1963 Lane Blanket Hope Storage Trunk Chest Danish Modern Cedar Mid Century
Danish modern style cedar chest by Lane in excellent condition. This mid century modern style blanket chest is completely cedar lined. Stands on sturdy walnut peg legs with brass caps, has a bottom pullout drawer and is totally original, excellent with just a couple small nicks. Outside measurements are 18 by 40 and stands 20 high. The top and outside finishes are walnut solids and veneers. Note the date stamp: for those who do not know. All vintage Lane products denote there date or manufacture with the serial number. backwards, in this case Aug 21, 1963. It stands on Danish style peg legs. CEDAR HOPE CHEST with SHELF by LANE FURNITURE
This is a Cedar Hope Chest manufactured by the famous Lane Furniture company. It has a full cedar interior and fold down shelf with felt bottom. The exterior has faux draws with handles. I inherited this hope chest from my mother and it’s at least 53 years old. I can’t use it as I don’t have the room. It’s in good condition but there’s some cosmetic issues I think could easily and cheaply be fixed making it perfect. The inside dimensions are 15-1/4” H x 15-1/2” W x 44-3/8” L. The divided tray is 1-3/4” H x 7.5” W x 43” L. NOTE: THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY! Location is in upstate New York in the Sloansville area near Rt. 20 and 30A intersection(zip 12160) 35 miles west of Albany. I cannot ship or deliver this item.

This is a beautiful 1970's Lane cedar hope chest. As you can see in the pictures it in beautiful shape. It measures 48.5l x 21.5t x 18d. I have children in the house so for safety reasons the lock assembly has been removed but it does come with the chest as well as the key. And is simple to reinstall. I have set the shipping to local pick-up, but if you are somewhat close to Danville IL, I could deliver it for the cost of gas.

This listing is for a very nice and hard to find Lane Cedar/Hope Chests Authorized Dealer Store Sign. This sign is in working condition. Its a plug in sign and the cord is in decent shape. It stands 9" tall x 11" wide and is 5" deep. The front is glass. The body is metal and the base is wood. This type of sign would have sat in the retail store. Either in the furniture department of possibly in the front window to advertise that they sold Lane Cedar Chests. Take a look at all the pictures. Really nice piece.

