On the left. An 8 1/2 inch tall buff colored stoneware jug depicting a scene showing hunters with killed game and their hunting dogs on either side. The jug is unmarked and maker is unknown. The shape and workmanship indicate circa 1860s manufacture. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or other damage. On the right. A beautiful white stoneware/parian'Albion' jug by Wm. Brownfield with the relief portion picked out in blue. Brownfield's mark and registry diamond for March 10, 1863 are molded on the base. An attractive 6 inch tall white stoneware jug with blue background titled'Yeddo" manufactured by Wm. Brownfield and Sons circa 1876. On one side there is a bird in flight with three clouds and on the other two birds in flight with two clouds. Molded Brownfield marks on the bottom include two globes. Large 9 inch tall blue relief molded jug with scene of a man riding a camel with another man leading the two. There are palm trees in the background. This example is unmarked although the design is attributed to Samuel Alcock. The jug has a metal lid with a ceramic pull. The front half of the metal rim for the lid is missing. Victorian Staffordshire Relief Molded Pitcher Unusual Scene
An unusual and scarce unpublished glazed blue stoneware or earthenware pitcher which stands 6 3/4 inches to the top of the handle. On each side are three scenes in panels separated by pillars. On the left are four men smoking pipes. In the middle a soldier is addressing three men, and on the right a man appears to be talking to one woman while another stands next to her crying. On the handle is a soldier in applied relief and within the arches are shamrock shaped decorations. Overall the scenes appear to be Crimean War era and perhaps depict a young man enlisting in the military. The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. This jug not marked. Antique Relief Molded Pitcher with Wheat Stalks Victorian Staffordshire Jug
Unmarked green PARIAN WARE PITCHER Not certain. But most likely made in the United Kingdom Pretty pattern with wheat stalks Poor condition. This has a large broken section that was riveted with copper staples. There are two large chips on the base. I find the repairs fascinating. So am selling this for someone interested in the art of repair. Staples were a common— and obvious— means of repairing damaged ceramics in the 19th century. Measures approximately 9 inches in height. 7 inches in diameter at its widest I offer Fed Ex Ground as an alternative shipping option. They are usually less expensive than the US Post Office.
