Up for sale is a vintage brass finish interior door knocker recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition and has a stylish form. There is tarnishing, rust spots and scratches throughout. It may be brass, but does not attract a magnet. This item did not have any mounting screws available when acquired. It appear to need 1/8" screws. The overall size is approximately 3 1/8" x 4" in size. A nice addition to a guest room. Small Interior Column Capital ~ Corinthian Capitol ~ Architectural Detail
Up for sale is a Small Column Capital that was for interior use. I think it is a Corinthian or Corinthian composite design. Maybe Edwardian or Victorian vintage. Or perhaps much later, I am not sure? It was probably an architectural detail from a mantel or other interior mill-work, but am not sure. It is about 3.25" in height and maximum across is about 6.25" at the tips of the projections. The circle or disc at the top is about a maximum of 4.25" diameter. The circle or disc at the bottom is about a maximum 3-15/16" diameter. The wood part of it looks like oak to me. The details are perhaps plaster or some other sort of composite material. It seems to have been stripped of original stain and/or paint. The detail material takes on a beautiful brownish patina probably stained from the removed original finish. It is in very ... moregood to excellent condition. The details are firmly attached to the oak. I see a couple of small losses to detail. But there may be more. One loss is at the very top between two of the projections. Another is a chip off the top of one of the main projection. There are a number of hairline cracks in the plaster or what ever material it is. A few small nail heads are visible where the detail was attached to the wooden base material. There is about a 7/8" diameter hole cut out on the bottom to receive the column which would have been below. Beautiful for any use. Even setting on a shelf.

Up for sale is this great barn find here in NH. Salvaged from an estate is this lot of 8 stained glass window plantation shutters. There are 8 windows total all red diamond pattern. There are basically 4 sets so you could cover two windows or 1 entire window. All the glass is intact not broken at all. I have not cleaned them at all but These are wonderful windows. the frames are solid although dirty and do have some black stains which could easily be painted any color of your choice. You get everything pictured here in the photo. each individual window measures 25.5 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide so each window is hinged to another with has a porclain knob on it. What theater this is I am not sure.but.Mr. Weber's photographs are well documented and it probably wouldn't be difficult to find out exactly which one it is. Although Mr. Weber is mainly known for his photographs of Harvard.he did photograph a series of theaters in the Boston area. Here is what the Harvard University Library has to say. Paul J. Weber was a noted architectural photographer working in the Boston area in the first half of the twentieth century. The photographs belonging to this collection were taken of the Harvard Business School from 1927 when the campus was first opened. To 1930, when the Dean's House was completed. Interior Decorative Architectural Columns with Base & Ceiling caps, Set of 4
FOR SALE BY OWNER* Set of four(4) Decorative Interior Columns. The columns are made of fiberglass and the caps/bases are PVC. The columns are 5-years old and were painted with off-white primer after installation by the builder which is why there is a difference in color at each end of the column. The unpainted area rests inside the base& cap collars. We remodeled our home this past summer and have no further need for the columns. There is no damage to them. The bases and caps have tiny holes where the finish brad nails held them in place. These columns are not load bearing. Although they are hollow so you can install them over a 4x4 post or other support beam. SPECS: The columns themselves are 71" long(5' 11" The bases are 4.25" high and measure 10" by 10" square. The interior diameter of the column base is ... more7.75" The overall height when coupled with the base and cap as installed in our home was 72.5" There is a little bit of flex to go taller. You can always cut the columns shorter(they cut easily with a hand saw) The columns weigh approx. 50-lbs In researching these columns I found them at various online retailers across the US and Canada and this set shipped to Baltimore.
