If there are questions you have please feel free to ask. This is an antique Harrow that was used to cultivate fields by means of metal tines that are spaced about 10” apart. I would estimate that the item ... moreis from the very early 1900’s if not the late 1800’s. I did not see any mfg name on the item. The harrow has 5 wooden beams that tie together with metal iron brackets on each side. There is a ratchet style control arm that adjusts the angle and depth of the harrow tines. The overall dimension is 48” by 48” Each tine is about 8” in length. The item is in fair condition. The ends of the wooden beams on one side were exposed to soil during storage so there is wood rot on those ends. The metal is rusty but would move as designed with some cleaning and lubrication. T H Witherby 3/4" socket style wood framing corner chisel
You are bidding on one T H Witherby corner chisel as pictured. It is marked"T H WITHERBY WARRANTED" with the WA very faint. Blade width measured on the outside is about 3/4" in either direction. And overall length of the steel portion(from the sharp edge to the far end of the socket) is about 11-9/16" The chisel is slightly tapered, about.160" thick near the sharp edge, and about.200" thick near the neck. Condition of the steel portion of the chisel is good. With some scratches, some patina(color) but only a hint of pitting, and some spots of rust that are all up on the neck. The far end of the socket is slightly mushroomed. Putting a straightedge on the back yields a slight S shape in both directions, with the largest gap perhaps a 32nd on one back side and about a 64th on the other. Two are about the same size with approximately 5” long brass trimmed wood(one has three brass diamond rivets) with the metal portion about 7 1/2” long. One of these has a groove in the handle and rules demarcations on the metal. The brass trimmed wood portion on the last one is 6 1/4” long with the metal portion 11 1/2” long. This is a great example of a tool from the past. This P.S.W. Co. No 1 EX is a well used framing chisel. It measures 1 3/4 in by 24 in overall. It was longer at one time. But the wooden handle shows mushrooming from the many blows from a hammer. There is some damage to the handle from repeated blows. A chip is missing from the front. It is about 1 in wide at the top, 5 1/4 in long, and tapers to 1/4 in. It is about 1/8 in deep. There are two other chips/splits forming from the top down, smaller than the larger one mentioned. The chisel body does have some surface rust. A previous owner inscribed his initials on the front with a center punch(H J T) picture 3. I only ship within the continental US. You are bidding on a vintage/ Antique Fletcher model number PD 2 Stapler. Nail carpenters finishing gun. Made in USA, Patent and NOS numbers on gun along with all other stamped and lettering are clear and very legible. MADE IN USA- Patent number is 1744700-nos 1134334. There is also a number 4 on the inner part of the hammer trigger when the gun is cocked and half-way through it's firing process. The mechanical workings of this gun are very smooth and it has all of it's original components including the rear wood seat. This item has been professionally sandblasted and is ready to restored to it's original condition or left as is. Personally, I like it the way it is now. When this item was found it had rements of dark green enamel paint on it. The wood seat was also sanded to a mid-grade finish and does have a small crack in it. ... moreHowever, I've seen very few of these over the years and none of them have ever had the original wood. This a really nice piece of early American tooling. This nailer/ stapler was found in a barn in eastern PA that was originally built in the early 1900's and would make a great display, conversation piece or addition to your collection. You are bidding on one Greenlee wood chisel as pictured. It is marked"ROCKFORD GREENLEE" in their logo on the neck. Width of the blade near the sharp end is about 2" And length of the steel portion(neck and blade) not including the wood handle is about 8-5/8" Condition of the steel portion is very good. With a few tiny areas of pitting, nearly all within 1/8" of the sharp edge. Putting a straightedge on the back yields almost no gap, EXCEPT that the first 1-1/2" from the sharp edge curves away from the straightedge, with a gap at the sharp edge of about a 16th. Woodcraft 3/4" Timber Framing Chisel. Wood Working, Heavy Timber Construction
Used 3/4 inch Timber Framing Chisel. I bought this new in1999. I have not used it much in the past 5 years. The temper is good and it holds an edge for a fairly long time. I think these are made by Henry Taylor, I don't know if Woodcraft still sells them. The makers mark is not visible and there is some staining on the blade. The up side to it being used is that it is lapped fairly well and the handle fits. The handles came"unfit" and it is no fun getting it to stay. Plenty of good years left in it, ask your questions and look at the pictures.

