And it has a beautiful antique off-white/beige finish color on the outside, see pictures. This is a miniature Lane Cedar Chest that measures 8.75 x 4.75 x 3.25 inches that evidently was designed for giving to a boy on graduation day. Or else for a basketball playing girl. It is stamped inside the lid"Sports Box By Lane" and on the base"C, 1996 The Lane Company, All Rights Reserved" If you are familiar with these small size Lane chests, you will remember how graduating high school girls, as far back as the 1930's or 40's, would be invited to go to their local furniture stores and pick up their graduation gift from Lane.a cedar chest for saving trinkets, jewelry, and mementos. I received one when I graduated back in the 1960's. This is an unusual one that you hardly ever see. The basketball court is painted on the lid in black, green, and brown. We believe there was a piece of tape used at some time to hold the lid down and it caused a slight“lightening” of the wood. For sale is the nicest Lane Cedar Chest I have ever came across! This is a beauty of a chest with a very nice black leather cushioned top and a very fancy front wood inlay and its on wheels. This chest is 4 Foot long. Stands 16" tall, and is 16" deep. Please note that I have removed the lock due to Ebay policy as the lock on it was one that automatically latches. Lane does give new locks for free however, you call them at 800-327-6944. This is in Beautiful condition! There is one minor scratch on the left side that you can see in the last picture and there is one screw on one of the back hinges that has been replaced. I got this at an Estate Sale and you can tell it has not been sat on as the Leather and cushion is in Pristine condition, no cracks, no tears, no wear at all. It is in good sturdy condition and the lock is functional. Vintage 1953 Lane Cedar Hope Chest #2687
This is a 1953 Lane Cedar Hope Chest with two working drawers. It looks like it has nine drawers. But only the two bottom drawers open. The pictures show the original lock and key, but the new issued lock from the Lane Safety Recall will be installed. The chest measures 4 feet long by 18 1/4 inches deep by 29 inches high. It does have some scratches but nothing in my opinion that is horrible. I have tried to show them in the photos. I have searched the internet to try and find more information about this rare chest, but I haven't found another like it. I contacted Lane to see if they could tell me about the chest, but they said the warehouse where it was made had burned and all files were lost. This is a nice Lane Cedar Hope Chest from the 1960's. It is in what I would consider to be very nice condition considering it's age. There are some minor scuffs and scratches. But nothing serious. The lock on this chest has been updated with the newer replacement lock from Lane that was part of a recall. For sale is a Vintage 1975 Lane Hope/Blanket Cedar Chest with New Lock! I believe it shows the Declaration of Independence but I am not exactly sure and the company could not tell me since they have lost their vintage records in a flood. It is style# 2389-22 and the serial# is 2575190. The chest shows normal wear like scratches and scuffs. It measures 40x17x17" and has two leather straps on each side(forgot the pic of that) and one has ripped and needs to be fixed. This seems to be an unique chest since I have not been able to find one like it. There was a recall on the lock and it has been replaced by a lock sent from Lane Co. Up for sale is a Vintage 1957 Mahogany Lane Cedar Hope Chest. It comes with a shelf and the lock is removed for safety. The measurements are as follows: 46" Length. 18" Width and 13" Depth. Beautiful Vintage 1965 Mid-Century Lane Furniture Co Walnut Cedar Hope Chest DESCRIPTION This is a gorgeous Classic Mid-Century Style Cedar Hope Chest by Lane Furniture company out of Alta Vista. Virginia. This is from a very recent Estate Sale and has had only one owner. The warm walnut exterior of the cabinet on this chest/trunk is in amazing condition especially considering it is 50 years old almost to the day. Date Manufactured: 01/15/1965) The inside is lined completely with the aromatic pressure tested Cedar. This Trunk and/or Chest is in excellent condition and is ready to be filled with the hopes and dreams of someone very special. The dimensions of the Chest are 34” X 17” X 21” A nice size that allows it to be utilized in most every room and application. Upon a thorough inspection there are no scratches. Gouges or repairs on the ... morepiece. There are some very very slight indentions that can been seen in the top only if you catch it in the right light. Very hard to see. Lock has been removed for security and recall of all locks for lane cedar chests. A new lock has been ordered and will be sent to buyer. Please take a look at the pictures I have taken as they are an integral part of the description as well. Keep in mind what I sell are mostly antiques and vintage pieces. They have been gone over and cleaned in most cases and even refinished and restored but they are not always perfect. Lovely. Unique mid-century cedar lined trunk. May also be known as a Sweetheart Hope Chest. I refinished the surface of this and rare and unique trunk. The chest includes a safety lock and key. Minor scratches to back corners and a scratch on one side panel. This family treasure was traditionally used by would-be brides. Brides would store future wedding items. Currently. Used to store and maintain large valuables such as blankets and linen. The green felt lined tray is used to store smaller valuables and treasures. Vintage Mid Century 2 Door Maple Cedar Cabinet Chest Trunk By LANE c1955
This is a beautiful mid century maple two door cedar cabinet by Lane dated November. 1955. PLEASE NOTE: the pictures were taken in bright sunlight and came out a bit too light and orange in color.the cedar cabinet has a warm maple tone and is slightly darker than shown. The cabinet features shutter and paneled style doors with brass pulls that open to a solid cedar interior. The interior has two quality sliding beveled drawers with side handles. I have seen these sliding drawers on previous listings but they were just flat(no sides) and did not have the design and quality that these do. This would be great for sweaters. Blankets, etc. This heavy cabinet measures 34" by 17" and stands 31 1/2" tall and is in excellent condition for its age with minimal wear.
