An antique. Or maybe vintage, milk jug/pitcher with sweet wild roses transferred onto each side. It has a mark on bottom but almost impossible to make out, I can see the word Fran. Has a hexagonal body with a curved rim and sweeping handle made out of a heavy china. In great condition, no chips or cracks. Measures 6.75" tall. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Beautiful Antique Wedgwood Jasperware Milk/Cream Pitcher/Jug Cobalt Presented is a beautiful shapely Wedgwood Jasperware pitcher or jug in cobalt blue with classic white applied decorative work. The jug has lovely curves to it. It is decorated with female figures. A cupid-like statue, an altar of incense, and two trees. The top of the pitcher has nice floral swags. A laurel garland is beneath the spout. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The base of the pitcher is marked for Wedgwood and Made in England which would indicate this as having been made in 1911 or later. Beneath both plinths. On the blue area, there appear two tiny smudges. Under a magnifying glass, these appear to be light smudges of gold colored paint. These do not detract from the beauty of the piece. 1800'S ANTIQUE ENGLISH MILK PITCHER WITH REGISTRATION NUMBER Beautiful pitcher with the English Registry No. Rd/o 69383 that dates its registry to 1887 and this piece would have been made around this time. It is about 5.5" tall at the handle and about 7.25" wide and weighs over 1.5 pounds. It has an ivory background with a tree and blossom patterns. It is in very good condition as I do not see any noticeable nicks or chips or cracks. But it does have crazing throughout the piece and there is a yellowed area to the glaze and looks like it may have had heat contact(see photo) about the size of a dime. This is a lovely piece that displays very well and is well over 100 years old. 800x600 Mochaware Slip Decorated Milk Jug Pitcher with Foliate Handle Staffordshire England 1840 This is a great early to mid 19th century mocha ware slip decorated milk jug with crisp bands of blue and brown against creamy earthenware with blue ponded glaze. This generous sized creamer stands 4 1/2” tall and measures 5 1/2" across. It has an applied incised handle with foliate terminals. The whole body is covered with transparent lead glaze with hints of blue to give it a slightly shiny but matte appearance. The jug is in very good overall condition with use wear consistent with age. An in the making firing flaw at the spout joint and another on the foot. Haphazardly made. Intended for utilitarian use and probably considered disposable. 19th Century Copper Lusterware Milk Jug / Cream Pitcher
This is a great Luster/ Lusterware pitcher or creamer from the 19 th century. This copper and pink piece has a delicate design around the neck and the brush stroked buildings often found on these porcelain/ pottery works. The handle is ornate. The rim is rough; I cannot really tell if it is wear to the item or in the making. There is definite wear to the bottom. If you look inside(see photo) there appears to be a crack. But it does not go through to the outside of the pitcher. It measures 4 inches high(pitcher itself) but the handle goes to 4 ½ inches. It is a bit over 2 inches in diameter at the top. But flares out in the middle and tapers down to a bit over 1 ½ inches at the bottom. I have tried to describe this as best as possible. But please feel free to ask questions. Thank you for looking! This lovely piece is made in cobalt blue with white applied relief designs. A woman plays a lyre; the other leans pensively on a pillar. What a great item this is! It is classic elegance! A flowing wave-like pattern repeats around the bottom of the pitcher. A grapevine curves around the top. The surround of the handle and spout are embellished with laurel wreaths. A design of a Greco-Roman helmet and weapons hangs beneath the spout. The handle is nicely finished with a fern frond. The interior of the pitcher has a high glaze. Scroll down for more photos! This milk or cream pitcher/jug dates to early Victorian times. Made of fine pottery it is glazed white(stained) on the inside and a light tan tint on the outside. The main decoration is molded in relief. On either side is a vignette of laborers taking a break. The spout features a nicely molded“green man” mask. In addition there are swirls and flourishes of organic inspiration. The pitcher stands a bit more than 6” to the top of the spout. The body is about 3 ¼” across(5 ¼” spout to handle) Filled to overflowing it holds about 14 fl.oz. It is in very good condition– one tiny fleabite at the very tip of the spout. No cracks, there is fine crazing overall inside and out. There is no maker’s mark but the British Isles is a likely origin. Gaudy Welsh Dutch Milk Water Jug Pitcher Mid 1800's. Excellent condition, unusual design. Unmarked but the manufacturer would have been Edward Deakin circa 1851-1854. Nice baluster form with intertwined grapevine handle. And roses spilling from a basket. Raised design wherever grape. Vine, or leaf occur. Overall fine crazing. No chips or cracks. I should mention a spot of glaze missing on the spout(shown in photo) Stands about 8 ¾ inches(22.5 cm) tall and 5 inches(12.5 cm) wide at the bulge.
