Saint Monica: Protector of married women. Mothers and widows" One unique piece from our late father vast collection of religious objects and relics. His wishes were that we sell the items and give the proceeds to the charity. The piece feature the 1st class remains of St Monica of Hippo(331- 387) cloistered into a flower-shaped reliquary. The relics is secured by the original papal seal and come with original document from the Roman Curia certifying the bona fide nature of the piece. Beside the intrinsic and historical value. The object is priceless for the devouts. St Monica is one of the earliest know saints and St Agustine's mother. She is the saint protector of married women. Mothers and widows. Biographical overview Saint Monica(AD 331– 387) Also known as Monica of Hippo, Be. Timaniket) was an early Christian saint and the mother ... moreof St. Augustine of Hippo. She is honoured in the Roman Catholic Church where she is remembered and venerated for her outstanding Christian virtues, particularly the suffering against the adultery of her husband, and a prayerful life dedicated to the reformation of her son, who wrote extensively of her pious acts and life with her in his Confessions. Popular Christian legends recall Saint Monica to have wept every night for her son Augustine. Because of her name and place of birth. Monica is assumed to have been of Berber origin. She was married early in life to Patricius, a pagan, who held an official position in Tagaste(present-day Souk Ahras, Algeria) Patricius had a violent temper and appears to have been of dissolute habits; apparently his mother was the same way. Monica's alms deeds and prayer habits annoyed Patricius, but it is said that he always held her in respect. Monica had three children who survived infancy: sons Augustine and Navigius and daughter Perpetua. Unable to secure baptism for them. She grieved heavily when Augustine fell ill. In her distress she asked Patricius to allow Augustine to be baptized; he agreed, then withdrew this consent when the boy
Truly beautiful item. Please look carefully at the pictures for the detail to the piece. I tried to translate the certificate online. But please forgive any errors as it may not be exact. I did take a picture of the online translation and included it. An amazing, important piece, and I'll let all of the pictures speak for themselves. Certificate is the original and not a copy, the imprint of the border is raised on the back side of the paper. Some pictures were with flash, others were not, so note the following. Theca is silver in color, I left the original patina and did not polish it, with gold colored interior accents on/in the case and gold paper accents behind and rimming the white paper inside. Certificate paper is slightly yellowed as seen in some pictures and not a white color that may show in other pictures with a flash where ... morethe color is washed out. Pope Paul VI proclaimed St. Benedict the. The title piously exaggerates the place of Benedict but in many respects it is true. St. Benedict did not establish the monastery of Monte Cassino in order to preserve the learning of the ages. But in fact the monasteries that later followed his Rule were places where learning and were preserved. For some six centuries or more the Christian culture of medieval Europe was nearly identical with the monastic centers of piety ... moreand learning. Saint Benedict was not the founder of Christian monasticism. Since he lived two and a half to three centuries after its beginnings in Egypt, Palestine, and Asia Minor. He became a monk as a young man and thereafter learned the tradition by associating with monks and reading the monastic literature. He was caught up in the monastic movement but ended by channeling the stream into new and fruitful ways. This is evident in the Rule which he wrote for monasteries and which was and is still used in many monasteries and convents around the world(see) Tradition teaches that St. Benedict lived from 480 to 547. Though we cannot be sure that these dates are historically accurate. His biographer, St. Gregory the Great, pope from 590 to 604, does not record the dates of his birth and death, though he refers to a written by Benedict. Scholars debate the dating of the Rule though they seem to agree that it was written in the second third of the sixth century. Saint Gregory wrote about St. Benedict in his. Relic of Saint Erasmi with certificate seals are intact thank you. Here is a little history of Saint Erasmi. Erasmi was also known as Elmo. He was the bishop of Formiae. Campagna, Italy, and suffered martyrdom during Diocletian's persecution of the Christians. He once fled to Mount Lebanon during the persecution and lived a life of solitude there for some time, being fed by a raven. After the emperor discovered his whereabouts, he was tortured and thrown in prison. Legend claims that an angel released him and he departed for Illyricum, eventually suffered a martyr's death and was one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. Legend records that when a blue light appears at mastheads before and after ... morea storm, the seamen took it as a sign of Erasmus's protection. This was known as"St. Elmo's fire" The blue electrical discharges under certain atmospheric conditions have also been seen on the masks or riggings of ships. Erasmus is also invoked against stomach cramps and colic. This came about because at one time he had hot iron hooks stuck into his intestines by persecutors under Emperor Diocletian. These wounds he miraculously endured. His Feast day is June 2nd.
