Antiques Judaica Cairo Sterling Silver Rosewater Besamim Hadvalah Dove This beautiful silver rosewater sprinkler is a beautiful addition to any collection. It is stamped no less than 12 times with an Egyptian hallmark from the early 20th century(see photos) It stands on a base of five leaves. And the body is decorated with flowers and leaves. The screw-top spout is fitted at the lower end with three branches, each pierced with leaves and mounted with a dove. The top of the spout is also mounted with another dove. Each dove is stamped with a maker's mark, the spout is stamped twice, each of the three leaves of the spout are stamped near the bottom, and the body is stamped near the top, base, and underneath the base(the photos show some of the stamps, with a close-up of the clearest one) The repeated stamping indicate the pride and quality ... moreof this piece. This type of item was commonly used by Sephardic Jews for Besamim during the Havdalah ceremony. A similar item was auctioned by Christie's in Amsterdam in June 1991(see enclosed catalogue scan) This item stands approximately 7.5 inches tall. And weighs approximately 5.6 ounces. MEASUREMENTS: Pot: 7.5’H. Approx 5’ wide in the body, Creamer: 3’high. 3’wide. Sugar: 4’High to top of lid knob, 3.5’ wide. Tray: 10’ Diameter. DESCRIPTION: A very charming. Individual, 3 piece coffee set with tray. All pieces are sterling and are stamped with a mark that denotes they were made in Germany, circa 1889. The tray shows only the sterling mark and has a complimentary fluted design around the edges. Both the creamer and lidded sugar have a gold wash on the inside. The coffee pot does not. Each piece is footed, oval in shape and has an elegant fluted design which is carried to the lids, knobs and handles. All pieces are in very good condition. The tray, although not dented, does have scratches on it’s surface. The whole set is delightful and pleasing to the eye.

An unusual pair of very nice quality Middle Eastern/ Arabic silver cuff links. They are unmarked but test as high grade silver and date to c1940 made by the Marsh Arabs of Iraq. They have been beautifully designed being decorated with niello scenes of palm trees. A boat, and the Arch of Ctsiphon- note the fronts have been made in the form of love hearts- this is very unusual. They are in perfect condition being free from dings splits and repairs- one of the loops on the back of the hearts has been pushed to one side, it doesn't effect it in any way and most likely just how it was made. Here's collectible sterling silver Dessert set by Sheffield by Atkins Bros it has original fitted box this mark used from 1853 by harry wright atkin and after 1905 by his son harry atkin the set consists of 12pcs-6pc of forks and 6pc of knives Atkin Brothers business traces his origin to Thomas Law. A silversmith active in Sheffield from c. 1750 to 1775. He was one of the only two firms combining the trades of cutlers and general silversmiths. The business was continued by his sons John and William. And later by Joseph Law(probably the son of John, as in an 1830 directory he is quoted as"Joseph Law, late John Law& Son" In 1824 was entered the mark of Jos. Law. It is marked Sterling 8663 on the inside. It has a beautiful design on both outer edges. It is engraved with three initials which I cannot read. It weight in sterling silver is one ounce. It is slightly under 2 inches across and close to 1 1/2 inches wide. This napkin ring was brought from Snowflake. Arizona fifty years ago in an old ancestors trunk. It has been in my Grandmothers dresser all these years. I would guess it is over 100 years old because it was found with items dated to the 1890s. To maintain it's original integrity this piece has not been professionally cleaned and therefore it bares some surface debris and tarnish. A very unusual novelty Japanese export silver cruet set. Both pieces(salt/pepper or both peppers) are hallmarked STERLING 950 and date to c1930-1940. They have been imaginatively and intricately made in the form of musical instruments known as Shamisen. They have small sliding doors to their reverse allowing them to be filled. Antiques Glass with Sterling Silver Inlay Bowl and Candle Holder Set
For sale is an antique glass with Sterling Silver inlay scalloped bowl and matching candle holder set(1930s-1951) It was made by Paden City Glass Company. Largo" pattern. The scalloped bowl is 12" in diameter, 3.25" high and 6" base. The candle holders are 4" high, base is 4.25" diameter and the top 13/4" diameter. The sterling silver inlay is tarnished due to age and has silver trim around the entire top of the bowl. The matching candle holders have sterling silver inlay on the base and silver trim around the entire top. These pieces were 25th Anniversary present to our grandmother who past away in 1950's.