Some of these styles are very expensive to buy and were sold for more than $100/linear foot wholesale. Blade width at the sharp end is about 3" Length of the steel portion. Not including the wood handle, is about 14-1/8" and overall length including the handle is about 29-3/16" It has the humpback or rounded shape to the blade. If you define a slick as having the neck and handle remain above the plane of the back of the blade. Then this would not be a slick, as the neck falls below the plane of the back side of the blade. Including the handle. It weighs about 3 pounds 15 ounces on my postal scale. There is quite a bit of scattered pitting on both sides of the blade. With more on the rounded side than on the back. Someone started to drill about a 1/4" hole(very odd! ... morealong one edge of the blade, which doesn't go all the way through. And there are some odd square dents or dings on both sides of the blades. It sort of resembles the mark of a waffle-faced hammer, but that is not what it is. A previous owner has done some flattening of the back, which eliminated most of the pitting in the first 1/2" but it would benefit from some more flattening work. unusual 3" framing chisel or slick non-tapered w/ wood handle
You are bidding on one 3" wood slick as pictured. I can't find a marking on it anywhere. It appears to be hand forged. With a weld line(how it was made, not repaired) visible at the transition to the neck from the blade. Blade width at the sharp end is about 3" Length of the steel portion. Not including the wood handle, is about 16-1/16" and overall length including the handle is about 28-7/8" It has an unusual shape. In that the thickness stays about the same for the full length of the blade, and only starts to become thicker as it transitions to the neck. Most slicks tend to get thicker as you get closer to the neck, while this one does not. If you define a slick as having the neck and handle remain above the plane of the back of the blade, then this would be a slick. The edges of the blade are slightly rounded, ... morewhich causes the sharp edge to be slightly rounded at the corners. Including the handle. It weighs about 4 pounds 4 ounces on my postal scale. There is quite a bit of pitting on both sides of the blade. And on the neck. A previous owner has done some flattening of the back, which eliminated nearly all of the pitting in the first 5/8" but there are still some deep scratches beyond that, and it would benefit from some more flattening work. It looks like it might say"YORK" It is really tough to make out, both because it is faint and because of some pitting, and my guess(A GUESS! is that it is marked with a short(4 or 5 letters) maker's name and"N YORK" Blade width at the sharp end is just under 2" Length of the steel portion. Not including the wood handle, is about 11-13/16" and overall length including the handle is about 25-15/16" It has the humpback or rounded shape to the blade. unusually large wood framing gouge w/ wood handle & blade width of 2-1/8"
You are bidding on one wood framing gouge as pictured. I can't find a mark on it anywhere. Except that there might be some letters on the outside about where the polishing ends, but I can't make anything out if there is something there. It appears to be hand forged. Blade width at the sharp end. Measured outside to outside with calipers, is about 2-1/8" Length of the steel portion, not including the wood handle, is about 12-1/4" and overall length including the handle is about 22-3/16" The third picture shows it laying on a Coca-Cola soda can to give you a sense of the curvature or sweep. The ends tend to flatten out as can be seen. It has the oval hole in the middle. Which appears to be original. The Coca-Cola can is not part of the listing! Including the handle. It weighs about 1 pound 14 ounces on my postal scale. ... moreThe inside of the blade is rough. Either from a rough casting or some pitting or both, and my guess is most of that is casting roughness. The outside of the has a lot of scratches, from some hand finishing of the surface, and a row of heavy dings that would be towards the lower edge in the 8th picture. There is a small hole for a wood screw, and a crack running through that hole. A previous owner has done some grinding of the outer edge of the socket as can be seen. And he did some flattening of the back, but it would benefit from some finishing of the flattening work. The handle is a recently turned replacement. The socket appears to be slightly out of round as shown in the last picture. SHIPPING: 3 or 4 pounds. International shipping will be by Priority Mail.
