Offered here is this Antique Curved Front Dresser Chest of Drawers. It is made of solid wood, I believe it is mahogany and has beautiful grain. It is ... morein exceptionally good condition, for an antique, but does have some light surface scratches on the finish, but not many. There are a couple of small areas of veneer loss. These areas are on the right side edge of the top at the back on both the right and left sides, and one small area on the bottom drawer front next to the front leg. The dresser has a beautifully curved front design similar to a bombe style. The chest of drawers has reeded accents running down both sides at the front that continues onto all four feet, which are straight and tapering. The drawers have the original oval bail pull brass hardware on them. The drawers have dovetail joints. The dresser is 40.75” tall, 42.

We are pleased to be offering today this unusual period four drawer Sheraton style bonnet chest dating from the 1870's. These are common in New England, ... morebut not in the rest of the country. They call this a bonnet chest as the top drawer is deeper to allow for bonnet storage being 10 inches high. The other drawers are 9.5 inches, 5 inches and 8 inches respectively. It has period hardware, that is a lion face with a ring going through its mouth. It has carved pillars going down both sides terminating in a Sheraton foot. It has solid plank sides that are not cracked! It has hand cut dove tail and scribed drawer faces. The overall size is 42 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 47 inches high. It is a good period chest at a reasonable price. Shipping starts at $325 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.

Antique Miniature Doll Chest with Hankie Drawers Salesman Sample 12” High x 12” Wide x 6 ½“ Deep*It is darker than it looks in the photos. The finish ... morehas a darkened aged look– beautiful. This is a wonderful old piece- I believe it to be about 1920 It has 2 handkerchief drawers on the top. There are 2 drawers side by side and below those. 2 large drawers. The drawer pulls are wood. There grooves in the 2 small drawers and in the bottom drawers. On the sides of the chest. There are grooves again, nice detail. When it is upside down the bottom is the bottom of the last drawer. Only one side of the center drawer is dovetailed, it was easier and cheaper to make that way. The salesman had the one corner as an example to show his customers. Condition: Really very good. There are no splits in the outside wood. A couple of the drawers have wood splits(inside) The corner of the back right facing leg was broken off. But it looks like someone shaped it. It is not noticeable unless you compare the sides. There is a stain in one drawer see photo. All of the drawers slide easily. It needs a good cleaning. Look at all the photos and ask questions. We pack well and ship quickly. We welcome questions. Smoke free home. Please check our other doll auctions.

Antique Wooden Machinist's Tool Chest in Great Condition I'm no expert on these chests. But this has to be very old. It had been leather covered ... morewhen new, because I can see the evidence of the leather in several places. Picture#11 shows the leather still remaining at the top edge of the chest. The dimensions are: Length- 19" Height- 14" Depth- 9" This is the wood box dimension, without adding for the hardware. The lock and latches are Eagle Lock Co. Terryville,CT. There is no key. The handle has to be the original leather covered one and the leather is not in good shape, but it certainly fits with the age of the chest. All of the latches, hinges and lock are complete and work fine, except for the missing key. For those of you who know more about this. I'm sure you can identify the brand from the drawer knobs and diamond shaped back plates on them. I'm sure it has been sanded and finished, probably at the time the leather was removed. Although the wood surface probably wasn't original, it looks like pine to me, and looks nice with the varnished surface. Please email me with any questions you might have. I'll ship by UPS or USPS Priority or Parcel Select whichever you prefer. It will weigh about 22 lbs. when packaged.

