This is a very old EARLY CROWN PEDIMENT or WINDOW or DOOR TOP you be the judge! It measures 3 4 1/8" X 4 7/8" tall. I believe it is made of pine. It weighs a little over 3 lbs. It is in good condition for it's age(as can be seen in the photos) The wood is a little split on the left en d because it is so old.

Antique wood colonial window door PEDIMENTS - set of 2
Rare. Unusual architectural antiques. VERY hearvy, thick, completely original, mixed woods and veneers. I've never seen any quite like them. We have had them in the last 8 attics hoping to redo an old historical home one day. What can I say? WE are"antique" now and need to pass these treasures on to someone younger who can do them justice in a home. They could be incorporated into other areas, but I imagine were intended to be PEDIMENTS over big windows and/or doors way back when. Please study the photos to see just what you would be getting. They also are great for putting above a door to hang Porteries to be able to partition off a doorway without a door, either for heat or privacy. This pediment is made with a central floral medallion. With bellflowers or leaves decreasing in size towards the edges. The top has egg-and-dart molding, and the bottom a smaller version. The piece retains its beautiful old gold paint. Now with a beautiful patina. Leave as is, or make it your own. I have cleaned them up a little, but there is still some detail cleaning around the decorative pieces that I’ll leave for the new owner. This and another that I have listed came out of the attic of my grandparents home in Garden City. A beautiful stately stone home. It's an original door pediment or head casing trim and is roughly 100 years old. It has several layers of peeling paint over what appears to be the original shellac finish. I removed much of the curling. Loose paint. It could be stripped and refinished or left as is! It would look great with the addition of a shelf and perhaps some metal coat/hat hooks or wooden pegs on the flat. Vertical surface area of the piece. It would also make a fine head or topper piece for a mirror or recessed niche or it could be used as intended above a door or window! The possibilities are endless! Antique Walnut Furniture Wood Pediment Door Window Architecture Crown 50" x 7"
Beautifully carved Walnut Furniture Door Pediment. This has been in my private collection for over 20 years. I call this my"French Fleur de Lis" Pediment since it has a similar design. Hangs great over doors or as an attachment to other furniture. Pediment is in great shape for it's age. Solid without repairs. Wood has a nice smooth matte sheen. I only use lemon oil to preserve the nature wood finish. Conditions: Wood damage on the back(Photos# 8#9) Small crack on top(10) Neither of which detach from it's wonderful craftsmanship. Both are hardly visible when hung since they are on the backside and top. Small holes in back to hang& small holes on each end to attach to furniture. Pediment measures 50" Long by Almost 7" Tall by Almost 1" Deep. Home is smoke and pet free so your pediment will arrive clean. ... morePest and critter free. 80 Antique Victorian Door Window Plinth Bullseye Rosette Salvaged Wood Wooden
Please read all contents of this auction before you place a bid! Up for auction: We used salvaged heart pine wood and floors from a hundred + year old farm house and cotton mill in Franklin County. North Carolina. We needed to replace a large number of rosettes during the restoration of our ca. 1890 Victorian Gothic home(over half of the original rosettes to our home had been removed in a 1952 renovation) Unfortunately. The milling company used the wrong blade/pattern when cutting the replacement rosettes for our home. Though we tried to resolve the problem by re-milling these rosettes, using the other side- in the end, we decided to start from scratch. Therefore. We are selling all the rosettes to barely offset what we've already spent towards this endeavor. You can choose which side you'd like to use them for in your project(s) ... moreBefore you assume that this is pricey for this lot. Keep in mind that these blocks were hand cut precisely for the rosette size we needed, not to mention we drove well over an hour to drop off and retrieve them from the milling company who did the work for us. The blades were custom cut but in the end, did not meet the specifications that we had requested. This is a great deal for the individual who appreciates the authentic materials needed for preservation and truly understands the difference in restoration and renovation! There are a total of 80 rosettes. 19 cut on one side. 61 are cut on both sides. These rosettes measure approximately 5" x 5" x 1 1/8" each. This is 100 plus year old heart pine salvaged wood that has been cut and used to match period ca. 1890 rosettes in our home. This group is the leftover from our Victorian home restoration project. While newly and professionally carved. This is 100 plus year old salvaged heart pine wood. This is not new wood! Rosettes weight about 60 pounds total.
