Stunning Antique English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle / Flask
A wonderfully tactile scent flask. With it's deeply cut crystal in a series of star cuts within a diamond shaped lozenge. The glass is a beautiful Emerald green fading to clear at the bottom of the flask. The screw-top lid is decorated with repousse work crowned with a circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize. The interior is cork filled to avoid evaporation of the precious contents. The silver is of course hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, Victorian in era. The makers initials CM are present for the silversmith, Charles May. Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 1" at widest. this is an exquisite very rare antique sterling silver. Cut crystal, guilloche enamel perfume bottle. it has a hallmark HCD. An anchor, a lion, and an x the hcd is the maker. The anchor is for Birmingham UK. The place item was assayed, Lion is for. 925 silver purity and X is the date letter. Made in early 1900's it has an exquisite design with a 10 sides cut crystal bottle. the cap has exquisite blue guilloche enamel top. Which has small side piece chipped, refer to pics. it is wrapped by sterling silver. the bottle has its original stopper in good shape. This is a set of antique. 999, sterling silver overlay, art nouveau, perfume bottles. To our knowledge. They are Alvin Sterling Silver with the low numbers of 3104, fine. We're assuming they are rare. The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamo uneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor. Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence. Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. The largest measures 4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter with original stopper. The second to largest one that's very wide and flat measures approximately 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" diameter with original stopper. The stopper is the one ... morethat's chipped. The top says"GB" in script. The bottom has the hallmark 3104 Fine with the A between two other markings. The stopper has the#53 on the end of the top and 52 on the bottle bottom. The other tall thin stemmed one is 4 1/4" h x 2 3/8's in diameter and the number appears to be 22 on the bottom of the bottle.Don't know if it's a professional marking. Description For your consideration today is this beautiful late Victorian perfume bottle made by William Comyns. This bottle is cut crystal and has a gorgeous repousse sterling silver hinged top featuring a pair of doves. It is hallmarked around the neck of the bottle with William Comyns stamp. The Silver Standard Mark, the London, England City Mark, the Date Letter of 1889. And the Duty Mark of Queen Victoria the I. The bottle is 5 1/4" tall and 4" across. There is a small push button on the front which keeps the bottle securely closed. There is no inner stop. There is a bit of staining on the inside of the bottle and it still has a beautiful lingering scent of the last perfume kept inside it. The bottle has a hobnail cut crystal body. Antique Crystal Pure Silver Perfume Bottle Decorative Art Display Piece May 1909
This crystal and silver perfume bottle is quite an extraordinary turn of the century piece. The silver has some very intricate decoration all created and stamped by hand. The word"May" is stamped into the silver- large enough to see and read easily. At the lower part of the bottle. In the silver is stamped"PATENTED- 19- 999/1909" There is also a hallmark which I am not able to identify. The"999" is the purity of the silver. The"1909" is the date it was created. On the very bottom of the bottle etched into the crystal is what looks like the number"188" The piece is in overall excellent shape- it is tarnished only and would clean up really well. This really is a very impressive antique bottle.

Offering 3 exquisite Sterling and cut crystal perfume bottles. All english, but from different makers. Smallest one is just under 5 inches in height. And 3.5 inches in diameter. It is made by Colen Cheshire of Birmingham. The next size is 5.5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter. Made by William Neale of Chester England. The largest is 6 inches in height. And 4.5 inches in diameter, made by Synyer& Beddoes of London. All 3 retain their original stoppers. All are well hallmarked. The largest the marks are almost illegible only the maker can be made out. The medium bottle has minor creasing to the silver. All 3 bottles are without monograms. Meyer Catalogs of that period which show similar ones. however since I could not locate this particular one Please note it is cut glass. Very beautiful at that. The color of the glass is a graduated amethyst from deep to light at the bottom of the Flask. The Flask has a screw top. Two large perfume/cologne bottles and a big powder jar. These pieces are made of crystal with cut fan designs and ground/polished bases. The silver elements are.800 purity(European standard) and have elaborate guilloche(also called engine-turned) engraving. The monogram shield panels are bare so you can personalize. If you wish. Large Scent Bottle: about 5 1/4” high; 4” in diameter. T he bottle collar and silver cap are not marked. The glass stopper has a ¼” chip under grip(see photo) and a tiny nick on the ground/polished bottom. No chips ... moreor scratches on the crystal. Medium Scent Bottle: still quite sizable at 5” high; 4” in diameter. The bottle collar and silver cap are not marked. The glass stopper has a3/8” angle chip on the bottom p(see photo) There is a ¼” U” shape indent just under the top of the silver cap. IF the crystal cutting appears a bit indistinct. It is the light mist of water on the inside walls from clearing. No chips or scratches on the crystal. Crystal Powder Jar: 4 ½” in diameter. And 2 ¾” high. The lid has a bright silver-plated interior; it is stamped on the outside with the 800 and monogram hallmarks. No chips or scratches on the crystal. We date this set from between 1920- 1950. We believe that it was made in Italy as the owner had many silver dresser and table items from Italy in her home. All in all, none of the crystal bodies have any major damage, just a very few fleabites on the bottle with a ball top. I have included photos of all mouths of the bottles to show the condition of the stoppers, if any. I will list the condition of the stoppers by the bottles photo numbers. Description Art Deco French sterling silver mounted cut crystal cologne/perfume bottle decorated with blue guilloche enamel. Unique wheel cut fluted pattern to the crystal body. Finished by a deeply cut 16-point starburst to the base. Mounted with a sterling silver threaded collar and screw on lid that opensto reveal a cut glass stopper beneath. Topped by an elegant and stylish engraved monogram of initials FL encircled by a blue guilloche enamel border. Measures 4 1/2" in height. 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" at the base. Perfume scent bottle has four crosshatched pinwheel floral circles with a thumbprint center. The floral pinwheels are surrounded by cut eight and four point stars with the bottom having a cut starburst. The perfume bottle and stopper have no cracks. Glass has some surface use wear marks. There are small pinpoint dings to the edges of some of the cut crystal ridges. One of the central circles of the pinwheel flowers has a less than 1/8" chip on the circle's edge. The top monogrammed ... moresurface of the sterling lid is slightly dented with four pinpoint holes in the silver. Lid snaps shut. Cut crystal stopper has a bit of roughness to its top edge and minor use wear marks on the frosted stopper surface. Bottom of the bottle has a hand etched number 43. Hallmark on lid rim reads: S(maker mark) Anchor- P' Lion Unknown script initials on the monogrammed sterling lid. The bottle has not been cleaned and the silver has not been cleaned or polished. These are a pair of very handsome 19th Century French antique crystal rib cut cologne/ perfume bottles for men or women. Star burst cut on the bottom with ground stoppers, sterling collar and the decorative cap is also sterling silver with a repousse engraved design. ESTATE SALE: We are offering a Stamped“HAWKES” CRYSTAL Perfume BOTTLE with SILVER accents on Bottle. Tray and CRYSTAL STOPPER. The hallmark is on the bottom of the bottles with the word HAWKES under it. This is probably from late 1800's to early 1900;s. A very rare and collectable piece! Condition of bottle is perfect, no chips, or cracks. Bottle is approx 3.25" the height with stoppers in is approx 3 5/8" The stopper has a crystal bottom with a silver neck and top. The height of the stoppers alone is approx 2 5/16" the diameter of the silver top is approx 1 3/4" The bottle sits in its own tray measuring 3 3/4" in diameter the tray sits a little under an inch off the ground.