18th Century American Antique Pennsylvania Chippendale Chest of Drawers Dresser
Click for a slideshow of detailed pictures! American Chippendale Period Cherry Chest of Drawers Pennsylvania. C. 1770-1800 Item# 120109RPR08 This is a fine Chippendale chest of the period. Crafted in rural Pennsylvania during the years of 1770-1800 of solid Cherry. The top is crafted of two boards, dovetailed along the edges to the side boards, a fine curved molding wrapping around the entire face and sides, projecting over the facade of four graduated drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns capped and footed with turned capitals. The drawers are typical of Pennsylvania, incredibly solid with very thick secondary woods of solid pine, hand chiseled behind the hardware and each with original locks and pulls. The bottoms are hand chamfered, beveled to rabbet into the side boards and nail at the back with iron hand forged nails. The drawers ... moreare divided with cherry dividers, backed by half-depth boards of pine for partial dustboards. Three pine boards are nailed horizontally to the chest, the boards routed to create no gap, beveled along the sides with a chisel and nailed evenly. The chest rests over four scroll cut ogee bracket feet, replaced but almost certainly in near form of the original feet. The proportions and overall flow of the chest are beyond striking. With unusual width. This chest has a sense of presence that is treasured in works of Pennsylvania Chippendale. This is a piece you will certainly treasure in your collection, with a crispness to the fluting and carved molding that sets it apart. Measurements: 43 5/8" wide x 22 1/2" deep x 34" high Condition Report: 1. Early finish. Though not original 2. Left side is crafted of one board. The old shrinking crack is filled 3. Right side is one board but for a 1/2" strip along the back 4. Hardware pins are mismatched. Some certainly replaced, all of the period. We believe the hardware is mostly original, including all locks. Most locks still have original hand forged screws. No key. 5. Top drawer with square replaced patch on drawer botto

American Chippendale Tall Chest of Drawers, Antique 18th Century Highboy, PA
American Chippendale Walnut Tall Chest of Drawers Pennsylvania c. 1770-90 Item# 130105FAH17 This is a Fine American Pennsylvania Chippendale Tall Chest. Circa the late 18th Century from 1770-90. It is a gorgeous antique chest of drawers crafted of solid walnut featuring a rectangle top crowned in a deep flaring cornice with three small drawers over a gallery of five graduated drawers flanked by fluted quarter-round columns on each corner, resting over original scroll cut ogee bracket feet. The top is dovetailed to the case behind the surrounding crown molding. The case sides are crafted of two solid walnut boards. Each with wonderful tight grains. Each of the three smaller drawers slide easily over full length dust boards, protecting the contents beneath them from saw dust and dirt as they move in and out. Some strengthening has been done ... moreto the interior around these drawers, several boards added to strengthen the structure- these additions have not resulted in any alteration of the case and can easily be reversed at a later date if desired. The five stacked graduated drawers are solid poplar with dovetail construction. Each with chamfered bottoms that rabbet into the sides with nailed back ends(some tacks along the back edge modern) Bail pull brass hardware and plain brass keyhole escutcheons line the face of the drawers. The back of the case is constructed of solid hand planed edge boards secured vertically to the case, these nailed in place with hand forged iron nails supplemented by scattered modern nails. The case dovetails into the bottom board, each hidden with the only evidence of hidden dovetails found in the score marks in the corners inside. Each foot is original, with curving and flowing ogee form supported by replaced interior blocking(note the variation in oxidization suggesting much thicker secondary blocking) The back feet supports dovetail to the back feet. The attention to detail in every single aspect of this chest is typical of early American Pennsylvania craftsmanship. A fine selection
American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Bowfront Antique Chest of Drawers c. 1790-1810
