RARE: Vintage Altar Candles from Famous Catholic Shrines, Perfect Condition
My parents. Who are both deceased, traveled to many of the most famous Catholic shrines in the 1970's and 1980's. Whenever they could, they purchased an altar candle of the site. The candle of Saint Therese of Lisieux was purchased at the Our Lady of Victory Shrine, the church where Saint Therese was confirmed by Our Lady that she indeed did smile at her which cured her of her strange affliction(she had many scruples that maybe she did not see the smile, but Our Lady assured her at this Cathedral that she did indeed smile at her) and secondly there is a altar candle of Our Lady of Victory that was also purchased in that Church, both are in French. The candle of Saint Bernadette was purchased at her convent in Nevers, France. The item was manufactured by the Whitehead& Hoag Company of Newark. New Jersey for the convention held in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 12-15, 1900. The makers mark and a Patenting date of August 1, 1899 appear on the back of the“Delegate” section of this vintage Ribbon and badge. The item measures 3 ½” in overall length. The lower part of the convention attendee badge is unique with eight(8) celluloid disks. The disks include a facing and back disk with symbolism of the organization. Whereas, the remaining 6 disks are double sided and depict photographs of landmarks of the city of Cincinnati. This is a very rare. Very old metal statue reliquary, signed by the Flemish sculpture, with a second class relic of Saint(at the time of the reliquary and relic he was Blessed) Mutien-Marie Wiaux that was purchased at an estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady in Westchester County, New York. Her family did not know its age but said"she had it forever, bringing it from France. The statue, signed by Flemish sculptor Anja Daoust, is over 5 inches high, very heavy metal(maybe bronze, not sure) beautiful detail and really looks like the Saint, and attached to it is a relic with a picture of the Saint that says"Tissu Utilise par la Frere Mutien-Marie" translated is"cloth used by Brother Mutien-Marie" a rare find of a beautiful Saint. RARE Estate Sale Find: Magnificent Vintage Reliquary + Relic St. Rita of Cascia
This beautiful and very rare reliquary with relic of Saint Rita was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy Italian lady in Philadelphia. Her family did not know the history of how she obtained it. She"always had it, had a great devotion to Saint Rita" The reliquary itself is a 12 inch plaster statue of St. Rita, beautiful face with a bump on the forehead where St. Rita received the stigmata of Our Lords' thorn. It is a heavy statue, and has been damaged and repaired in the past. A close up of the neck region shows that is where the head was severed from the body, it has been repaired and seems stable to me. There are also some paint chips missing, especially at the gold base; the family told me they covered the exposed white plaster where the base was chipped with artist pigment called golden ochre, it matches amazingly well. ... moreThey did this before the estate sale. The statue weighs nearly 2 1/2 pounds, very heavy and fairly large(12 inches) The statue also has a serial number on the back bottom. The relic itself it a metal cross with the relic enclosed in the front compartment, it cant be opened and on the reverse side is an icon showing St. Rita receiving the stigmata(I have pictures of both sides above) What the relic is of I have no idea and neither did the family nor do they know when the statue and relic were"married" to create a unique reliquary and holder but again"its always been like that" but obviously the two were separate at some time. RARE Estate Sale Find: Magnificent Vintage Reliquary + Relic Saint Anne
This beautiful reliquary(metal statue of Saint Anne and Our Lady as a child) with an attached second class relic of Saint Anne was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady in Westchester County. New York. Her family knew little about it except"she had it forever" When the statue and relic were"married" is unclear, the relic is a piece of orange thread presumable from the cloak of Saint Anne. The statue itself is metal, stands 5 inches high, has some paint missing as would be expected from such a vintage piece, I have given close ups of the relic itself, sorry my camera is not great on close-ups, please contact me if you have any questions.

Which holds a tiny piece of Clothing Worn by Father Solanus( that of his habit) Rather than a piece of cloth that has been touched to the tomb, and although nice, are what is being made today and are common. This vintage badge measures about"2x2" inches and is crocheted in a tan colored thread. This is a vintage item being offered as found. It is not in pristine condition. This is a very rare item. It is a Mass linen with relics sewn in. There is a letter of authenticity sign by Cardinal Krol of Philadelphia dated 1967 and sealed. The Corporal measures 16 x 15 inches. The relics are Saint Timothy and Martyrs.
