Antique Alvin Sterling Overlay Crystal Pefume Bottle Iris
A drop dead gorgous perfume bottle Swirls of fine sterling connecting line patterns with iris. Near the base on one of those lines is: 1000 Fine(Alvin Hallmark) 3111. The stopper has a number scratched onto it. That looks like 671. It is about 3 1/2" tall. Without stopper about 2 1/2" It has a monogram in old script of 3 letters. The first letter looks like M the last C. No chips. There is an 1/8th spot where a very thin sterling overlay line has come off. You would not notice this, as the sterling line is complete,it is just a side of the line.

Antique Pefume Bottle Cut Glass & Gold, Original Fitted Case, Dutch 19C (#3232)
Exquisite Dutch antique gold mounted. Cut glass or crystal perfume/ scent bottle with engraved gold mounts and lid. Comes in original fitted box/ case. Made in The Netherlands, 19th century. Bottle measures 4 1/2 inches. Case is 4 3/4 inches. Perfume bottle made of fabulously cut glass. Possibly crystal. Widens towards the top. Stands on a narrow, petite base, mounted in a gold band. Panels of starbursts, in graduating size, according to the width of the bottle, seperated by very deeply cut, faceted borders. The shoulders are encased in a gold mount that entirely covers the tapering neck, leading to a hinged, elongated bulbous lid. The gold is finely engraved with foliage and has a delicate filigre border. Inside is original glass stopper, in unusually good condition. Gold is hallmarked on each area: the base. The shoulders, the lid. Overall ... morecondition of both glass and gold is very good. The perfume bottle comes in it's original. Fitted box/case, in form, reminiscent of a mummy's sarcophagus. The inside has one velvet and one silk side. The latter finished off with a finely twisted cord. The outside is original leather. Sturdy metal hinge. A metal hook holds it closed. The case is in good condition. A knowledgeable and kind lady from Holland emailed me: I identified the makers mark on the above mentioned perfume bottle as being from Hendricus Jacobus Murk. We are offering a lovely little amber cut crystal perfume bottle from the third quarter of the 19th c. It is decorated with hand cut crescents and notches. The central pair of crescents is further enhanced with strawberry cutting. The wear on the base is correct for something that is almost 150 years old. the stopper is original to the piece and fits perfectly. The bottle is in great condition. The silver is hallmarked and it is somewhat rubbed. But I believe it is Sheffield 1895. The cut glass is elegant with diamond and prism shapes. The stopper is elegant. There are no chips to the glass, but the inside of the silver neck has some cracks. There are a few very minor dents to the silver. It measures 7" high and the bottom is about 2.75" across. A truly beautiful bottle over 100 years old! I have just returned from a wonderful antique market in England and I will be listing several great items.
