1942 Steinway Hepplewhite Upright Piano Originally purchased new in 1942 this Elegant Steinway upright is an extremely rare find especially in this unmolested condition. Not one thing has been changed since the day it left the factory and the piano plays impeccably. Typically you find them with a very bright tone but with a little voicing this piano sounds like one of their grands. Cabinet finish is original and as the pictures show other then the typical"patina" expected on a piano of this age it flawless. Gorgeous antique Federal chest of drawers. Four graduated. Full length drawers. Wood looks like mahogany with remarkable contrasting diamond pattern inlay work bordering the edges of the drawer faces and down the sides of the front of the piece. Dovetail joints in all of the drawers as well as oval mount, bail handle drawer pulls. The drawer pulls are not original to the piece. Inlaid, shield shaped wooden key surrounds. Turned feet show influence from earlier styles. Panelled sides and an overhanging, unmolded top complete the dresser. Piece dates from the early 1800's. This wonderful piece combines elements of both Hepplewhite and Sheraton design. Overall. The chest is in very good condition. There is some damage to the finish on the top of the dresser as well as some breakage to the inlay on both sides of the bottom stripe. It measures 36 5/8" high x 45 11/15" wide x 18 5/8" deep. This has a single drawer over a pair of cupboard doors. The doors have a lock and a key. This magnificent Hepplewhite writing desk was made in Grand Rapids. Michigan in 1920. It is constructed of sturdy mahogany and is decorated with delicate satin mahogany banding around the two front drawers and around the two top vanity drawers. The four feet are tapered and sit on metal mini-rollers. The desk is 42” wide by 24” deep and 36.5” tall its tallest point. Having an interlacing heart back with a serpentine formed seat rail. Being crafted of solid mahogany, this chair has an intricatly carved splat with a fan treatment on the base of the chair back. The seat is finely upholstered and is raised on tapered front legs with splayed rear legs which have brass screws reinforcing the back. The back of the chair was repaired at one point in time. Gourgeous inlaid mahogany Federal style sideboard. This contemporary reproduction has all of the hallmarks of one of these iconic pieces. The gracefully curved bow front shape is supported by slender tapered square legs. Contrasting inlay work decorates the drawer fronts and cabinet doors and cascades down the front in a series of bell-shaped flowers. The top drawer has been sectioned off and lined with green velvet. There is a serial number on the back of the piece. But there are no maker's marks. This piece is in very good condition. There is some light wear associated with use but no damage. These chairs have 19" wide seats that are 17" deep. Each chair has 20" high from the floor seats and are 33 1/2" tall at their back rails. The back rails are entirely satinwood inlaid with center Grecian kelix urns surrounded by floral and vine motifs. Each right and left posts are inlaid with a budding flowers. The chairs have satinwood sting inlay. Molded legs with molded back splats and splayed backs and legs. These chairs have been well cared for throughout their lifetime. LATE 18th CENTURY HEPPLEWHITE FIGURED MAHOGANY INLAID CARD TABLE ATTRIBUTED TO ABIEL WHITE WEYMOUTH MASSACHUSETTS With our compliments we are pleased to offer you this fine South Shore Massachusetts Circa 1780-90 Hepplewhite mahogany coca bola inlaid card table attributed to Abiel White of Weymouth. Massachusetts. It has semi eliptical top and base, a heavily crotched figured mahogany 4" apron with curved formed corners, three oval coca bola and satinwood inlaid panels, a fine inlaid coca bola& satinwood inlaid border running around the base of the apron and satinwood string inlay running around the leg blocks and the finely tapered legs. We noticed this piece was dry when it came in and gave it a feeding wax application before taking these photos so please excuse any shiny glare. This card table is 36" long, 17" wide and ... more29 1/2" tall. It has a hinged swing out back leg that supports the card table when its opened to its 34 1/2" width. There is an old professional repair to the surface of the table's top under the folding lid. It has a few light scratches that will fill in when we give it a tinted waxing and buffing. We just don't like to wax pieces until they are leaving the shop. We are constantly moving the shop around and the wax gets smudged when we have to