Vintage Set of 4 Brass Wheel Casters Swivel around the Stem
Set of 4 vintage brass wheel casters with brass yokes have swivel posts in good working condition. These casters measure 2.75 inches long including the post. The caster posts are meant to fit inside a socket with 9/32 inch inside diameter 1.5 inches long. They would be used to support a mid weight piece of furniture and raise its height by 1.25 inches. A caster set like this could have been used on a table where the post was inserted into a socket in the leg. The socket could have been metal or just a hole drilled in the wood as sometimes seen on contemporary furniture. Please view the pictures carefully. 4 Universal #5 metal wheel casters Vintage furniture rollers Swivel bearings
This is a matched set; all are marked Universal#5. They are supposed to have swivel action. But it is catchy on all of them. They will need a little restoration to be fully functional. About 3 1/4" top to bottom. Wheel diameter is about 1 1/4" wide. Not all of the wheels are perfectly round, examples shown in the pictures. I don't think any of them are way off though. I have several listings of vintage wheels and will always combine shipping if you are interested in more than one of my listings.

Up for consideration is an Antique set of 4 Industrial 3 Wheel Swivel Casters Condition- Good Used Condition. No broken or missing pieces. Casters all rotate freely and are not bent. Surface rust present. Tape residue present on the wheels and needs to be cleaned. Description- Very nice set of 3 wheel swivel casters used to move heavy objects such as stoves. Pianos and furniture. Individually casters weigh just under 2 lbs and measure 6 inches across from each point of the wheel. These are all a matching set and all are marked M.B. Schenck Co, Meriden Conn, although some marks are more visible than others due to wear and age. Not sure how long this company was in business. Lot of 4 Antique STEM CASTERS With WOODEN WHEELS With Swivel Inserts These casters have the insert that goes into the hole of the furniture leg. Then the caster is inserted into the insert where it snaps in and stays without falling out of the furniture leg when the furniture piece is lifted off the floor. The hardwood wheels are about 1 1/8" in diameter and about 5/8" in thickness. The stems are 1 1/2" long. 1/4" in diameter with a knob at the top that is 5/16" in diameter. These casters are very similar in size and look, but they are not exactly alike. Condition: These casters are used. None of the wheels are cracked or broken or have flat spots. Two of the wheels have no wear on the axle and two have some wear. But are still quite usable. All my items are from a nonsmoking environment. The title I just wrote pained me. I do not know enough about old wheels to write a proper title. These wheels are so simple yet complicated I am sure there is an actual word for them. I did see some other ads on Ebay use the words"steampunk" and"furniture" in their titles. I do not care about punking any steam, and I do not think this style caster was used on furniture. so I will omit those choices from my title. just because it makes no sense. Almost all the ads for similar wheels by different sellers are using an identical title. This tells me that sometime in the past, a successful seller used those words and their wheels sold at a reasonable price. It appears many of the current sellers looked at that ad, and copied it. They did not think for themselves. They are cows. Do not buy from cows, unless it is milk related. ... moreI like the the word"industrial" though. Many sellers used the words"cast iron" To me, that is something like a skillet, or a bracket. Cast iron has a tendency to be brittle, so although I am not sure, I beleive these casters should be solid iron, with some components cast. Seems to me cast iron wheels would not hold up under the weight and the process of rolling heavy loads across a floor. But. what do I know.really? I have opinions, and most people do not want to hear them. Not even my dog. People who are"in the know" will laugh at my feeble attempt to describe them. One caster has a break on one side, see pictures, it is still usable but not as sturdy as the others. No breaks or cracks to the other 7 casters.

4 Unique Vintage Antique Cast Iron Double Wheel Tilt AND Swivel 2" Casters Set
These casters are a very nice set of double wheels that both tilt and swivel via a unique third wheel mechanism for a full range of movement. There are two different base types with one set attaching to the mounting surface as is and the other needing disassembly(as shown in the photo) to reach the screw holes. The total height of the wheels is 2 3/4" and each of the wheels is 1 7/8" diameter and 1/2" thick. The wheel bracket that joins the two wheels together is the widest point on each at 2 1/2" The large base is 2 1/8" x 3" with 1/4" holes.
