The bottom band has something in the diamond centers-a fruit with a stem?There is a inside top thin chip 1/2" by1/4" many times we see little spots that appear as tiny chips,but under magnifing glass they appear shiny where they were glazed actually the paint did not completely cover as they are under the glaze, one under the edge on the bottom of this pitcher does not show. Great Primitive Yellow Ware Pitcher I have had this pitcher for a very long time. Its time to let it go. The pitcher if very heavy and a bright shade of mustard yellow. I think the third picture shows the true color of the pitcher the best. No cracks or chips. There is crazing throughout the pitcher and glaze lines. The handle looks applied and the base is ribbed. It appears very primitive due the crudeness of the pottery. Meaning there are a lot of pottery lines and unevenness. There are rough lines inside the pitcher. It has an applied strap handle, the spout is small and pulled, and the body has a bulbous shape. The outside top was decorated with a deep green drip glaze, which covers part of the handle as well. Measures 3 3/4" high to the top of the strap handle, and is 3" wide across the bulbous body. Unmarked on the base-dates to around 1900. Condition is extremely good with no cracks. Chips or repairs. Offered for sale is a 19th Century Hand Made Crockery Pitcher. This piece was made as a utilitarian pitcher; nothing fancy here. The pitcher is partially glazed and the glaze is crazed. There are two hand drawn brown lines around the pitcher. It was made with yellow clay and is probably of U.S. manufacture. There are some clay and glaze cracks on the outside of the pitcher from the original firing(see pictures) and the glaze which is poured over the piece only partially covers the piece. H ere’s something you don’t see very often. This old redware feeder is 9 1/2 inches tall. Base is 5 3/4 wide and about 7 inches deep. It weighs 4 1/2 pounds. The seed outlet is glazed; the rest is unglazed. CONDITION: There’s quite a bit of chipping around the seed outlet. Thanks to lots of pecking from hungry chickens. Redware probably wasn’t the best choice for a chicken feeder. In addition, there is some minor chipping from the top down to just below the second incised line(this can be seen in Photos 2 and 7) and there is a chip at the base(lower left in Photo 8) These can all be seen in the photos, which are a vital part of the description. RARE 19th Century French Clay Pottery Pitcher Confit Pot Antique Primitive
This is a unique 19th century large French pottery pitcher with a handle and minimal pouring spout. Glaze is mustard gold interior and exterior top half and cream/grey bottom half. Appears to be red clay underneath. The design resembles brick work or a stone wall made of crudely painted marks in green glaze. Probably southern France. Came from an estate with many 19th century French pottery pieces(I have sold all the others) Most of these pottery pieces from that region have flaws in glaze and clay which give them character and this one has many, it is quite primitive. There is crazing/tiny cracks to glaze typical for age. There are no cracks in the clay; there is one chip on the upper rim near the handle and glaze missing underneath the chip on the pitcher vessel. Some of the glaze on the upper rim is worn off, which is common. It is a beautiful ... morepiece. Please see photos for anything not mentioned here as part of the item description. Measurements: 6" diameter upper rim and base(interior upper rim is 4.5" diameter) and 8.25" tall. Antique Pottery Miniature Pitcher Creamer Mini Primitive Green Drip Glaze This miniature pitcher has a bulbous body with an applied strap handle. The spout is small and pulled. The outside near the top was decorated with a deep green drip glaze. Which covers part of the handle as well. Measures 3 3/4" high to the top of the handle, and is 3" wide across the bulbous body. Unmarked on the base as to the maker. Extremely good condition with no cracks. Chips or repairs. There is all-over age crazing on the piece. The strap handle is a little off to one side. There are some tiny glaze pops and skips at the top and on the handle. Slight discoloration of the white body. NOTE: At this time. I only ship to United States addresses and P.O. boxes. Antique porcelain/enamel wash basin bowl/pitcher set. Both have a cobalt blue trim around the edge. And indicate a matching set. I have seen the basins for sale but rarely seen a matching set like this. I was told this was salvaged from a monastery or nuns school in Baltimore before the building was razed. The pitcher is marked Germany on the bottom, and the bowl is unmarked. The pitcher shows considerably more wear than the bowl( see photos) The bowl is in fantastic shape, and does have a hole in it for hanging. Still an amazing set. Old Pitcher I found myself so drawn to the beautiful simplicity of of this old pitcher. I just had to get it. This lovely pitcher has a black glaze, which is quite hard to come by. Along the recessed rings, the glaze has a rusty brown appearance. The condition is quite nice considering its age and functional purpose. There are some areas along the rim that have slight flaking that blend in well since they have darkened substantially over time. This has a nice solid feel and weighs in right at five pounds. The handle is well crafted. Oh, the stories this old pitcher could tell. This displays beautifully on its own or would be great for use with floral arrangements. With some condition issues, There are color changes that may have come from being repaired, especially around the top rim and the center of the bottom. It is still nice as a display piece but not a usable pitcher. The surface has a texture to is. And the raised design has a cream and brown background with a flower on each side. Stands about 7 inches tall and about 4.5 inches at the widest not counting the handle. there is no hallmark on the base. The aqua blue interior glaze is OK for it's age My mother passed away last year at the age of 95. She had a storage unit she filled with family pieces in the 70's and this is one of them.