St Peter Claver Cloth Relic of Saint Your Relic will be Blessed to 40 Relics on the Altar Saint Peter Claver. Confessor P eter Claver was a Spanish Jesuit. In Majorca he fell in with the holy lay-brother Alphonsus Rodriguez. Who, having already learned by revelation the saintly career of Peter, became his spiritual guide, foretold to him the labours he would undergo in the Indies, and the throne he would gain in heaven. Ordained priest in New Granada, Peter was sent to Cartagena, the great slave-mart of the West Indies; and there he consecrated himself by vow to the salvation of those ignorant and miserable creatures. For more than forty years he laboured in this work. He called himself'the slave of the slaves. He was their apostle, father, physician, and friend. He fed them, nursed them with the utmost tenderness in their loathsome diseases, ... moreoften applying his own lips to their hideous sores. His cloak, which was the constant covering of the naked, though soiled with their filthy ulcers, sent forth a miraculous perfume. His rest after his great labours was in nights of penance and prayer. However spent he might be, when news arrived of a fresh slave-ship, Blessed Peter immediately revived, his eyes brightened, and he was at once on board amongst his dear slaves, bringing them comfort for body and soul. A false charge of reiterating baptism for a while stopped his work. He submitted without a murmur till the calumny was refuted, and then God so blessed his toil that 40,000 negroes were baptized before he went to his reward in 1654. Charity to our Neighbor. W hen you see any one standing in need of your assistance. Either for body or soul, do not ask yourself why someone else did not help him, but think to yourself that you have found a treasure. Do thou seek nothing in this world save that which Jesus Christ Himself has sought-to sanctify souls, to work, to suffer, nay, to die for their salvation.Blessed Peter Claver. W hen Easter came. Blessed Peter left the town to search the mountains for the negroes w

St Clare of Assisi St Clare of Assisi 3 Class Cloth Relic Born on July 16. 1194, St. Clare of Assisi was the first woman to follow St. Francis. At 18 years old, after listening to the Lenten preaching of St. Francis, she decided to follow him. St. Francis accepted her wish when she presented herself to him after running away from home. He cut her hair as a sign of her commitment to the Gospel. The first persons to follow her were her own sister and mother. Soon, her convent would be filled with other young women. She was privileged to receive visions, one of which was to witness the death of her beloved Francis who died 400 kilometers away from her convent. Her biographers described her as St. Francis’ chief rival in the imitation of the poor Christ. Once she said: They say that we are too poor, but can a heart which possesses the infinite ... moreGod be truly called poor? St. Clare’s prayers stopped rouge soldiers from destroying Assisi, and while still alive, like St. Francis, attracted pilgrims who wanted to see a living saint. She died on August 11, 1253 and was declared patroness of all those with eye problems. Novena to St. Clare of Asissi Copy of Authentic is included. St Joan of Arc Joan of Arc. A peasant girl living in medieval France, believed that God had chosen her to lead France to victory in its long-running war with England. With no military training, Joan convinced the embattled crown prince Charles of Valois to allow her to lead a French army to the besieged city of Orléans, where it achieved a momentous victory over the English and their French allies, the Burgundians. After seeing the prince crowned King Charles VII, Joan was captured by Anglo-Burgundian forces, tried for witchcraft and heresy and burned at the stake in 1431, at the age of 19. By the time she was officially canonized in 1920, the Maid of Orléans(as she was known) had long been considered one of history’s greatest saints, and an enduring symbol of French unity and nationalism.
