Diameter of top rim is just over 3.5 inches. Diameter of base is 5 inches. Unpacked weight is 1472g. Which means once packed this item will weigh over 2KG's and will need to be posted via Parcel Force. Condition. Good. Displays very well. No damage other than the all ready mentioned alteration to top rim. Plus very minor frits to top rim and a 1.5cm imperfection/ loss of glaze just under top rim shown clearly in picture number 9. Which were so successfully developed during the Ming dynasty, were exploited to the fullest in the Qing period. Essentially the same low-fired enamels were now used with such authority that Qing polychrome-decorated porcelains outshine all others. The stellar polychrome decoration of the Kangxi period, the famille verte palette of enamels, takes its name from several distinctive shades of green that are almost invariably present in the color scheme. Famille verte enamels are brightly colored and translucent: they have been applied rather thickly over the darker outlines and details. In addition to the various greens, the famille verte colors include yellow; aubergine; coral-toned iron-red(rather flat and almost opaque) white(achieved by allowing the pure body to show through a clear enamel) and black(a composite color made of matte brownish black pigment covered with green, aubergine, or clear enamel) The blue enamel in this assortment of colors is different from the Ming-dynasty turquoise-tinted blue enamel; it is more violet or royal blue in tone. A very old Stoneware glazed pitcher with 2 blue lines under the glaze. It is 9" from outer edge of spout to outer edge of opposite rim. It is 7 3/4" from outer rim to opposite outer rim. What we have up for your consideration is a wonderful OLD Blue Salt Glazed pitcher with Colonial figures all around it. It measures approximately 10" tall& the opening is 4 1/4" wide. There is a little damage that could be restored. The spout has had a piece broken off& glued back with a little chip still missing& a small chip on the base. Cute little stoneware salt glazed ceramic pitcher. It is solid with no cracks however there are 3 chips on the spout(see pictures for all details) The blue glazed band around the center has a bubbly texture that I hopefully I caught in the pictures- they are slightly raised as well. This one has been in my family longer than my mother and she was born in 1920.

This earthenware stoneware early American salt glazed pitcher is in very good condition for a piece of its age. There are some surface crackling which is to be expected in a piece of this age. I don't know if I found of these without of crackling if I could believe it was real. I have one of my grandparents which is in much worse condition than this one. But it is a family heirloom, so I would never sale it. This piece came from an estate sale and it may have been in use. I am of the belief us keep these from crackling so much since the moisture of use in good for stoneware. Mine is on display on top of a Hoosier Cabinet and it has become more damaged. This is a VINTAGE ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA PITCHER. It's about 8" high with blue transfer rose patterns on each side. The transfer on one side is placed lower than the other and has a bit of fading in the center. The pitcher is glazed all over-inside and out. It is also crazed all over. There is one"X" mark that I scanned-it seems to be only in the glaze. Not through to the inside. The handle seems solid and seems to be applied separately. There's a faint seam down the front the back. It's scalloped around the top with a raised pattern along the sides of the top edge. The small mark on the bottom is blue and under the glaze. It's an oval emblem with a crown on top and a lion on one side and a unicorn on the other. Standing Indian Blue and Grey Salt Glazed Stoneware Pitcher
American Blue and Grey salt glazed stoneware pitcher. Research is from 3 other EBay listings over the last few years of identical pitchers. It may have been a less common series of the Sleepy Eye pitcher. It features a raised standing Indian with a gun on one side and a raised multiple Indian scene around a camp fire on the other side. There is also an Indian on the handle. Raised Teepee's and trees complete the scenes. There are no makers marks visible on the pitcher. One listing mentions the"Collector's Guide to Country Stoneware& Pottery. Second Series, by Don and Carol Raycraft" page 99. Another listing mentions The Monmouth Pottery Company of Monmouth Illinois as the maker as well as the Belknap Hardware& Manufacturing CO. of Louisville Kentucky. These pitchers were made in the late 1800's to the first quarter ... moreof the 20th century. Also the Weir Pottery Company and the Western Stoneware Company were also mentioned as possible makers. Size of the pitcher is 8 inches from the base to the lip. Diameter of the base is just under 6 inches. I have included several pictures for review. The pitcher has paint wear on the edges of the base and also on the raised areas. A small chip on the top of the handle. Two small chips on the base and a possible hair line crack on the inside, top near the handle. Paint overall is very good, as is the overall condition.

Circa 1820 English Blue Glazed Silver Lustre Pitcher Jug
Up for bid and fresh from a Maine/Bermuda estate is a beautiful early 19th Century(circa 1820-40) Staffordshire blue glazed silver resist lustre pitcher/jug with nice floral and swirl decoration. It measures 5 3/4" tall. 6 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" This piece has no cracks, crazing, or large chips. There is a tiny glaze frit on the top rim(see photo) and there is evidence of some overpainting in two areas of glaze loss in the top rim area. One photo shows blacklight image of the largest overpaint area. The other area is smaller and is located on the inside edge of the rim(not so easy to photograph with a blacklight) I am offering this very pretty and early English silver lustre and blue pitcher without a reserve. Set is in overall very good condition. Wash basin has a tiny paint chip flake on the rim. Otherwise set is in very good condition, and does have crazing throughout. Done in a simplistic soft white and light blue color scheme. Would display well in any room or collection. Basin size: 16 inches round x 4 ½ inches tall. Antique Big 8Tx9.5W Blue Salt Glazed Stoneware Banded Barrel Pickets Jug/Crock
Offered is a very pretty. Made in America old salt glazed with bas-relief embossed banded barrel, staves and pointed pickets in a vividly beautiful deep blue with a tint of grey. I do not know the name of the maker. But this jug is similar to some large jugs in one of my McCoy Pottery books. Nor do I know exactly when made. But my estimate is 19 th century or early 20 th century. Condition: Ø Good antique condition. With distinct mold pattern, good deep blue-grey color, and shiny glaze and no cracks, but has some glaze pops and glaze skips firing flaws, plus several chips; Ø There are two chips inside the jug and as best I can get a tape in there to measure. The larger one is about ½” x 5/8” x 1/16” deep. The smaller leaf shaped one is about ¼” x ½” Ø There is another chip on the side of the spout. Which is about ... more1/8” wide x 3/8” long. Ø Plus another chip on the side of the jug that is about 1/16” in diameter. Ø The last chip is on the bottom edge and is about 1/8” x 5/16” Ø Any remaining lighter spots you may see are either reflections or due to some original glaze skips. Ø Handle is applied and though may appear loose at the junction. It is not. The glaze is not only pooled into the tiny crevice. But also is inside it and therefore I believe this was made this way and known as what is called an in the firing separation flaw. Approximate Size: Height: 8” Top Diameter: 6” Span Width Including Handle: 9.5” Across from tip of spout to outermost edge of handle· Base Diameter: 5.75” Weight: 4Lbs. before packaging Please study the photos that are part of this description and those which are close-up macro photos are more enlarged than in reality. This 9-1/2" tall pitcher is in excellent condition. No chips, scratches, etc. Blue and white with grape leaf and cluster motif. Has faint marking on bottom, but is not legible enough to be sure of. Recently appraised at $100- $150.
