George Pottery Company manufactured semi porcelain dinnerware as well as toilet and hotel wares. In 1910. The company opened a plant in Canonsburg, and another in Kittaning, Pennsylvania in 1914. The W. S. George Pottery Company remained in operation for nearly 60 years. My grandmother was the original owner of this water pitcher. It has been in our family since the early 1900's. Midwinter Pottery Antique Porcelon water bowl/ewer Late 1920's-early 1930's
Estate sale. This was professionally appraised at $600.00 This is a Midwinter Pottery made in Burslem. Staffordshire. A pottery was started in Burslem in 1910 by William Robinson Midwinter called Bourne's Bank which expanded to the Albion Pottery in 1918 and this is where the wash set was made. It dated to the late 1920s- 1930s, as indicated by the black and white checker design framing the painted panels, a motif much used during this Art Deco era. Water bowl is 15 1/2" diameter and the ewer is 11 1'4" tall. There are no chips or damage to the pottery. Appraiser's comments. The design on this set is quite stunning. It is a revival of a decoration made famous by Minton in the 1870's. Realistic polychrome enamel painting in the Barbotine style. It looks to be entirely hand painted or possibly hand painted over a transfer ... moreprinted outline. Either way it is beautifully done and with a lot of skill.

I have looked up the marks on these pieces of Vodrey and the marks date c1896(Kovels) Bonita is the name the pottery gave it or was the pottery herself. Not sure. The pitcher in the bowl is approx. 13” tall, bowl is 5” tall and the width of the bowl is approx. 16 ½” across. The weight on both bowl and pitcher is 12# reason for the shipping cost. The blue is very nice color and the bowl also has a doe color washed around the edge inside and out. I thought this was stain but nothing would remove the color, must be in the making of the set. Too, the pitcher has two runs that is in the making, as shown in the pictures. There are stress cracks but not broken through. Very Old Large Victorian Scene Water Jug Pitcher Pottery
This is an old pottery/ceramic decorative pitcher. Two part mold in the main part(the lines run down both by the handle and opposite the handle) It is green glazed and the bottom is signed but I can't read the whole signature, I can make out a C and a W at the beginning.please view photos.and it is marked'01 which I assume is 1901 as it was purchased by me in the 1980s. There is a chip on the bottom a chip on the top rim, and a paint flake missing on the middle(all photographed)Also a couple of slightly rough areas around the very top rim. St Clair French Pottery Absinthe Water Pitcher~Duck~Charming Antique
This is an early 20th Century tall absinthe pitcher made by the St Clair pottery company of France. In the shape of a duck. This pre-prohibition pitcher been in my family since I was a child and looked beautiful for many years on my windowsill next to a plant. It measures almost 14" long as shown in the photo with the measuring tape. I wouldn't use it for water because of its age but it's a beautiful decorative piece and a wonderful conversation starter. Replicas were made of this piece as well as later pieces by the same company and they are identifiable by the open bill of the duck and the curved water hole. On the originals such as these the duck is closed and the water hold can be seen to be flat on the top. What you are seeing here is an original. Not a replica or later piece. This vintage water pitcher is marked Anchor Pottery with the anchor icon. J.E.N. and Semi-Porcelain as shown in photographs. This is a lovely water pitcher from Anchor Pottery. Trenton, NJ. I believe this is early 1900's and may have had an accompanying basin. Design featuring pink poppies on front and back. The background color is an ivory color. The top edges are still lightly spattered in gold and the handle is so pretty and ornate.this is a substantial pitcher. Measurers 10 1/2" high and 10" across from spout to handle. There is the slightest of chips on the front of the spout that you can see in photo 2.no cracks. There is some crazing. But really very little for it's age. This is a great old yelloware pitcher in great shape. The flowers(appear to be water lilies) are done in cobalt blue underglaze that has bled similar to flow blue.
