Pii V. ~ from the ashes or dust of Saint Pius V It measures 1 1/4" x 1" The wax seal and threads are perfect. Ensuring the validity of the relic. The accompanying certificate of authenticity, or authenticate, is signed by Joseph Castellani, 1852. The wax seal on the back of the relic matches perfectly to both the impressed seal on the lower left, and the large printed seal in the upper middle. The way this Agnus Dei is set into a frame with red silk thread and a label reading Agnus Dei. Is the exact way I received if from the Archbishop's family. The way it is set up, the red threads hold the sacramental to the frame, but one is able to easily remove the disk to handle it or to turn it over and display the other side. The frame is made of metal, and silk backed board. There is a stand so the relic can stand on a table. The label AGNUS DEI is hand written in a scroll like manner, and it is covered with a layer of shellac or old shiny glue. This has preserved the colors remarkably. Found this antique relic cleaning up. Not sure if it was my grandma's or moms. It is a lovely small brass pendant. One side is a brass relief of Mary, the other side has a glass window and displays a piece of white or light beige fabric, helt by a tiny piece of paper that says handwritten in pencil(is quite faded, but can still be read) Pius IX" Pius IX was pope from 1846 to 1878. The pendant I would assume is from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Size: Slightly over 1" high(plus hanger) x a little under 1" wide and 1/4" deep. Condition: Good antique condition. St. Maria was a virgin martyr beatified(1947) and canonized(1950) by Pope Pius XII. The Portiuncula, Mother Church of the Order of Francis(where the Order of Franciscans formed) is near Assisi, Italy, where St. Francis lived most of his life. It is said that Christ spoke to and appeared to St. Francis in the Portiuncula. The S. This auction is for a very old CLOTH RELIC. In folded paper, of POPE SAINT PIUS X, Pope of the Roman Catholic Church and canonized as a SAINT in 1954. The paper as folded measures approximately 1 3/8" x 15/16" and contains a small piece of cloth. I believe that the paper and the cloth piece are quite old, and certainly date before his 1954 canonization, and probably date from not long after his death in 1914. The folded paper with its writing in purple ink, and the cloth are both in perfect condition. POPE SAINT PIUS X. The crucifex is marked“Terra Catacumba Roma” and contains a bit of soil from the catacombs of Rome. At first glance I believed the beads to be made of mother of pearl but after examining them more closely I believe that they are glass. The metal box includes a bas-relief image of Pope Pius XII who reigned as Pope from 1939 until 1958. I assume that the box and rosary date to this time period.
