This is GoRgEoUs! My photos don't do this piece justice. It measures just over 37" wide and stands about 7 1/4" high. It would be beautiful hung above a door. Piece of furniture, mirror, etcetera. This would be spectacular in your garden or placed above a grand entrance gate or doorway. It is beautifully done. I have had this for decades and hard times force me to sell very reluctantly as I know this is such a rare find. I was told by the widow that I bought it from. Which was in her garden at the time.that her husband brought it down from atop an old historic Chicago hotels very detailed front archway facade entrance during a remodeling. Sometime within the 1940's-60's. I don't know the actual production date of manufacture although there are many markings on it which might aid someone in narrowing down the artisans plant or kiln factory. They had removed each section.Piece by piece and he managed to talk his foreman into letting him place it into the back of his late 40's sedan car. Here is a wonderful pair of detailed wall ornaments for your home or garden in the form of two hand carved plaques depicting biblical scenes. With one measuring 20" long by 7" wide, the other 17" long by 7" wide, both projecting about 2" from wall. These ornaments are hand carved from solid wood and were purchased in West Germany during the 1960's. Wonderful Vintage Architectural/Furniture Salvage Pediment. Beautiful carved piece with lots of detail! It is made of a lighter weight wood. But I do not know what kind. It has a chippy white paint over a wood stain. It measures 35" long x 4-1/4" tall at tallest point. As you can see in the last photo, there is a triangle shaped piece on the back that was used to mount it to the original piece. This could be pried off if you were wanting to wall mount it. Vintage 1920's Brass Architectural Salvage Pediment / Wall Pc Boston Building #2
Up for your consideration are two beautiful looking vintage Brass Architectural pediment/ wall pieces. These nice looking pieces were part of the lobby from a Boston Building built in the 1920's that was renovated and was not longer needed. Building was in the neoclassical style. If your into vintage architectural pieces this is for you. Brass was big in the 20s and 30s for decorating a lobby in a building or use on the outside because of its cheap price. Today the cost would be to great to use this metal. Both are made of solid brass. They measure about 19 7/8" wide. 2 7/8" wide and 3/8" thick. Total weight is about 7 pounds. Older piecee that does not need a cleaning. Nice older brass patina on them. Looks like there was a small piece on the bottom of the Bulls Eye that has been glued back in place. Bulls Eye also has a crack coming off the small nick on right side. Please refer to the pictures. I took close ups of the flaws. They are minor and are barely noticeable. The design is really nice with a bulls eye center and scalloped edge on top.
