Mystery vtg plumbing bathtub fixture part ? finial brass stearmpunk decor chrome
This item fascinates me. I have been trying for a long time to figure out what it is. The best I can come up with is some part for perhaps a claw foot bathtub. The chrome(if that is what it is) has a beautiful patina. I am quite sure it must be brass under the chrome as magnet does not stick to it. In fact a magnet will not stick to the screw\ or the nut. The nut looks like it could have been hand forged. The screw is 1 3/8" long and is embedded in the decorative part. The diameter of the base is 2 inches. Not including the screw. The decorative part is 3 3/4" long. I love the fact that there is a little arm with a ring. If you know what this was used for I would appreciate knowing even if you are not interested in bidding. Scroll down for more photos/ more views below description Cool old 1920s/30s kitchen sink faucet for restoration. Features a long spout that moves side to side. And old fashioned white glass/porcelain hot and cold lever knobs(note the"hot" one has cracks, including an internal crack area on the bottom side, and the cold has small hairlines(see photos of both) but still looks like they could be used. It measures approx. 7 inches from inside rim of each incoming water hole. This old fixture has not been tested in any way/ sold as it stands. The spout and handles do seem to move as they should. For its age, the chrome finish is pretty nice on the spout and main body, but does have some wear spots/ some pitting on the body, a small spot of missing finish on the bottom, areas around handles as shown, etc. See photos for details/ illustrative ... moreexamples. Many of the funny spots in the photos are just reflections, so be sure to compare from photo to photo. As it appears now the plating sure has its share of surface scratches and other issues. But free of dents or dings. However if this faucet was restored with old finished removed, it would be transformed into one awesome solid brass plumbing fixture! I cant say for certain if t need any new washers. However the handle turns freely, and tightens up nicely when in both open and closed positions. It takes a 3/4 inch female coupling. However there is an smaller size adaptor presently attached, that is easily unscrewed. The top if the handle features the old porcelain insert with the word"cold" marked on it. It appears to be in good condition. In need of a cleaning with a very tiny flea bite above the letter"C" ... morebut otherwise free of chips or cracks.

I believe this piece is from the 1940's-50's but i'm not certain. There are some condition issues with the chrome/nickle coming off in spots as well as some scratches. Vintage Cast iron drinking fountain. What a nice piece! I can picture this in an old schoolhouse or an old bathroom. Looks to have some cement on it. I am not going to attempt to do anything to it. Viuntage Copper& Brass Gooseneck Showerhead with Brass Spigots Super condition with no dents. Dings, or deep scratches. Everything works(cannot vouch for the valve gaskets as the piece is old, but the rubber is in place with no chunks missing) The metals are patina'd and there is a little oxidation at the rear of the spigots which confirms metal content and poses no problem for use.