American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Bowfront Chest of Drawers Mid-Atlantic States c. 1790-1810 Item# 120101KVP05 This is a very fine American Federal Bowfront Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers. Middle Atlantic States, circa 1790-1810. Crafted of solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, the golden grain flow is magnificent and unbroken. The top has an inlaid rim with stringer inlay outlines, rectangular in shape while gently bowing across the front to conform with the case. The drawers are also bowed, each with fully original oval brasses flanking original keyholes over what we believe to be original locks with ovular stringer inlay outlining each of the graduated four drawers. They are hand dovetailed back and front, with yellow pine secondaries, the bottom board chamfered to rabbet into the drawer frame and secured with glued blocking at regular ... moreintervals along the frame. Each drawer is divided by a solid mahogany bar, backed by pine secondaries that go almost the entire way through the case to form most of a dust board between the drawers. The drawer blades are hidden behind a thin piece of mahogany. Presumably covering the dovetail slot joinery. The back of the case features all original boards, many with original iron rose head nails, but re-secured with nails and screws throughout. An original yellowed hand written label is illegible, but still present on the back of the case. The chest rests over four French feet, each with just slight outward splay and entirely original blocking along the bottom. The feet are cracked along the grain, natural as the grains run perpendicular to the pine blocking, but do not in any way compromise the feet. A fine band of yellow inlay framed by dark stringer inlay runs along the bottom of the case to complete the chest. Original in almost every single aspect of the chest. This work of art is remarkably well preserved. As an investment grade antique in every aspect, this is a very fine acquisition for any serious collector of American Federal furniture. It will certainly be treasured

The case is crafted entirely using dovetail joinery, noting the sides which lock to the top with a half-blind dovetail, covered with a fine molded rim; the bottom mirrors the top construction, and the drawer divider bars dovetail into the face of the chest. These are of only partial depth, not full dustboards, typical of New England designs as it lessened the overall weight of the chest. The facade is four graduated drawers with bold batwing brasses, each replaced using nearly the same holes, the brasses of the same age as the chest. The drawer ... moreconstruction shows exquisite attention to detail, note the channeling along the top of the drawer framing, a design characteristic of Massachusetts(though also seen throughout other New England states) The sides of the chests wear fine brass carrying handles, each of magnificent proportions with original hand forged screws locking them to the chest. They are likely added to the chest, though since the chest would not have had brasses on the sides of the chest to start with this is difficult to prove. The chest rests on scroll cut bracket feet, mostly original with mostly original blocking, the right side of the feet replaced in exact replication of the rest of the chest. This is a gorgeous piece. A visual delight and crafted with utmost attention to detail. The cherry boards have a wonderful jagged flamed grain with just a tinge of the soft red hue associated with a natural cherry. With a clean overall appeal and a deep patina glowing through the high polish finish, this is a piece that will enhance your living spaces. A timeless design with excellent lines, this is a chest your family will treasure for a lifetime. Measurements: 35 7/8" wide x 20 1/2" deep x 35 1/4
American Chippendale Cherry Antique Chest of Drawers, Pennsylvania c. 1770-80
American Chippendale Cherry Chest of Drawers w/ Fluted Columns over Ogee Bracket Feet Pennsylvania. C. 1770-80 Back of drawer inscribed"Charles Davis" w/ faint illegible inscriptions beneath the top Item# 130206SWE15 An outstanding specimen of Early Pennsylvania craftsmanship. This chest of drawers is one that retains incredible character and history etched in it's worn and abraded surfaces. It's owners have been faithful caretakers of the chest, restoring breaks and losses without in any way altering the chest itself- though the feet have seen great wear, each cracked and broken at one point or another, every aspect of the feet have been preserved in full originality. Typical of much work from rural locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. The chest is constructed using large boards of cherry. The top board is molded ... morearound the edges, projecting boldly over the case, though this is softened by the molding that supports it's transition to the case. Large square wooden pegs secure the top to the case, driven through the top to wedge it into the frame in equal increments along the border of the top. A pair of drawers rest over three larger drawers. Each graduated in size and retaining their original brasses(locks absent) They are crafted of pine secondaries hand dovetailed front and back with a deeply chamfered bottom sliding into rabbets on either side and nailed in triplet with hand forged roseheads at the back of each drawer; along the chamfered edges. Triangular blocks are glued for ultimate strength and longevity(a few replaced, a few absent) The third drawer up from the bottom is inscribed on the back"Charles Davis" in script on the back board of the drawer frame. Flanking the drawers are thick fluted quarter round corner columns, raising the crown molding like supporting pillars; they are in perfect proportion to the size of the case, giving a distinct architecture to the form. The backboards are untouched for the most part, entirely original and retaining almost all of
