This is a very nice broken arch style pediment with gesso or composition trim. It measures 26 1/2" wide. 23 1/2" wide at the very bottom x 9 1/4" high. It is painted a cream color with pink gesso trim. Some of the gesso is missing from the rosette at the top right and it is cracked as well which you can see in the pictures. Shabby Antique Vintage Architectural Pediment Header Paint Gesso Cottage Chic
DESCRIPTION Up for auction is a wonderfully shabby. Ornate, wooden, architectural pediment, featuring old paint, applied gesso or carved ornamentation, and two drawer pulls that have been added in existing nail holes- little uneven which adds to the over all vintage charm of the piece. I'm not sure what this piece was originally a part of, but it a perfect compliment to a shabby cottage or country French farmhouse decor. I've sanded it smooth and then dry brushed three layers of different colored chalk paint over the original paint for a one of a kind piece. No hangers are attached, but if you are the winnning bidder and would like, I will add picture hanging wire to the old nails extending above the top of the pediment. CHIC VICTORIAN SHABBY COTTAGE VINTAGE LOOK PEDIMENT WALL DECOR SET~ 3 PIECES~
You are looking at an architectural wall pediment 3 piece set that is meant to frame& drape your long beautiful scarves on a high wall. Or to use behind a bed instead of a headboard. The white pediment is made of a very hard pressed foam, which makes it light but very solid& sturdy, the gold center knob is made of wood. It is very, very ornate.The 2 gold scarf holders are very heavy& solid, but I'm not sure what they are made of.This looks stunning on a high cathedral ceiling wall. There are no hangers on the back of the pediment, the scarf I used was VERY heavy so I used wall moleys to be sure it wouldn't move( hence the 2 small holes you see) then I touched up the screw tops with white paint& you couldn't even see them.
