Estate Sale Find: RARE Padre Pio Statue with Relic
I obtained this statue of Padre Pio with a relic attached at and estate sale of a French Catholic lady in Westchester. New York. Her family said she had a great devotion to him, they thought she got it on a trip to Italy to visit San Giovanni but they were not sure exactly when she got it. The statue is made of some very hard plaster composite, is 5 inches high, and the relic is attached to the statue, I have given pictures of both sides of the relic.

RARE Estate Find: SECOND CLASS RELIC: Beta Cardinal Ferrari, Archbishop of Milan
This is a very rare second class relic. A piece of clothing, of Beta Cardinal Andrea C. Ferrari. I obtained this relic at an estate sale of an elderly Italian Catholic lady, her family said she was from Milan and had a great devotion to this Saint. The relic itself is quite old, it was made when he was made a Servant of God, he was not beatified until 1987. The relic is in a lucite or plastic, I'm not sure which, holder which is in quite good condition for its age, some smudges but I dont see scratches or breaks. My camera is not very good, thus the close-ups are a little blurry, under his picture says"Second Class Relic(Clothing) of Andrea Carlo Ferrari(13 August 1850- 2 February 1921) Archbishop of Milan appointed by Pope Leo XIII. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 19 May 1987. Estate Sale Find: RARE Saint Therese of Lisieux Reliquary with Relic, wax seal!
This beautiful. Very rare relic with statue reliquary of Saint Therese of Lisieux was obtained at an estate sale of an elderly French lady in Westchester County, New York. The relic is a piece of the original coffin Saint Therese was buried in 1897, in 1918 her body was exhumed and the original wood coffin was replaced by a metal one. The reliquary itself is metal, says made in France on back and measure 6 inch high, wax seal intact. The auction is only for the reliquary and relic, not the pictures in some of the pictures. Sorry my camera takes only blurry pictures up close, anything blurry is clear in person.

RARE Estate Sale Find Second-class relic Blessed Isidore De Loor (of St. Joseph)
This very unusual and rare second-class relic of Blessed Isador was obtained at the estate sale of a French Lady in New York City. Her family says she had it for"ages" Treasured it, but do not know where she got it although they believe in Europe. It is a framed picture of the Beda and arranged on the bottom matt is a plastic pouch that contains what looks like either a cloth or paper package with two dark specks showing within the packet, these two small specks are in fact two small pieces of his coffin from when his body was first exhumed in 1933. Next to it are the authentication cover pieces that enclosed the relic from the Passionist Order and then a hand-written statement that the relic were in fact enclosed in the Passionist envelope and that the relics are intact and have not been tampered with, quite an unusual reliquary ... morefor a second-class relic. Its all in a very simple, very inexpensive frame measuring, the simplicity of the frame actually suits the dignity of the picture and relic. This magnificent reliquary with the hand painted portrait on porcelain of St. Vincent de Paul with a piece of his black habit cloth enclosed under glass in the special relic compartment. With beautifully detailed brass holding it all, was obtained at the estate sale of a very wealthy French lady in NYC. Her family said she brought it over from France years ago as she had a great devotion to the Saint of Charity. The believe it was made in the late 1800's or early 1900's by his order the Vincentians. It is 6 inches tall from base to top of cross and 3 inches wide, in excellent condition for age, a truly rare piece of devotional art with a cloth worn by the Saint. The wax seal and threads are intact and to show the age of this relic a close-up picture of the wax seal shows some deterioration with age. Another very unique feature of ... morethis Vincentians relic is that a very small medal of Our Lady has been added to the seal and threads, the family told me the lady spoke to a Vincentian father who told her it was the custom of their order in the late 1800's to add a medal of Our Lady to all relics out of respect for Our Lady and to further insure the seal was not broken. It can be free standing as the pictures show or it has a metal loop so it could be hung on the wall.

RARE Estate Sale Find: Magnificent Vintage Reliquary + Relic St. Rita of Cascia
This beautiful and very rare reliquary with relic of Saint Rita was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy Italian lady in Philadelphia. Her family did not know the history of how she obtained it. She"always had it, had a great devotion to Saint Rita" The reliquary itself is a 12 inch plaster statue of St. Rita, beautiful face with a bump on the forehead where St. Rita received the stigmata of Our Lords' thorn. It is a heavy statue, and has been damaged and repaired in the past. A close up of the neck region shows that is where the head was severed from the body, it has been repaired and seems stable to me. There are also some paint chips missing, especially at the gold base; the family told me they covered the exposed white plaster where the base was chipped with artist pigment called golden ochre, it matches amazingly well. ... moreThey did this before the estate sale. The statue weighs nearly 2 1/2 pounds, very heavy and fairly large(12 inches) The statue also has a serial number on the back bottom. The relic itself it a metal cross with the relic enclosed in the front compartment, it cant be opened and on the reverse side is an icon showing St. Rita receiving the stigmata(I have pictures of both sides above) What the relic is of I have no idea and neither did the family nor do they know when the statue and relic were"married" to create a unique reliquary and holder but again"its always been like that" but obviously the two were separate at some time. I am offering it a a low price due to the damage to the reliquary. Please ask any questions, I have tried to show as much damage as I can.