American Chippendale Walnut Chest of Drawers, Pennsylvania c. 1770-80, Antique
American Chippendale Walnut Chest of Drawers Pennsylvania. Probably Philadelphia or the Delaware River Valley, c. 1770-80 Item# 130108OSP25 This is an excellent example from the Philadelphia or Delaware River Valley region of Pennsylvania. A fine American Chippendale Walnut Chest of Drawers c. the third quarter of the 18th Century 1770-80. Of quite desirable proportions, the chest has a refined presence with well preserved color in the walnut case. The quality of the chest is self evident, the top with a sandwiched molding wrapping around the rim, projecting slightly over the front and deeply over the back- this allowed the chest to rest flush with the wall despite the thick floor molding. Each of the graduated drawers has a molded lip of the solid. The faces solid walnut, the sides and bottom crafted of poplar: these are hand dovetailed, ... morethe bottoms deeply chamfered and slid into rabbets in the sides; the riven bottom boards run perpendicular to the face, nailed at the back with(mostly) original wrought iron rosehead nails with white pine blocks fitted in the chamfered edges along the sides. Original steel locks are retained in the drawers, locks now absent, the brasses replaced with period batwings- the chest had Federal oval brasses placed on it at one point, that owner drilling new holes very close to the original holes; the current brasses are in those same later holes. The back of the chest is joined with two original hand planed planks nailed around the perimeter. The top and bottom join to the chest with hidden dovetails. Evident in the score marks on the inside of the case. The feet are preserved in almost entirely original condition other than age appropriate repairs(noted below) the form of these ogee bracket feet is above reproach, a fine scroll cut swirl that has robust flare to it and terminates in a bladed edge. The blocking of the feet is intricate and likely the reason the feet have survived in such good condition; large triangular blocks support the thick corner block, these carved to fit

c.1780 Walnut ..Georgian Sheraton Antique Dresser Chest of Drawers Commode
This spectacular chest circa 1780 is an amazing Georgian Sheraton Style commode/chest of drawers When I acquired this beautiful diamond in the rough.I knew it was destined for greatness. I restored this piece from top to bottom. This is some of the most beautiful burled walnut I have ever laid eyes upon. This is a world class antique and a gorgeous work of art. You will never tire of looking at this beautiful chest, it is so rich and beautiful. The highly burled walnut veneer over solid walnut drawer fronts is exquisite. The chest is solid walnut. Other than the drawer sides, drawer bottoms and drawer backs which are solid chestnut. The left side panel is the most gorgeous walnut side panel I have ever seen, no question about it. The burling looks like a storm cloud/ball of fire. The cabinet maker was not just a craftsman of the highest order, ... morehe was an artist as well. The side panels are 5/8 inch thick, cut as one plank of solid walnut. The top is solid walnut with a beautiful shaped edge. The drawer bottoms. Sides and backs are all made from solid chestnut(possibly oak)Old growth chestnut is highly sought after by wood lovers, it is virtually extinct, now being reclaimed at very high prices, these chestnut drawers that I hand rubbed a finish on, they are gorgeous. The chestnut drawers bottoms are chamfered by hand planing into the drawer sides. All of the drawers were restored, some drawer runners were replaced/restored. The lower drawers have some side to side movement when they slide due to age related shrinkage.Notice the tiny hand carved dovetail, a fine display of the highest level of craftsmanship. The blackened iron hardware is new.The finish was restored with many. Many coats of hand rubbed polyurethane bringing out the rich and beautiful walnut grains and textures.Rub your hands over the lovely textures and feel the wonderful walnut wood grain and hand rubbed finish. There is a cabinetmakers mark on the back of the top left drawer it is black ink and looks like a Roman letter capitol"E" with a&quo
