Intense tiger-striped grains, cleaned original finish, great detail, dark golden brown hues, nice patina, unusual and elegant design. It has a raised and carved face and a 1" wide inner gesso frame. Very solid, tight, NO separation/age shrinkage to the corners, some wear to the old original finish. It holds an old restrike of a bird's eye view of Boston. The print is in excellent antique condition with no stains or rips, does have some wrinkling. The face frame is about 4" across and measure approximately 23" x 27 1/2" outer dimensions, 16" x 20" inner dimensions. Up for bid is stunning antique Mission Era or Art& Crafts Movement Quartersawn or Tiger Oak picture frame. The frame's outside dimension is 15-3/4r" wide x 18-1/4" high x 3/4" thick. The inside dimensions are 12-1/8"wide x 14-3/4" high. There is. At present, an original piece of glass, that came with the frame and will ship with the frame, and I will pack as best I can, though will not guarantee the glass will arrive safely, due to the mail not taking care of packages these days. ANTIQUE 1916 WOMAN PHOTOGRAPH? IN ORIGINAL GESSO TIGER OAK FRAME-19.5"x23.75"
This is an antique photograph(I guess) of a woman; I'm guessing it is from 1916 since it matches the Marriage Certificate I bought with it. The frame measures 19½" by 23¾" and is wood under gesso with a tiger oak finish. The label says it was done by Halsted Art Shop in Chicago. As the photos show. The frame has water and gesso damage at the bottom plus the normal chips and wear consistent with age. The glass is original and in excellent condition. This is a beautiful Biblical scene Certificate of Marriage with Bible verse from Ruth. Dated 1916 from Collinsville, IL. The frame measures 19½" by 23¾" and is wood under gesso with a tiger oak finish. The label says it was done by Halsted Art Shop in Chicago. The print was published by Concordia Publishing and printed in Switzerland. As the photos show. The matting and frame have water and gesso damage at the bottom plus the normal chips and wear consistent with age. The glass is original and in excellent condition. Antique Solid Tiger Oak Picture Frame

The Glass was broken and the Portrait damaged but the Frame is very beautiful. I believe it is Tiger Oak. Custome Frame, Made From Reclaimed Old Growth Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak.
This frame is one of many more different pieces to come from this wood. I was lucky to have stumbled across a 1900th century old farm house is southern Ohio that was being demolished. I was able to salvage some lumber from the remaining pile of material. All the roof rafter in the building were true Virgin"Quarter Sawn Timber" from the"Old Growth" forests. I know this because of the density. Color of the wood and how close the growth rings and medullary ray's are. This is indicative on how old the tree was before it was cut down. The total frame measures 29-1/2" by 14-1/2" The inside measurements where glass. Picture etc. go is 24-1/2" by 9-1/2" The inside rabbit depth is 5/16" Total thickness is 5/8" Frame has my secrete formula for its finish that I toyed around with for years. Vintage estate older Antique Tiger Oak Frame This is a antique Tiger Oak frame I came across several years ago at a local estate sale. This frame does not have glass. But does still have the original nails from when something was mounted in it. What makes this frame a little unusual is that it has extra wood trim at the bottom, like a molding piece at the bottom, it's also beveled on the inside, where the matting would be. The frame itself is in Good to Very Good Condition. It has the usual nicks in the wood that comes from age, but otherwise is solid; measurements are-inside 18” x 24” outside- 20” x 27” the width of the frame itself is 1 1/2" wide at the top and sides and 3" wide at the bottom. This particular piece was an 8" by 8" by 48" long oak angle brace that was strengthening a corner of this building. I am selling a Handcrafted one of a kind beveled mirror frame that I made from reclaimed wormy maple. This piece of reclaimed hard rock maple was heavily eaten by carpenter ants and termites. When milling this wood I cleaned out all the loose material and created a Beautiful piece of art. The edges of this frame show the live edge of the tree and also show the band saw blade marks when originally milled. These type of marking tells us that this piece of wood was milled by an early pit saw or band saw not a newer round curricular saw blade. These markings make this wood an older piece of salvaged material. Early 1900's. With this particular frame I have built a matching pair. This one I am auction off is labeled, 1 from the set. Some of my frames have irregular opening sizes because I just couldn't waste any of the valuable material. ... moreSome of this wood is hard to fine in the rough. Frames mirror is a 10-7/8 inch by 10-7/8 inch*The over all size of the frame is 18-3/4 inches by 19-1/4 inches. The wood thickness is a heavy 3/4 inch. This frame is constructed with biscuit jointery. The finish is a hand rubbed orange shellac. Walnut gel stain, tongue oil and a final coat of polyurethane. I am in the process of de-clutter my life in preparation to one-day move. I have decided to auction off some of my handmade frames and many other things to help my family and I save for our first home together. In the upcoming weeks I will be posting items for auction. The carved 1/2" wide inset looks like an oak leaf with acorns and on one of the shorter sides is missing about a 3/4" piece. But it is not very ... morenoticeable unless you are looking for it. Especially b/c it is the natural oak also vs. a painted trim. The only other flaws I see on this frame is about the outside edge of the frame are are a couple of very minor slivers of oak that is gone. they are so slender that it not visibly noticeable but if you rub your finger along the edge that you can feel it. Overall though. This is a beautiful antique solid frame. There are 2 holes drilled in the back for a vertical hung painting or mirror. But also looks like it may have at one point housed a piece that was hung horizontally. But they are much smaller. Like nail holes. Circa 1900- 1950. From a Baltimore MD estate. GORGEOUS!
