Fine black underglaze transfer-decorated ironstone 8 sided covered sugar bowl decorated with the desirable"Cyprus" pattern by Davenport(1794- 1887) of Longport. Staffordshire. This is a fine Romantic flow black Staffordshire pattern. Impressed and printed marks on the base. You can see the blue of the pearlware glaze where it pools on the underside. The sugar bowl is 8 inches tall. It weighs 1 lbs 12 oz(shipping weight 3 lbs) Condition: Fair. With hairlines in both pieces and chips in the lid. There is some kind of green florist's gum stuck to the interior base. Crazing of the glaze, as usual for 160 year old pottery. A good shelf piece as it it looks fine with the cover on. Antique marked 1815-1850 Davenport Bacchus spouted pitcher
We are listing this Davenport jug with a Bacchus spout and floral decorations on its sides. It is marked on the bottom with the printed DAVENPORT mark(although the D did not print) which was used from 1815 to 1850. This is a 200 year old antique that looks every bit of it. It is age or water stained and we have included pictures of a flake on the rim. A chip under the spout, and a hairline crack in the middle of the handle(which is stable) It is 6 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest point. Antique Davenport Pottery Ironstone Corn& Oats or Corn& Wheat Pattern Gravy or Sauce Boat. Measures 4" tall at the spout X 5 1/8" tall at the handle X 8 1/4" long handle to spout. Faintly marked on the bottom: Davenport China Ironstone inside a oval. There is also an Anchor. 10 and the impressed numbers 866? The English registry mark is mostly obscured. I can make out an IV at top, a 12 to the right and perhaps an 8 or 3 at the bottom. The rest is too faint to read. Ironstone glaze with a corn and Oats or Corn and Wheat pattern on the bowl. The handle has an ear of corn finial on top of the handle. This is in Nice Clean Condition with No chips, cracks, crazing or stains.
