions.

RARE Estate Sale Find: Magnificent Vintage Reliquary + Relic Saint Anne
This beautiful reliquary(metal statue of Saint Anne and Our Lady as a child) with an attached second class relic of Saint Anne was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady in Westchester County. New York. Her family knew little about it except"she had it forever" When the statue and relic were"married" is unclear, the relic is a piece of orange thread presumable from the cloak of Saint Anne. The statue itself is metal, stands 5 inches high, has some paint missing as would be expected from such a vintage piece, I have given close ups of the relic itself, sorry my camera is not great on close-ups, please contact me if you have any questions.

I really don't know much about this piece. I bought it at a local auction. When I Googled the name inside of it brought up Saint Anne. It said she was Mary's mother and therefor Jesus's grandmother. I can not prove any of this and can't guarantee anything. It appears very old. The name inside says ANNAE MATR. There is also a small piece of something above the name. This is on a red fabric.