This beautiful reliquary(metal statue of Saint Anne and Our Lady as a child) with an attached second class relic of Saint Anne was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady in Westchester County. New York. Her family knew little about it except"she had it forever" When the statue and relic were"married" is unclear, the relic is a piece of orange thread presumable from the cloak of Saint Anne. The statue itself is metal, stands 5 inches high, has some paint missing as would be expected from such a vintage piece, I have given close ups of the relic itself, sorry my camera is not great on close-ups, please contact me if you have any questions.

RARE Estate Sale Find: Framed picture Pier Giorgio Frassati alive + in coffin!
This is a very rare framed photo(I think its a copy) of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati that was obtained at an estate sale of a wealthy Catholic Italian women in Westchester County. New York. Her family said she was from Turin where Pier Giorgio was from, had a great devotion to him(had 2 of these framed pictures, one in her"prayer room" and one in her bedroom, I bought both) the picture is of him taken the year before he died at 24 years old and the small inserted picture is one taken of him in his coffin when he died in 1925, very rare items. The frame is very inexpensive but quite effective in its simplictiy, measures 11 inches x 14 inches I also include some photos that she had in her home but this auction is for the ONE framed photo that shows him at 24 and an insert of him in his coffin, very rare find. Sorry the pictures are ... morenot so clear, the glass had alot of glare no matter at what angle I took the picture and my camera is not great, the actual picture is very clear.

RARE Estate Sale Find: 1919 Hand Painted Milagros/exvoto Our Lady of Guadalupe
This is a very rare. Dated 1919, hand-painted Mexican milagros(ex-voto) in thanksgiving for favors granted by Our Lady of Guadalupe. It was obtained at an estate sale in Baltimore from a very wealthy, devout Catholic lady. Her family said"she had it for years" got it they thought in the 1980's on one of her many visits to Mexico as a pilgrim to Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica whom she had great devotion to. They said about 5 years ago she decided to put the unusual story of how she got the milagros on the back of the piece so it would always be know how she obtained it and that it was actually blessed at the Basilica of Guadalupe in the presence of the actual tilma which the hand painted icon represents. The story pasted on back says"This antique Exvotos(offering) Mexican Milagros from 1919 was found in a dusty, cluttered ... moreshop in Puebla, Mexico. It is dated 1919 and the translation says'Thank you Virgin for curing me of my madness in my brain in the year 1919 at the ranch in Santo Roman' Included is the artistic depiction of the brain. The actual translation can be madness or insanity(in the early Twentieth Century chronic depression, anxiety, etc. were often thought to be a brain disease. After purchasing this beautiful thank you to the Virgin of Guadalupe, the exvoto was taken to Mexico City and brought to the Basilica of Guadalupe where it was blessed by a priest. The person who made the exvoto was most likely from a very poor Mexican family as it is made from one sheet of metal, probably something they had around the house, and it was bent so it can be free standing or a hole was put in the top so it can he hung, it stands 10 inches high.

RARE Estate Sale Find: Reliquary with relic of Saint Francis of Assisi, UNIQUE!
This very unusual. Beautiful reliquary with relic of Saint Francis of Assisi was obtained at an estate sale of an elderly Italian women in Philadelphia. Her family said she got it in the 1980's on a trip to Assisi, she was friendly with a Franciscian priest there, the relic was bless in the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, I dont know how old the statue is, its in good shape for its age, some paint missing. I have taken as close up pictures of the relic but my camera is not great, its says"Postulator Generalis O F M Cap ROMA" the statue is 8 3/4 inches high. The artwork in the center of the relic is the coat of arms of the Franciscian Order.

RARE Estate Sale Find: Glass Enclosed Icon Shrine of Saint Fastina from Poland
This is a very rare glass enclosed Icon of Saint Faustina that was obtained at the estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady from Boston. Her family said she got it when St. Faustina was canonized in 2000 when she visited the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Poland at the convent where Saint Faustina spent her religious life. The women had a deep devotion to Divine Mercy. It is an icon, could also be used as paperweight as all enclosed in glass, very heavy and back seems to be a slate like material, offered at very low price.
