Vintage soap holder for a claw tub. It is made with a heavy gauge material- nickel? It weighs 8.5 ounces. It is dirty and some rust like- not really pitting- I think it could be cleaned up. I cleaned it up so it is presentable but left much of its patina and bit of the verdigris which had formed in the soap dish part of it. C H Stephenson manufacturers were active during the first quarter of the 20th century which is when this holder was most likely made. Vintage antique over the rail clawfoot tub soap dish. Very good condition. I believe it is nickel plated brass. From the research I've done. Soap dish part measures. 6 inches wide by 4 inches. Arch that goes over rail is 3 1/2 inches from the back of soap dish and 5 1/2 inches above the soap dish. Very sturdy with no damage. Finish has very little normal wear. Art Brass Co stamped on back rail of soap dish. Estate item.

Antique Vintage Brass Plated And Lucite Claw Foot Toothbrush Holder & Soap Dish
This is a very nice antique or vintage toothbrush holder and soap dish set done in the Art Nouveau style. Both pieces sit on a three legged pedestal with claw feet. The pedestals are a cast metal that has been brass plated. I'm not sure what the cast metal is because it is not magnetic. And it is too old and too heavy to be cast aluminum. The pole on the toothbrush holder is engraved with a barber pole type twist running the length of the pole. The soap dish and toothbrush holder are made of a beautiful Lucite, Bakelite, or one of the early resin type materials. It is gold in color with gold metal flake suspended in the resin, yet is still transparent. There are areas on the pedestals where the brass plating has worn through due to many years of cleaning, this is mainly on the feet. Overall I would say this set is in excellent antique ... morecondition. Underneath both pieces is marked BWM. I believe this to be Brown Westhead Moore Co. Toothbrush holder stands 7" tall and Lucite top is 4" in diameter as is the base. Soap dish is 3 1/2" tall and Lucite dish is 5 3/4" in diameter. Base is 4" matching the toothbrush holder.
