We learn from Dick Slade's Fishing Tackle of Wisconsin that Only 12.000 of these baits were ever produced and that the Arnold Bait Company of Paw Paw. Michigan was contracted to produce it.This lure is one of the hardest one's to get in any condition. Vintage Lot of 24 Different Fishing Flies Still on Original Card #10 Size Hook
This set of vintage fishing flies. Which I estimate to be from the 1950s or 1960s, was found in a fishing tackle box with old and vintage equipment. The card they were originally mounted to was cut in half, with corners and edges trimmed, so it would fit inside the box. The uneven two pieces, when joined together as shown, measures around 6 3/4" x 7" This was made in Japan back when they made a lot of items shipped to the U.S. There are 25 small round pieces of cork, each with a fly inserted into the cork. Each is named, and one is missing, so there are 24 total included. The card says they are on No 10 Hook Size. Each hook has thread wrapped around it, but none have any feathers. If they were originally there, they must have been worn off. The card shows wear and some soiling from being in a tackle box all these years. Interesting ... morepiece. Or two pieces, actually. I have 2 really nice rope stringers and the metal points and rings appears to be copper. They are in very nice shape and can be cleaned up to display great. There is also an old snelled hook holder that is made out of metal and has a bunch of hooks on one side. It is made to put snelled hooks on both sides. There is also a hand line of some sort made by Florida Fishing Tackle Mfg. Co of St. Petersburg. Florida. The final item is a wood handle for a gaff hook(I am assuming)