pick up a waxed piece to move it. Lastly we noted a very small chip of wood gone near the left lower lid. We are sending this over to our woodworker for a splice that will be completely invisable. We have deep connections to the South Shore of Massachusetts and Weymouth. Abiel White was the decesendant of Mayflower passenger Perigreen White of Marshfield, Massachusetts. We are very proud to offer an Abiel White piece(we have only been able to find two in the last year) and we will see this piece gets the finest attention it deserves. Federal Hepplewhite 1790 Secretary Desk. Dating from the Federal or Hepplewhite period about 1790. This hand crafted secretary desk is elegant and well preserved. Mahogany with inlaid satinwood banding, the finish is very fine with a few mars and wear at the edges. Remarkably good for its age, this furniture has warm antique patina. Sometimes called a"butler's" desk because they were used by the head butler for household accounts and records. This desk was used with a stool or standing. Looking like a chest of drawers. It is only when the top drawer is opened, the release buttons are pressed and the front tilts forward that it appears as a desk. Inside, a saddle leather writing surface is in front of tiny drawers and cubicles inside. Pulls are only about 100 years old and not original. Antique English Mahogany Hepplewhite Slant Front Desk Circa 1810 Description: An English Hepplewhite mahogany slant front desk. Circa 1810. The desk features a gorgeous original finish and period hardware. There are four graduated drawers over flared french feet and shaped skirt. The drawer fronts have book-matched crotch mahogany veneers and cockbeading. The fitted interior(sorry for the dust) has burl walnut veneers, ebonized pulls and boxwood stringing. The interior cupboard door opens to reveal a drawer with a secret drawer behind. See photo) The desk measures 44" high by 39 1/2" wide by 20" deep. In overall very good condition. There is some minor loss to the veneer on the feet which we will restore for you. The desk lid is cupped which makes the desk impossible to lock properly though we do have a key. Antique Hepplewhite Mahogany Serpentine Sideboard 1800's Inlaid Federal Server
Gorgeous Hepplewhite Federal style sideboard. A serpentine front and tapered legs create clean. Classic lines. Inlaid borders and designs contrast beautifully with the deep-colored mahogany finish. Two large drawers on the left and one in the center provide plenty of storage space in addition to the lower cabinet. False drawer fronts on the right open on brass hinges to provide storage for taller items. Brass drawer pulls and key surrounds. Unfortunately two of the pulls do not match, and were likely replaced at some point. This sturdy piece has dovetail joints in the drawers and mortise-and-tenon joints visible in the back. Overall. The sideboard is in very good condition. There is a dark area on the top as well as some light scratching and other wear consitent with age and use. There is also some wear to the feet. One chair has a couple of nicks in the back of the crest rail but just general wear showing on each one other than that. There are no stains. Rips, tears or odors in the upholstered seats. The table has a double pedestal with reeded legs and brass capped feet. When the butterfly leaf is up the table will not close completely tight up to the leaf on one side. I do not know the maker or exact date this set was made. This set is vintage and will not be perfect. The measurements are: Table; 30 11/16 inches tall, 66 inches side to side and 42 inches front to back. It weighs 114 pounds. Offered for sale is a Stunning Baker Furniture Hepplewhite Inlaid Mahogany Demilune Sideboard/Server/Buffet. This bowfront sideboard features two deep drawers and four curved doors with storage cabinets. All with beautiful brass carved pulls. The top drawer has the Baker nameplate and a green silverware liner and the drawer below is a tambour-style with an arched surround. The mahogany features a gorgeous inlaid cross-banded border with inlaid stringing all supported on six tapered legs with spade feet. The sideboard measures 66" wide x 37" high x 27.5" deep. I believe this sideboard is 20-25 years old but I am not sure of the exact age. It may be older. Overall it is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: there are a few light scuffs/scratches on the top(see pic#11) and the back left leg has a hairline crack ... morethat extends from the foot upwards approximately 3-4 inches(see pic#12) This crack does not appear to affect the sturdiness of the piece.
