Orkney Collectibles presents: Maddock Pottery Trenton NJ USA Flow Blue Delft Pitcher We are pleased to offer this lovely Maddock Pottery Company Royal Porcelain Blue Transferware Pitcher manufactured at the Lamberton Works of Trenton. New Jersey, America. The company was owned by Thomas Maddock& Sons, Moses Collear, C.A. May and Thomas P. Donoher. This beautiful pitcher features a Delft Dutch water scene in Holland with windmills and sailboats. Vintage antique Maddocks porcelain large pitcher with a nice grey blue and white Dutch and sailing vessel design. Reads: MADDOCKS WORKS LAMBERTON ROYAL PORCELAIN. Measures approx. 11 1/2" at its tallest. And 9" in diameter at the base. No chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing and I would consider it in good condition for its age. Has some staining on the inside that you can see as it has ... morenot been cleaned and had dirt in it. A great display piece- there is no apparent repairs or cracks evident AS IS condition. However, no apparent crazing, dirt inside, some use evident Here for your perusal is this Wonderful Porcelain Water Pitcher It would have once been part of a set. There would have been a large bowl to hold the water for the washing of the face and hands. There might have been a soap dish. It was made by the Maddocks Lamberton Works out of Trenton. New Jersey. It was called Royal Porcelain. Based on the back stamp on the base. The Pitcher possibly would have been made between 1892 and 1924. Based on the nature of its usage, it was mostly on the earlier side. This pitcher is huge. At least as pitchers go. The approximate circumference of the body is 25 inches. Its tallest point is 11 inches at the spout. It weighs in at over 4 pounds. It is embellished with grey blue and white detailing. My guess is of a charming Dutch village and sailing vessels. Certainly it has slightly faded with time and use. But there are no surface type chips on the base. There is normal wear to the base. I have not cleaned the pitcher and it is dirty inside, but I have left that for

The Base is 5" and the top opening is 3" so it gradually flares out on the bottom. It has curved panels. I believe it is a piece of pottery. However I cannot locate the maker. The lettering on the base is very faint. If anyone recognizes this mark, I would love a shout out! This pitcher is in very good shape with some flakes along the base only. Gold detailing around rim. Foot, handle and near bottom on both sides. On the bottom it is marked and says"Ridgways England Royal Semi-Porcelain Osborne" Also some#s backstamped or imprinted. This is in fair condition because the gold has faded from use mostly around the rim. Glaze is missing in a couple of tiny areas, small area near the base on the outside is lightly discolored and tiny fleabite on the inside of the top rim which is difficult to see. Also very fine surface crazing but it does not detract from this. This is still a lovely flow blue piece even with the flaws and displays well. More than 1500 Flow Blue patterns were produced in Victorian England, Germany, Holland, and the United States. The peak production was from the mid-eighteen hundreds ... moreto the early 1940's. Now it is again popular, but as a collectors' item rather than dinnerware. During the eighteenth century, English potters tried to copy Chinese porcelain, which was immensely popular with the upperclass British. They developed salt-glaze earthenware, which was whiter than other pottery, and which therefore looked more like porcelain.Around 1775, a new technique for decorating pottery called transfer printing was developed in Battersea and by Sadler& Green at Liverpool. In this process, a metal plate, most often copper, was deeply engraved with the desired design. Then paint was rubbed onto the warmed plate and excess paint was cut off with a palette knife. After being cleaned with a cloth called a boss, a piece of tissue-paper was dampened and pressed onto the plate. Presented is a gorgeous and rare flow blue Royal Doulton pitcher: This gorgeous piece has striking detail and design depicting an orange tree pattern with surrounding flowers and birds. The pitcher is decorated with a very rich cobalt blue coloring against a flat white background accented by rust orange coloring. The trim is painted in gold. The pitcher is quite large and measures 11" wide by 10" tall. There is a"Doulton Burslem Tudor" stamp on the bottom. Which I have pictured. The pitcher is nice used condition with some wear. It is in very good condition a little of the gilt is worn but the picher and bowl are in excelent condition and the chamber pot has a small blemish it does not look like a chip but a slight defect. Antique F. WINKLE& CO"DART" PITCHER AND WASH BASIN Today I have decided to sell an absolutely lovely F. Winkle& Co circa 1893 Flow Blue Pitcher and Bowl set decorated in the Dart Pattern. This set offers a super rare deep dark blue Flow Blue Antique striking with its gold gilding. The pitcher measures approximately 12 1/4" in height with a slightly lobed body. Having four slight creases or indents giving an overall melon shape with molded four molded fans extending downward from the neck. The body of the jug is decorated with the most vivid deep dark blue flown transfer decoration featuring large groupings of azalea type flowers that alternate with panels of scrolls and vines. A jewel pattern drops down from the rim. The basin measures a bit over 15 1/2" in diameter. The exterior of the bowl is also slightly lobed(the ... moreinterior is not) And the fan shapes drop down from the rim and rise up from the base rim. The flow blue azalea pattern on the exterior of the pitcher is repeated on the interior of the bowl. The jewel pattern on the exterior of the bowl matches the neck of the pitcher. Both pitcher and bowl have gilded rims and sponging that is in pretty good shape. Both are also marked in blue under glaze: DART Rd No 219409 F.W. Co ENGLAND. Each also has a raised in-mold rectangle. Within the rectangle. Rd 187591" is impressed, although in the case of the pitcher, the impression is illegible. Condition: Both pieces have been carefully inspected and critically scrutinized for damage. Both have been black-light tested for repairs. No chips. Cracks, or repairs are present. The pitcher has fine crazing inside and out. Of note is a specific circular line on the exterior base of the pitcher near the back stamp that has been examined closely. There is loss to the gold gilding. There are also several spots or flaws on the bottom of the pitcher that look like they were a part of the firing process as they seem embedded in the glaze. Here we have a beautiful. Functional antique water pitcher from the 1890s. It is in great shape showing appropriate wear from use over the years. The gold work is beautiful and it has flowers painted on around the sides. Today I have decided to sell an absolutely breathtaking beautiful W.H.Grindley& Co. Festoon Flow Blue Pitcher. I purchased this and cannot find a place for it in my home. So have decided to part with it. The logo on the bottom is very blurred, but with some research in the two flow blue books I own, I found the pattern to be Festoon. This pitcher is in unbelievable condition for its age. It has no cracks. Chips or crazing or repairs that can be seen. There are a few scuffs on the bottom as seen in the photo with the logo. The pitcher is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. It has a lovely embossed design from the mold. I am not a professional. Just describe to the best of my ability. A few minimal scratches on the bottom of the bowl from pitcher. No discolorations that I could see, may be one or two tiny flea bites. No chips, repairs or cracks. Pitcher and bowl sets were an essential part of every home all through the 19th century until we started getting indoor plumbing. Most bedrooms in most homes would have a pitcher and bowl set so people could wash up. It would sit on the nightstand or on a washstand and they used it every day. Tell me how you got hold of this washbowl. APPRAISER: If we take out the pitcher and set it aside. We can turn up the bowl so that we can get a closer look at the design. This has a really elaborate cobalt blue under glaze design of iris. On top of that is a really elaborate gold work. The gold is actually raised up, which is a more expensive process than flat gold. On the bottom, we can turn it over and take a look at the mark. It is made by the Royal Doulton Company. This is before it was Royal. This mark was used from about 1891 to about 1902. Pitcher-and-bowl sets are not a very popular collectible. If you had collected 20 pitcher-and-bowl sets, where would you put them? They take up so much space. And most pitcher-and-bowl sets are very utilitarian-looking. They were not expensive because people used them all the time

