The earliest examples were made in England, and manufactured much later in the United States in Vermont, New Jersey and Ohio when the English potters came overseas to America, bringing their molds with them. The earlier English pieces had a Rockingham glaze over a ... morewhite clay body while the later American pieces were glazed over a yellowish or buff clay body. This particular pitcher is an early English version. As there are a couple tiny pin prick sized areas where the glaze is nicked in the interior(see photos) and the clay is a bright white. I believe this was made by Phillips and Bagster. As I have done a lot of research about this company. They often signed their pieces in the collars of the hound or boar. The hound on the handle does have a collar( most hound handled pitchers do not have collars) and I can see a couple very faint letters on one side of the collar. These are very difficult to see and are glazed over. So not very legible(see photo) I really cannot make out the individual letters, but I see two. The glazed underside is marked with some sort of leaf as well the faint impression of half a stamp.maybe an"M" or a"3" with a diamond shape and round shape(like you might see on old majolica pieces) with a faint"22" Not sure as the stamp is not very legible so I cannot quite decipher it. It is there though and the" leaf" mark is clearly legible. This diminutive pitcher does have some condit

Dudson Brothers Hanley England Pottery Mini Pitcher Signed 1898-1936 Mark
Antique Dudson Brothers Hanley England Mini Pitcher Very pretty little hand- made and painted pottery mini pitcher. Marked to base with the Dudson Brothers mark that was in use from 1898-1936(see photo) Decorated with white stripes and a black geometric pattern against a blue ground. The stripes and pattern are enclosed, top and bottom with a rope battern in the body of the pitcher. Finished with a Rococo style handle. The pitcher measures 2.5" tall x 1.6" wide. Across the rim x 2" in diameter, at the base. The pitcher is in exemplary condition with no chips. Cracks, repairs or restorations. The painted background and decorations are in tip-top condition as well. There is a minor"push" or"dent" in the base that obviously happened pre-firing but isn't that really one of the things that is so wonderful ... moreabout hand-made items from this era. No two are identical because of things like this and it certainly adds character as opposed to detracting from the display quality of the piece. Vintage Lord Nelson pottery England Country Road chintz pitcher bright flowers!
Limmer Lane Antiques Welcome To Limmer Lane Antiques! Vintage Lord Nelson pottery England Country Road chintz pitcher bright flowers! Love this pitcher.I've had it for several years now but I'm attempting to downsize due to a move in the near future. Made by Lord Nelson Pottery England in the Country Road pattern which you see is made up of very bright yellow. Orange, blue and pink flowers. Overall condition is very good with only minor crazing visible under close inspection. The main thing to mention is that there is a small repair to the top rim near the handle. What appears to be a small nibble is actually where a small piece was chipped off and precisely glued back in place.Or at least that is how it looks to me. I've posted two pictures(one of the top and one of the side) so take a good look. The pitcher measures about 5" ... morein height and 3 3/4" from the back edge to the tip of the spout. ♥Take a look and feel welcome to ask any questions/make offers. All reasonable offers are considered! Antique Rieti New England Pottery Co. Cobalt Blue and Gold Pitcher
Beautiful antique New England Pottery Co. Rieti pitcher in Cobalt Blue(it really is cobalt blue. Just doesn't photograph well) with gold adornment, abt. 5 1/2" tall, abt 6 1/2" from spout to handle. This has the original Rieti mark of the mailed hand holding a dagger in black, this mark was used from 1886 to 1888 before it was changed to the crown mark. This info is found on p. 89 of"Book of Pottery Marks" by William Percival Jervis and also p. 97 of Marks of American Pottery by Edwin Atlee Barber. According to Barber's book, in 1886 they began making a"semi-porcelain ware in colored bodies, which was decorated in an artistic manner. From"The Encyclopedia of Ceramics" p. 413-Early in 1886 they were fortunate enough to secure the services of Thomas H. Copeland, a modeler and decorator, and commenced ... moremaking a semi-porcelain body. Thomas Copeland in a short time produced some excellently modeled shapes, decorated in a most tasty and artistic manner, one of his best efforts being produced in a rich blue freely ornamented with gold. This piece is in remarkably good condition for a 125 year old piece, it was clearly taken good care of. The cobalt is still a rich color with plenty of shine to it, the gold has worn in some areas but still has nice shine, these pieces don't come up often, rarely with this mark, and even rarer in cobalt. There is very little damage to this piece-see following descriptions of pics stating any damage, a strange thing occurs when the piece is photographed, it shows a lot of crazing, but it is not seen with the naked eye(except inside and on the bottom) 1 is the front that shows a surface scratch under the birds on the right, there are a couple of other surface scratches, less noticeable on the left side above the birds. 2 is the back, there are 2 areas of light surface scratches on this side on the right half of the design. 3 shows a close-up of the gold design on the top front, there are weaker and brighter areas of gold but it is still overall

This sale is for an Antique/Vintage Porcelain/Ceramic Copper Luster/Lustre pitcher. Produced by Gray's Pottery, made in Stoke-on-Trent, England, see picts. It measures approx. ... more3 1/2 inches tall and approx. 4 1/2 inches from spout to handle.See picts. The copper luster is rich, and inside the body you can see the high quality porcelain onto which the lustre/luster was painted on, see picts. The bottom is well marked with the rectangular Gray's Pottery Ship Logo. Also marked as"Stoke on Trent English" see picts. You can also see the artist's mark, 8138 0" that painted the pitcher, see picts. I could not find any chips. Cracks, hairlines, or repairs; even the copper lustre is in good condition, see picts. There is the minimal wear around the rim of the pitcher, and some areas where the paint did not make it all the way to the bottom, see picts. Antique Rubian Art Pottery England Pitcher and Wash Basin Early 1900s Art Noveau
Up for sale is an antique Victorian pitcher and wash basin. By the famous Rubian Art Pottery of England. The hand-painted Art Nouveau design around these pieces feature sun or moon setting on the horizon. With a volcano looking like mountain peak in between. Sea gull like birds hovering in the sky. The medium blue color with black buildings on the coast. The birds and trim of much of the detail looks to be some type of gold filigree paint. The gold trim on the basin shows some wear. The time frame for Rubian Art Pottery is anywhere from 1907– the early 1930’s. There is some crackling of the glaze on the bottom of the basin, common with something this old. They are in very good condition, free of any chips, cracks and or repairs. The pitcher is about 11-3/4” tall to the spout. And 9-3/4” wide from spout to handle. The wash basin is 16” diameter. ... morePriced for quick sale and below comparable ones! Check out our online eBay store for a great range of antique and vintage items. You are viewing a gorgeous vintage porcelain Irving Colonial Pottery matching pitcher and wash basin from Stoke. England in absolutely excellent condition.I believe the piece to be late 1800's, it dates between 1830-1859 from once article i found. The water basin and pitcher are in amazing condition. i was not able to find a single physical flaw. The pitcher measures 11" tall be 9" wide at its widest point. The basin is 4" high by 16" wide. The color is off white and green. the basin has a boarder design around the edges. It is incredibly RARE to find a historical item; that was used before there was running water, to last into the present day and in such exceptional condition. This ONE is truly a gem. Look to the photos for any visual details or contact me with a message and i can help with any questions you may have. ... moreGood luck and thanks for looking! COLEMANGUY.
