Great c1860 l emon gilded Victorian sanded pebble frame. So hard to find these in good condition as these usually have been ruined with gold radiator paint. This is a gorgeous antique Victorian style picture frame from around the 1890s. This frame is in good condition and it has a rabbet of roughly 21" x 12.5" Please contact me if you want me to check the exact dimensions of your art. This is a two piece frame and the outside piece has beautiful bright gold leaf paint. The inside piece is a nice flat mat color and acts as a sort of matting for whatever is in the frame. It measures about 14 by 16 inches, overall and will accommodate a 10 by 12 inch picture. An outstanding c1860 walnut deepwell with multipart frame construction producing a 4 layer deep frame. This one has an outer walnut frame. A brightly gilded inner frame followed by an incised, ebonized molding and a brightly gilded incised site liner. The frame is in fantastic condition with only minor wear and has the original wavy glass and shingle backboard. Mitered corners with square nailed construction. This is a c1860 beautiful. Large Victorian water gilded stenciled frame. Nice bright water gilded finish with stencil designed deep cove. Frame is in great condition with a few areas of wear, loss and touchup. Meausures 22 x 25 1/2 with a 18 x 21 1/2 rabbet. Large VTG Antique Victorian Picture Frame Gold Gilt Carved Gesso Wood Lemon
This beautiful ornate gold gilded frame measures a large 37 x 31 x 2 inches overall and has an opening of 21 1/2 x 27 1/2 with the mat or 24 x 30 if the mat were removed. It was found in an antique shop. But I am not sure of the age of it. It is definitely is in an antique style. It does have some discoloration/spotting on one side as can be seen in pictures, but is in very good, sturdy condition. It is a heavy wood/gesso frame weighing over 8 pounds and is gold gilded. The ornate corners are just gorgeous. It would be perfect for a wedding portrait, painting, etc. Please let me know of any questions. The solid oak molding has a nice massive profile with delicately molded edge. Broad flat inner field and reveal framed by lemon gilt gesso ovolo molding. The surface is a grungy very old, smeary gold(early 1900s) over original metal leaf and natural grain texture is visible. It is sturdy and usable with some expected wear and miter gaps and some tiny losses in the delicate egg and dart. The lower right corner has a chip/loss in the wood. Here is a antique Victorian picture frame with compo/gesso roses vines. And other decorations on the surround. The entire frame measures 20 1/2 x 24 1/4 ins. insert rabbet size is 16 x 20 ins. so a good standard size for alot of artwork. The frame is in FAIR as is vintage condition with some chipped compo decoration at the bottom, some on the sides, they have a gold paint over them, but could be professionally restored if you want the frame to be perfect.It is still sturdy and stable. Please look at all pictures, as it is an ANTIQUE frame, circa early 1900s.The only touch-up paint I see is on the chipped areas, not on the original parts of the frame. Antique Victorian Deep Well Hand Marbled Frame Lemon Liner Mirror Shingle Back
Up for auction is an antique Victorian era deep well hand marbled with lemon liner and 8x10" mirror recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. There are losses to the frame. Liner and faux finish. The mirror shows much age but could be younger than the frame, uncertain but has blooms and losses to the mirroring. Please see the photos for the losses to the frame and faux finish. Overall this measures 10.75 x 12.75" Worthy of a little restoration work. If you are using as a frame and do not want the mirror let us know and we will adjust the shipping. Original wood shingle backing but only one nail currently holding it- you will need more brads. Antique VICTORIAN Lemon GOLD & Flowers Compo WIDE Molding Frame 16 x 22 c1900s
Here is a gorgeous antique wood and compo picture frame. Circa 1890-1910 time period. It is quite heavy, always a good sign in antique frames, measuring in total size 23 x 29 ins. and inner rabbet insert size 16 1/8 x 22 1/8 ins. A 16 x 20 piece of art will work in here. The molding is about 4 1/2 ins. wide. The inner gilt lemon gold deep cove molding is beautiful, and will shine light onto your artwork. The frame is in fair as is vintage condition with some minor compo/gesso chips. Not many for age, and one is about 4 inches at the top back ridge(unseen from the front) of broken decorative compo that has been painted over gold( I have included that picture in the pics of the frame) There are also surface scrapes at top, unseen, and some on the sides. I would say the frame is 99.9% original finish. With the exception of the small area at ... moretop unseen with the broken compo. The compo/gesso is flowers, berries, foliage, and other decorative accents.
