The piece is signed and dated, but not readable. The current consignor has a document providing the date. There are several pieces of molding that have been replaced and one drawer guide and several drawer runners. The lock, latch and hinges all appear to be original and work. The c ondition is as found. This chest measures over all 54 1/4" long. 24" deep, and 30 1/2" high. From the floor to the bottom of the skirt is 4 3/4" high. The two large drawers measure 17" wide and 4 3/4" high. The center drawer is 9 1/2" wide and 4 3/4" high. As the pictures depict, there is some damage to the drawer fronts. We have the original key for the upper lock. We would like to refer perspective buyers to a book we found most helpful titled"The Pennsylvania-German Decorated Chest" by Monroe Fabian published 2004 by Schiffer Publishing Company of Atgten. PA.