American Queen Anne Cherry Highboy Antique Chest of Drawers, Connecticut 1740-80
Fine American Queen Anne Cherry Flat-Top Highboy. Connecticut c. 1740-80 Probably the area of Wethersfield. Connecticut; exhibiting Pinwheel& Sunburst drawers, the apron centrally serpentine over pad feet American Black Cherry Primaries; Tulip Poplar secondary woods Item# 130508QJB12 With a molded cornice projecting boldly over the pair of stacked drawers on either side flanking a square drawer with a spinning pinwheel decoration. The case exudes presence while exhibiting wonderful proportions at only 71 1/8" high. The pinwheel decoration is of inordinate fine quality, the tight rays graduating as they swell outward, these given a third dimension with the impression at the end of each ray; the effect creates a tubular shape, almost suggesting that these pipes swell from beneath the surface of the drawer. A pitch substance was rubbed ... moreinto these recesses to create the ebonized effect within the carvings. Each drawer in the top and base are crafted with poplar sides and bottoms, these deeply chamfered along the bottoms and sliding into the rabbeted sides. All drawer retain untouched original hardware. The drawer blades dividing each drawer join the sides of the case in tiny dovetails. Three horizontal backboards retain their untouched rosehead nails, the only change in two hundred and fifty years being the addition of three modern nails to the top edge of the top board for stability. The back of the Pinwheel decorated drawer is inscribed illegibly in chalk. Possibly noting" M_ certify that ma_ rg_ see image below. The base is constructed with pinned tenon-mortise joinery. Securing permanently the sides and front into the square legs; likewise, the single horizontal backboard joins into the legs and is secured with wooden pins from the back. The chest experienced some pest problems at some point early in it's life, with evidence of mouse chewing throughout the drawer bottoms and sides throughout the chest; as a result, pieces of the drawers are replaced where the damage was probably too ex

American Federal Mahogany Bowfront Antique Chest of Drawers, Maryland c. 1790
CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING AMERICAN FEDERAL MAHOGANY BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS Maryland. C. 1790-1810; back of case signed"W G Roberts, Rockville, MD" With extensive restoration(feet. Backboards, hardware replaced) Item# 120104EEQ15 A very attractive and charming chest of drawers. The form is striking with it's clean symmetry and airy lines, the bowing of the front accentuated by the fine flare of the feet. This chest has seen some noteworthy restoration over the years, so while it is not an ideal selection for the purist, it is a very handsome object for most collectors and those that just enjoy a beautiful piece for what it is. At some point, someone reduced the height of the feet, probably as it was just slightly too high for either the ... morespace or the owner- this was restored by crafting new facings, the original blocking still retained inside of the feet. It is the only proper way to restore that kind of unfortunate decision, and the result is actually quite wonderful- the feet have life and blend flawlessly with the case. The back of the case is signed in pitch"W G Roberts, Rockville, MD" this then outlined in chalk(presumably by a later owner) but we are not certain the backboards are original to the case as there is evidence of mid-19th Century craftsmanship on at least one of the boards. The case enjoys the highly recognizable Maryland diamond inlay around the base. For the collector or anyone passionate about American antiques and furniture who doesn't require total untouched originality in objects of their collection. The restoration of this chest of drawers is honest and necessary in light of life and use. It is a beautiful chest, the surface early and with great character, while also being a highly functional piece with smooth sliding graduated drawers. Measurements: 37" wide x 20 1/8" deep x 38 1/4" high Condition Report: Finish is early. But not original. Some drawers with r

American Chippendale Walnut Tall Antique Chest of Drawers, Pennsylvania c. 1810
