Up for your consideration is this sweet vintage Japanese Snuff or Perfume bottle with its original case. There are two hand painted Geisha Girls with flowers on the inside of one si de and butterflies and bugs pain ted on the other side. The lid is whi te jade stone. The bottle is cut and polished glass with a smoothed cut bottom. The bottle measu res about 2- 1/4" tall. 1-3/4" wide and about 3/4" deep. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. The bo x is covered with cloth and lined with a satin/silk type material. The hook is made of bone or faux ivory. The band around the neck is 14k Gold acid tested. it does have age splits. Otherwise in very good conditiom. Antique Vtg Old Snuff Perfume Toiletry Bottles Set Tall w/Travel Case-France?
These are very old and very unique heavy glass bottles. No markings, in their original leather travel case! In my research I found smaller versions of these bottles made exclusively for Coco Chanel, France, also in a leather case. Notice the glass stopper within a second metal screw on cap. See also the top surface of the glass bottles themselves. My photos are accurate in portraying this item. Approximate bottle measurements are 9" x 3" I was not able to remove the glass stopper from one bottle, and did not try to force it. See the last two photos for irregularity within the glass of one bottle. The leather case is missing the fold over top. A beautiful, quality item, with normal wear.

ANTIQUE Silver & Cobalt GLASS PERFUME Scent Snuff BOTTLE made in FRANCE 1850s
French made snuff or parfume bottle circa 1850-1870. It is made of blue cobalt glass and silver. I used to think that the top had a bit of turquoise on it. But I cannot be sure that it is turquoise. I am sure that it is silver fretwork that encases the cobalt glass.I seriously doubt that it's a right enough grade to be considered sterling. There are no marks on the silver to indicate what it is. The top screws on, it's not a"cork top" as many of them are of the day. There is no damage to the exterior of the bottle. However the spoon has detached due to the adhesive failure. That is a spoon and not a perfume dabber. The new owner can decide whether or not they wish to have it cleaned. It will need to go to a legitimate jewelry or restoration expert. However. I never cleaned it because frankly I'm afraid I don't know ... morehow. It is about 1.25" tall and 3/4 of an inch in width. Please see the photos for exact examples. I've had this for about 15 years and I cannot remember where I purchased it. It was probably at an antique shop. There for a while, I thought that I would start collecting snuff bottles because of the variety of materials and mediums there are in one subject type. They are interesting. However, I purchased another snuff bottle within a couple of months after this one and it turns out to be a"reproduction" the likes of those listed that fetch under $5. After that finding out exactly what I purchased and that I paid quite a bit for, I lost interest in collecting them. So this is the only one that I have and it belongs in a collection. The lid and ring are probably brass. The bottle itself is 2 1/4" tall. With the chain it is 4 1/4" long. The bottle is 1 3/8" wide and about 1/2" deep. The lid is 15mm across and works very well. The painting is in great condition with no scratches or wear. The lid has wear and darkening from age and use.

Bernard Perrot Perfume Scent Snuff Bottle Pair ca. 1670-1710 Orleans France
Scent bottle pair in amber and blue glass being sold together as one lot. 2 part mould blown; flattened pear shape with small foot. Pewter screw top and pontiled base. Ornamented in relief on one side with three fleurs-de-lis surmounted by a crown and on other side with three hearts and floral design. These small pear-shaped scent bottles would have been carried in their owner's pocket and would probably have contained perfume, holy oil or possibly snuff. The symbols were probably of heraldic significance as the fleur de lys is the symbol of the Bourbons(the house of the kings of France) while flaming hearts denote the house of Orléans, referring to the town or the house of the duke of Orléans(younger brother of King Louis XIV) who owned it. The sole glassmaking business in Orléans in the final decades of the 17th century ... morebelonged to Bernard Perrot and it is probable that this scent bottle was made in his glasshouse. Originally Bernardo Perroto, as his name suggests Perrot was one of the many Italian glassmakers working in France at this time. Both bottles are in perfect undamaged unaltered condition.
