Large Antique Embroidered Detente/Scapular Virgin Mary Peru
This large antique embroidered detente or scapular is from the early 1900s from Peru. It depicts the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary with two cherub angels and roses. The detente is silk embroidery with glass gems and beads. And the face and hands of the Virgin Mary and the cherubs are paper cut-outs from a print. The detente is 6" X 8" not including the ribbon bow on the top. Condition: the front has some slight discoloration/staining to the background. The back is noticeably stained.