AMERICAN FEDERAL WALNUT TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS WITH FLUTED COLUMNS Pennsylvania. C. 1810-20 Item# 410KPP11A A distinct transition into the Federal Period. This fine Pennsylvania Tall Chest of Drawers exhibits the classical architecture of the Chippendale era adapted for the Neoclassical taste of the early 19th Century. Retaining it's original oval pulls, these with roses embossed inside an infinite double loop and entirely untouched feet, this is a particularly desirable object for collectors. The concave crown molding is bold, aggressively projecting over the unembellished case of three small drawers over five graduated full drawers. The sides of the case extend through the feet, making the interior blocking of the feet an integral part of the case and something permanent- much of the reason the feet have survived in such extraordinary ... morecondition. The backboards are untouched and typical of the period with neat rows of square forged iron nails affixing the backboards to the case. Each drawer is of fine craftsmanship. The tidy hand dovetails crisp and perfect, the pine plank bottoms chamfered on the sides and front to be set in grooves along these edges; all drawers are tacked at the back edge with three hand forged nails. Protecting the contents of one drawer is a full dust board, the other drawers with partial dust boards over the first one-third. Flanking the drawers are the deeply fluted Corinthian columns with turned bases and caps so commonly found in chests of this region. As a well preserved and absolutely stunning object of Early Pennsylvania. Particularly interesting for the meld of Federal and Chippendale designs and it's very fine craftsmanship, this is an outstanding investment grade work of art that was built to last and if well cared for will last long beyond our lifetimes. Materials: Poplar(most drawer framing. Backboards, dustboards, bottom and top) Pine(some drawer framing, drawer bottoms) Walnut(all primary surfaces, integral foot blocking) Measurements: 62 15/16" H x 43" W x 22
Fine American Chippendale Walnut Highboy Antique Tall Chest of Drawers, PA c1790
AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS OVER OGEE FEET Pennsylvania c. 1790 Item# 410QNP11W A bold and impressive object. This fine American Chippendale Tall Chest of Drawers originates in southeastern Pennsylvania, possibly the Delaware River Valley. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the cabinetmaker choosing vivid walnut planks carefully to showcase the most important and striking aspects of the chest. Note in particular the wonderful flowing grains along the sides of the case, the overall horizontal flow of the grain along the front of the drawers lapsing in random swirls and burls of the plank. The case is crested by cove molding projecting over three small drawers, two medium drawers and four broad drawers- all carefully graduated to flow harmoniously together. Noteworthy are the two drawers with patches, not unusual for these cases ... morewith overhanging lips on the drawers- these are particularly susceptible to being damaged when a drawer is closed unevenly or too harshly, as is probably the case with one or both of these drawers. The repairs were done rather competently, the restorer having to carefully choose boards with at least as much figure as the neighboring parts of the drawers. The drawers are embellished with replaced pierced brass hardware. The frames handsomely dovetailed white pine with integral runners mitered to accept the chamfered white pine bottom, mostly crafted of a single huge plank of pine, this tacked along the back edge with iron nails. The drawers are flanked by fluted corinthian columns with turned caps and bases, the whole case resting over very striking and significant ogival feet. They project an unusual sense of strength and masculinity, each with soft scroll cut returns and resting over thin blades. The back of the case shows the simple and tidy construction we expect from the best craftsmen of this region, the triangular rear foot supports dovetailed into the facings for a permanent joint. This is a very fine case. Crafted with utmost precision and care and retaining an ex

Antique 18th Century Walnut Queen Anne Highboy Chest of Drawers 1725-1750
Description Fine 18th century highboy with beautiful burl walnut veneer and cabriole legs ending in club feet. Made in New England. Torus molding below the cornice is the front to a hidden drawer. This is an earlier highboy and was made circa in 1725-1750. Provenance: Northeast Auctions. Portsmouth, NH. Dimensions 69 inches high. 22 inches wide, and about 18.5 inches deep. 69x22x38 Condition The condition of the highboy is very good for its age. It is structurally sound with nice color. The are some places where small amounts of the veneer is missing(see photos) But this is normal for a pieces of this age and I don't believe it takes away from its appearance. Also, the molding on the left side of the upper right small drawer is missing. I have just ignored this, but if it bothers you it would be an easy fix. The drawers all open, but ... moresome stick a little at times. Finally, the highboy is married-i.e. the top and bottom were not originally associated.
