Vtg Mid Century Modern Wood Tapered Pencil Coffee Table Legs Mounting Brackets
I found th ese table legs at an estate sale(I removed them f rom a table I purchased that was from the 1950s) They had a couple layers of paint on them(not original) s o I stripped them to the wood(they could use a little more sanding before staining) The metal end caps were al so painted so I sanded them down. T he tip ends still s how a little rust. Two of these sl ip off easily and the other two will come off with a tug. I didn't want to glue or tack these on so that the new owner can slip them off to stain the legs and repaint the tips too. The top ends have the mounting screws( a litt le rust. But very st urdy) and the mo unting brackets are also included. The brackets had some paint and rust which I attemp ted to sand off some to show they are still solid and sturdy. There is still quite a bit of rust on the back. But that will ... morebe underneath and wont show. These are the brackets that will give an outward tilt to the legs. Not just straight up and down mount. These are definately vintage legs, not reproductions, and are solid wood! There are a few dents and still a little paint do wn in the grain in some are as. Not perfect. But good solid legs! these measure about 13.25" end to end not including the mounting screw. The bracket will add another 3/8-1/2" the y are about 1 3/8" wide at the top and taper to about 5/8" these will cost me at least $10-12 to ship. I a m offering f ree shipping. But just so you know. From an estate sale I have a set of 4 13 inch metal tiped tapered pencil legs with brackets. The brackets look like the type that allows for two different degrees of slant. There are two tips that screw into the bottom. Missing the other two. Please review pictures for value etc. They needed cleaned but very cool and sturdy. normal ware appropriate for the age.

Nice vintage set of legs. Legs taper nicely to a metal(Brass? tip and metal end point. A nice rich brown oak color. Again. Vintage mid century Danish modern sleekness to these legs. They're 15 1/2 inches long(not including the screw at the top(about another 1/2 inch or so) They're 2 inches wide at the thickest and taper down to about 3/4" Very pretty. Use them with their'beauty marks' as is, or restore them by refinishing them. Cool 1/2 century old legs. DISCLAIMER: I find antique and collectible items at Estate Sales. Varnish or paint is flaking off all of them, will need refinished. Three are very good, one has a split that runs about half-way down the leg(see close-up pics) The swivel brass feet are marked FLAT FOOT, three swivel, one is stiff but should loosen with WD-40 or similar lubricant.