This is a great find. Yelloware this old is usually cracked. Chipped, stained etc. This piece is in great shape. A little crazing of the glaze on the bottom as per photo. Beautiful early antique either Gaudy Dutch or Welsh I think. It is unmarked and is early. The colors are incredibly vibrant. Pink Lustre. Orange and flow blue hand painted in a floral design. It's in good condition for its age. There is an embossed design under the spout. And an amazing decorative handle. It has just a couple of spots where the paint has worn and one can be seen in the first photo. There it a separation inside by the handle that is obviously in the making and is just in the glaze. There is some slight browning on the top edge and on the bottom there is a separation in the pottery on the edge with a very small shallow chip. These imperfections don't stand out by any means. It measures 6" high and 6" across. Thanks.

An Extraordinary Beer Pitcher. Crafted by White's of Utica, New York. It has a salt-glaze exterior with a clear silica glazed interior, this would date it approximately 1885-1897. Measuring 8 1/4inch tall. 4 1/4 inch at the mouth. The bottom is marked with a 6 as well as the top of the handle. As you can see in the pictures. The pitcher is in great shape for its age. Heron Cross Pottery; Fenton, Staffordshire England) T his lovely floral design"Poppy" is RARE and appears to have been created using the"Flow Blue" technique. The basin is stamped with The Hines Brothers Trademark(photo 8) The name of the design. Poppy" is stamped below the trademark. The pitcher has the number" 2583 p" painted in gray on the bottom. For your consideration today is a wonderful antique flow blue pitcher estimated from the 1870-1880 era. This pitcher stands 5-1/2 inches from top of the spout to the base- it is approx 5 inches across from spout to handle. Body of the pitcher is in panels giving the piece an octogon shape. This pitcher is ironstone ceramic pottery- the blue tranferware pattern appears to be an ancient landscape- the flow blue continues as decoration on top and bottom plus on the handle. Antique Dresden Humphrey Bros. Flow Blue/Gold Porcelain Water Pitcher (Large)
This stunning antique"Dresden" patterned flow blue water pitcher was made by the Humphrey Brothers in the late 1800's in England. It is the perfect size to hold a large bouquet of flowers and place right in the middle of your table. This pitcher measures 11" high and 10 1/2" wide. The condition is very good. It does have light crazing over much of the pitcher that can be seen up close. There is a small hole in the gilded stripe on the foot of the pitcher that appears to have been made at the time of manufacturing as the"bisque" goes inward like it would if it were soft. Beautiful RARE Antique Myotts etruscan pattern flow blue bowl and pitcher set
For your consideration: This beautiful antique bowl and pitcher set. Both pieces are marked. Myotts etruscan England semi porcelain" and have"1344" in gold. This set has lots of all over gold. Most of the flowers and decorations are trimmed in gold. It has no chips or cracks. The bowl has three very small(thread size) stilt marks from when it was fired. The paint is there, just small indentations on the side of the edge(see picture, and normal surface scratches on the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is 17 inches across X 5 1/2 inches deep. This large, vintage"Old Sleepy Eye" flow blue stoneware pitcher remains in very good condition showing some signs of general wear due to age, use and/or storage(see photos) There is a medium-size chip as well a a couple of smaller ones to the bottom rim/edge of the pitcher(again, see photos) and some flecks/specks paint and some spots of discoloration here& there due to age. Also, there is overall crazing due to age as well as a 1.25" crack just below the rim to the interior- the crack does not not show on the exterior. Measuring about 8.5"H) with a bottom diameter of approximately 6.5" This pitcher weighs in at a hefty 3.20 lbs. Please be sure to study all of the photos as they are part of this description. And.