Lane Cedar Lined Hope Chest, Early 1970's- PICKUP ONLY
FOR PICKUP ONLY This is a Lane Cedar Lined Hope Chest from about the early 1970's. Measurements are approximately 17" deep x 42" long x 24" high with a dark Early American finish. My apologies for the glare in the photos. Apart from needing a good cleaning on the outside. It is intact with mostly minor wear and tear on the outside except for the top where a young child attempted to scratch a few words into the wood. I doubt it could be sanded off but the area could be filled with putty if the item was to be repainted or simply covered with a cushion if the original finish is desired. There is a push-button lock but no key, I HAVE REMOVED THE INTERIOR LATCH MECHANISM FOR SAFETY REASONS PER REQUIREMENT OF CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION. Vintage Lane Waterfall Chest This is a fantastic vintage Lane waterfall cedar chest. This beautiful piece was made by Lane in April of 1952. The front of the chest features inlaid veneer panels of burled wood. The interior of the chest is in excellent condition. The interior tray is lined with felt. Which has some general scratches and wear. The lid to the chest operates smoothly. The chest is marked on the bottom with the style number 2815-3 and the serial number 251040. Inside the top lid is the Lane marking. Also listed are the place of manufacture(Altivista. VA) and a list of relevant patent numbers, the most recent being 2355542. This is in fantastic condition overall with some general signs of age and use. There are various scratches and spots of wear on the top surface. There are a couple of small chips in the veneer. One on the top ... moreleft and one on the front of the bottom lip. There is some damage to the wood just above both of the front feet. There is some surface cracking on the curved portion of the lid, which is only visible upon close inspection. These flaws do little to remove from the overall appearance of the chest. Local pickup only from Springfield. MA. This is a Lane Cedar Hope Chest w/Lock& Key. Style No. 1798-5 0. Serial# 062090. Which means it was manufactured 09/02/1960. It is in good sturdy condition and the lock is functional. The original lock has been removed and replaced by Lane, so that entrapment is not possible, and it will only lock by pushing and turning the key from the outside. The lid has some surface damage and could use some refinishing if desired. It also needs some light stain touch up on the sides and legs, to color in some small scratches and nicks. Mid Century Lane Cedar Hope Chest with Record Storage
Lane cedar-lined hope chest with lock and key. All original in excellent condition. Cedar is still aromatic. Style number 8809-50 and serial number 957270. Overall dimensions are 27 inches high. 47 inches long and 17 1/2 inches deep. Unit has two compartments. Main compartment is the cedar lined chest with inside dimensions of 28 1/2 inches wide, 15 1/2 inches deep and 16 inches high. Second compartment has 25 inch outside highet from the floor and has 3 vertical and removable dividers. This second compartment was probably intended for phonograph record storage. Inside dimenstions of second compartment are 14 1/2 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 15 1/2 inches high. Exterior finish is in excellent condition with minor blemishes on main lid top. Two minor paint scrape marks in lower left hand corner will rub out with 0000 steel wool and furniture ... morepolish/oil. Am leaving as-is so new owner can select polish/oil as desired. This is a beautiful 1951 Lane Cedar Chest. It is done in the Waterfall style. With the different kinds of wood making patterns. This chest is marked with the Lane logo on the inside of the lid along with the original paperwork, dated Oct. 1952. The bottom is marked with the style number(2592-3M) and the serial number(157150) The manufacture date is the serial number backwards, so this chest was made 5/17/51. The inside of the box on the bottom is the pressure treated mark that also says, the only tested aroma tight cedar chest in the world" This cedar chest is in wonderful condition for its age. It has been well taken care of for many years. There are only a few light scuffs and scratches on the surface and a couple little broken pieces of veneer along the top edges. pictured) The feet are even in great condition. This chest does have ... moreits original lock still installed but no key. The latch mechanism has been recalled many years ago and the original locks need to be replaced. The latches automatically latch shut when closed and children can become entrapped. I was told that Lane will replace your lock for free but I do not know if that is still true. Vintage 1953 Lane Cedar Hope Chest #2687
This is a 1953 Lane Cedar Hope Chest with two working drawers. It looks like it has nine drawers. But only the two bottom drawers open. The pictures show the original lock and key, but the new issued lock from the Lane Safety Recall will be installed. The chest measures 4 feet long by 18 1/4 inches deep by 29 inches high. It does have some scratches but nothing in my opinion that is horrible. I have tried to show them in the photos. I have searched the internet to try and find more information about this rare chest, but I haven't found another like it. I contacted Lane to see if they could tell me about the chest, but they said the warehouse where it was made had burned and all files were lost. For sale is a Vintage 1975 Lane Hope/Blanket Cedar Chest with New Lock! I believe it shows the Declaration of Independence but I am not exactly sure and the company could not tell me since they have lost their vintage records in a flood. It is style# 2389-22 and the serial# is 2575190. The chest shows normal wear like scratches and scuffs. It measures 40x17x17" and has two leather straps on each side(forgot the pic of that) and one has ripped and needs to be fixed. This seems to be an unique chest since I have not been able to find one like it. There was a recall on the lock and it has been replaced by a lock sent from Lane Co. This is an absolutely beautiful Lane Cedar hope chest. May I first note that the original lock has been removed so that chest can open freely. The top of the chest does show wear. Most of it is from small abrasions and water marks. The back also has a scrape. Please see the photos and if you would like I can provide additional photos as well. I am not sure if the scuffs and marks on top can be taken off with lemon oil or if it will need to be refinished. I am leaving as is. The inside of the chest is absolutely mint and still retains the robust cedar smell. The original ads and decal are still intact. The serial dates it to the early 1930's from what I can tell. Virginia. This is from a very recent Estate Sale and has had only one owner. The warm walnut exterior of the cabinet on this chest/trunk is in amazing condition especially considering it is 50 years old almost to the day. This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy.
