Circa 1880 victorian gingerbread WINDOW pediment& surround molding. Salvaged in central NY state. This set includes one pediment/ header: 45" ... morelong- measures 40.25" across the bottom. 10.5" tall& 2.75" thick on top shelf. The two side moldings are 4.75" wide x 62.5" long x 1.25" thick The bottom sill is 44.5" long x 4" high x 2.75" thick. Old heavy crackled white paint! I've used these before to make a frame and put old school house slate chalkboards- I've seen others use a mirror. The condition is very good- could be re-used or repurposed on new construction. Measurment in the area where the window would be is 31" wide x 62.5" I have two sets available- selling each set(4 pieces: pediment. Sill& 2 side moldings) INDIVIDUALLY! One sill has some rot/wear! Lots of details include, repeating exclamation marks across the top, Eastlake inscribed carving near each end, a sawtooth pattern that may be burled, and trim with repeating pyramids. INCREDIBLY HARD PIECE TO FIND! If you are lucky to find something similar at an architectural salvage business. Rest assured, it will be priced over $1000. This is a genuine, Victorian era, window cornice. Still has old hooks and loops in back. Especially striking is that this walnut piece has no less than 3 stain colors! It is in wonderful overall condition. If you simply want it for an over door pediment or cabinet crest, it is flexible for those uses too. The center carving is simply a work of art. It has a pierced fan at top with 2 Eastlake round medallions. The bust is fantastically detailed. Additional carved crests near each end. Along the bottom is beveled trim while along the top is a deeply beveled, double cornice. It measures about 50 inches long, approx. 12 inches tall, and almost 9 inches out deep. From our non-smoking home… Wonderful old Window or Door pediment. Made to cover or hang either shades, curtain hardware, or valances. They also are great for putting above a door to hang Porteries to be able to partition off a doorway without a door, either for heat or privacy. This pediment is made with a central floral medallion. With bellflowers or leaves decreasing in size towards the edges. The top has egg-and-dart molding, and the bottom a smaller version. The piece retains its beautiful old gold paint. Now with a beautiful patina. Leave as is, or make it your own. I have cleaned them up a little, but there is still some detail cleaning around the decorative pieces that I’ll leave for the new owner. This and another that I have listed came out of the attic of my grandparents home in Garden City. A beautiful stately stone home. The piece ... morehas been strengthened at some later time with a piece of plywood across the top(also preventing dust on the top of the curtains) and at two places on the inside. It appears from the hardware that these most recently were fitted with roll-up shades. There is a small piece of molding from the right upper side as you are looking at the piece. VERY RARE VICTORIAN TIN CURTAIN VALANCE THESE ARE VERY RARELY SEEN VICTORIAN ANTIQUE PIECE. I HAVE TWO OF THESE VALANCES LISTED. ONE IS 75" LONG AND THE OTHER IS APPROX. 40" SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE OTHER ONE IF YOUR INTERESTED IN BOTH LET ME KNOW. This item is an Original Vintage Victorian Style Cast Iron Pediment that you can display above a door/ window/ or basically anywhere you feel it would look good in your home. This is NOT a reproduction… It is an Original piece. Believed to date back to the 50’s or 60's. The person I obtained it from– said a relative had it above their front door& they remember seeing it back when they were much younger… So they knew first hand that it has some age to it. It is a cast piece with fine decorative scroll work. Antique Pressed Brass Curtain Valance Shelf The beautiful valance features gilt pressed brass over a wooden frame. Originally used for a curtain valance. But has potential for a variety of applications. As you can see, it can be mounted on a wall as a narrow display shelf. It would also work well over a work of art with lighting hidden behind it. It could also be installed above the head of a bed for a dramatic drapery valance headboard. It measures 35 1/2" long. 5" high, and 5" deep. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of small dents to the brass. And a very nice warm patina.

These are rarely offered on Ebay. I believe these are from the Victorian Gilded Age. They would have probably been used as a Cornice box for curtains. Part of a fireplace mantle or a perhaps even a ceiling border similar to baseboards on a floor only at the top of the wall, serving the function of a wallpaper border in an affluent, Victorian Manor. Highest quality. Salvaged header that money can buy! Quarter sawn, tiger oak with fantastic patina. Guaranteed antique and not a reproduction. Near perfect condition. Large size makes it a great opportunity to use as a window valance. I have had similar over wood blinds for many years. It has wide cornice trim along the top. Below are 3 recessed panels framed with beveled trim. In the outside 2, are raised beveled panels with acanthus leaf and round flower medallions. In the middle recessed panel are more acanthus carvings and a dramatic center crest with segmented egg. Along the sides of the recessed panels are 4 contoured corbel brackets.
